The community has been unfair.
I’ve been playing this game for 2 year now, have around 4,300 hours, and NEVER the devs have been more transparent, and yes, they do in fact lac the ambition to do some necessary changes, but I repeat, NEVER they have listen to the community more, it’s been painful to see SOOOOOO many ptbs that ware done, feedback gave, and ABSOLUTELY NONE changes would be made, but in the now days, they not only communicate what they are doing before they do it, they change thinks based on feedback, take trickster for example, or xeno, or whatever u want, ever since the MMR disaster they’ve listening, I don’t think the hate they are receiving is fair by any means

I think its partially true, it was however a very stupid decision to go on an AMA if you don't have much info to give to begin with. They could have just released a blog post with what they can actually tell us.
However the biggest disappointment was the lack of features, QoL and the complete and utter disregard in changes that'd benefit new players. Such as buffing general perks and perks belonging to free characters (Huntress and Wraith have awful perks for example), and no reducing the price for older non-licensed DLC is not really helping as much as many believe, sure its a good thing and better than nothing but its still MANY hours of gameplay till they can afford enough to have a decent set of perks that don't suck.
Its so bad i warn people not to buy this game unless they are willing to spend time and effort into something they may not end up liking, and i'm saying this as a Warhammer 40K player so this means something!
There are many optional things they could add such as a crosshair, seeing loadouts in the lobby/loading screen (just make them toggeable options and most of the arguments against them disappear completely).
Judging by the survey i atleast have hopes for cross-progression and new gamemodes so yes there is some good coming but they got bad priorities.

While some devs are surely chill and passionate about the game, its either higher ups or CEOs decisions that are killing the game for me.
My biggest issue with this game is how long even the smallest changes and qol things take them to implement.
Its like laughably long and even bizarre how long it takes.
New chapter every 3 months? I dont care for 2 years now, any character they add I dont care anymore its the same.
They take several years to add some setting games made in 1996 had.
Its just tiring to make excuses for them anymore I guess

I think it is fair in some degree, at least in some of the things they are receiving it for. Mainly:
- Saying it would take years to implement simple QoL changes that should be in the game since day 1 with obviously bogus excuses.
"We can't implement seeing other survivor's build in the lobby because we don't have flexibility in the HUD"? My brother in the Entity, you made the HUD! Open that widget editor in UE and change it. It is mind boggling that anybody effectively can watch a couple UE's HUD tutorials in Youtube and do the exact same thing in a couple of days, and they are claiming that we will have to wait years for it to happen. And believe me, it's not that hard or something that need that much planning, testing or developing time.
- The wording in some claims.
"Our posture is that lack of information is not the problem". Even if it is true (I mean, play a couple of SoloQ games, watch closely what your teammates are doing and you would realize that the real problem is a lack of game sense on average and doesn't matter how much info those people would had, they would still don't make the right call at the right time) saying that, in that way, after affirming that people would have to wait years for simple things to be implemented is not the right way to do it.
Even if nothing would change, there is no reason to not have things like builds preview in the lobby or even better, the AFC bar implemented in the HUD so survivors know when a teammate is being camped and the killer when he is granting a free escape unintentionally, or any HUD info for killers as they don't have any (we still have to memorize who we have hooked, for the entity's sake). Again, things like those should have being in the game since the beginning and there is no excuse to not have them 7 years from then (in fact, there is also no reason to not add voice chat or a ping system in the game, either or both, other than server costs).
Have all those things in the game and then yeah, you could be like "The lack of information is not the problem, is that on average you don't know how to play", but if the game is missing basic functionality and you claim that it would take you years from now to add it... dude, seriously?

They are definitely better than the last years. I only play since 2020 but the change is very visible.
We now have a weekly roadmap, a monthly roadmap and specific information on what is gonna change and when. This is huge of you ask me. Sure, one could say that this should be standart, but it wasn't up till now.
Many people just like to focus on all things negative and overlook everything that has improved. It's so sad.
That however, doesn't mean, that everything goes super well. There is always room for improvement and some of the criticism is definitely justified.

