Basement Body blocking is just downright disgusting

The game design becomes utterly appalling when the Killer can corner someone in the basement and prevent their escape during Borrowed Time by simply blocking the stairs and moving in a predictable pattern that's nearly impossible to evade in such a brief window. It feels like an automatic loss when facing a Basement camping Killer.

While your team could use that time to complete objectives, relying solely on this tactic to "win" the match at the expense of someone stuck on the basement hook isn't particularly thrilling.

There should be a way to run past a Killer who tries to body block at the stairs while in Borrowed Time. Or let's just face it, it would be a longtime coming implementing a second exit to the basement.

literal skill issue unless killer can block the basement without any way for you to leave which Im pretty sure was patched long ago.

The basement is supposed to be a dangerous zone.

The counterplay is to identify where basement spawns early in the game and avoid looping in the area.

It wouldn’t be a “basement” if it had an additional exit, it would just be another room.

So when facing an abusive system that has a very tiny chance of survival if any, you are okay with that and call it fixed? This is not a matter of "skill" when you can clearly predict the Killer's movement pattern and still fail to get past him simply because all he has to do is walk slowly back while zigzag on the stairs to waste your hook protection timer and then just down you before you can even reach halfway of the stair.

It already is dangerous, even without abusive stair body blocking.

That is very cheap counterplay. And again, poor game design if it is the only way to counter it.

There are basements with two exits, what kind of logic is that, lol.

correct, suck it up because this is one of the few punishments of getting into the basement

I don't think I will. These arguments have been quite weak thus far. It only fuels more reason for players to give up on hook early. I don't think your way of seeing this issue is quite there yet, but hang in there, you will face it yourself eventually and see my way.

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm in the camp where basement should be feared and respected.

There have been several times as survivor where I've deliberately taken a loop that will result in me being much more likely to go down, based solely on the knowledge that basement is near, and if I get caught at the stronger loop, I'm going in basement. When playing Killer I don't camp basement, however I don't leave too fast either because the hesitation and uncertainty about if I will camp or not buys pressure.

That "Oh #########... he's hooked in basement" fear needs to remain in the game. It's one of those moments that genuinely gets me nervous, and it's something that should be there. It's one of the reasons why it's worth considering perks like Deliverance, Borrowed Time, Off The Record, Dead Hard, or even perks like Camaraderie. You may need multiple survivors to take protection hits to get out, and if you misplay it you can