Meh. People really set themselves up and have high expectations. But I don't play this game very often to the point I demand things quickly from the devs. I've noticed they've been more transparent and I'm ok with that. And I do know they have limitations as well. Maybe ppl are just burnt out.
1 -
If the scale of expectation caps out at 10, bhvr was a 1 and moved to a 2. Absolutely nothing to praise with their dev count.
They listen, pick and choose their responses and then also pick and chose what they work on. Then there's a good chance they didn't actually understand or someone is too egotistical to correctly make a change just for it to end up terrible.
EXTREMELY slow changes combined with sub par results does not warrant praise.
No real base game changes, mediocre events, poor changes, SLOW.
Sadako failed rework that didn't make her more fun to play against, SM failed, Trickster failed, legion and ghost face reworks that were really just add-on passes and a couple basekit buffs. Perks get slowly rotated in and out of the meta at a crawl and half of them on survivor side have been meta forever.
They are more transparent when they want to be and I know they act faster then in the past but it's still nothing.
I might seem mad here but I'm really not, just disappointed.

with changes taking 5000 years to do it gets irritating after awhile

Other than the mediocre events part, I completely agree with most of this post. The first line especially, I don't understand how people can praise this clownery when they did really just the minimum

I had been in similar situation in studio. The artists were so passionate about the project, even CEOs cared about the improvement and progression. Its when the CEOs decided to open more projects and hired more people for other projects, all the artists of the currently project were mostly over worked to fund for other projects.
That is when the higher ups & CEOs only see the current project as a money maker. No more innovation.

Dbd mobile might end up being the real DBD Killer that every new Assym was touted to be. Better UI, better costumes, new moris, new game modes. All that’s left is for dbd mobile to add mobile exclusive Killers
People have eyes and ears. They see and hear about what DBD mobile has to offer and ask themselves why the main game doesn’t have X and Y but the mobile version does. So far the answers to these questions have been disappointing

It is like we are talking about renovating and refurbishing a very rundown house that could be real lil jewel box, if finished. We got a leaky roof, several smashed windows, the front door isn't closing, there is vermin everywhere, electricity and internet connection is quite spotty and there is even a bush growing in the living room.
So you ask the owner "what are we going to tackle next? I am down for everything." and they tell you "yeah, I bought one nice bucket of wood stain, the mail box is a bit crooked and we will straighten it up and also give it a shiny new coat of paint" "Yeah ok, thats quick and easy. What next? What of the big, pressing issues?" "..." and then you are hit with silence.
You got all this REALLY big problems that they are seemingly too afraid to tackle in any way, and then you have this issues that the community is unhappy with for years, that you get this evasive answers about, ala "we are aware of that problem, but have no immediate plans to work on any solution for the forseable future", in one case claiming that nothing would change for years.
Yeah, BHVR did some big and good changes in the last year, I will give them that, but overall the pace is SO glacial slow and they so very often seem tone deaf to whats really going on and don't seem to understand their game and the issues with it at all.
My favorite solution: give your Fogwhisperers one of the PTBs of the year. Work with them on some of the problems of the game or some crazy ideas and just realize them for a PTB and see how it works. Just imagine the buzz this would create and how much RAW data you would get from this. It could be such a fun event that people look forward to, and I bet that they would come up with at least one idea that improves the game significantly and that would stick after this PTB. Sometimes its okay to just go by gut feeling, roll with the punches and try something thats not backed up by three layers of big data. And you can always admit that this or that was a mistake and roll it back. Someone will always be unhappy with a roleback, but most players would prefare REGULAR and TIMELY changes even if they are rocky and rough, to waiting years and years and years for a solution that leaves everyone underwhelmed and disappointed in the end.

I agree 100%. The community just doesn't remember how rough old DBD was...they have done so much the last couple years and nobody stops to appreciate it.

This is partially true in terms of communication but the amount of cheaters is too high along with some of the communication being the wrong type like the AMAs. I think they should communicate more I don't wanna say intelligently cuz that comes across as insulting but I guess strategically?
Less AMAs that tell us nothing and more polished presentations or dev updates.

Ruining a game deserves harsh criticism.
The game has become unplayable and unfun actually.
2 -
The AMAs are kinda a double edged sword for me. They rarely ever seem to bear good news or stuff I want to hear, but I do and always have appreciated dev communications.
So it's like, I do appreciate devs telling me things I'd rather not hear, cause at least they're talking to us.

Feedback, as long as it isn't disrespectful, is always fair and justified.
If people aren't happy with the current state of things, they are allowed to voice their displeasure.
1 -
I think they have been doing a better job. The big issue I have with them is that despite after the Sadako reworkPTB they ignored the extremely negetive feedback. I used to main Sadako and I find her so unfun to play as now not to mention going against her I find horrible. I know several other former Sadako mains will back me up.

Explain why

I don't think they are very transparent or listen too well now like they used to. idk if you played around year 1 but they used to do weekly live streams and give updates on the game and involve the community frequently then. They don't really do that anymore maybe once a year for the anniversary stuff.

Everything has been nerfed that made the game enjoyable. MMR makes the game a sweaty hell. Without a 4 man SWF there is no chance of escaping unless the killer actually plays "nice" and fumbles hard due to how much the game has become unbalanced.
Survivor is totally unplayable nowadays and nothing being done about. It's either always 4K, survivor giving up, etc. that's every game.
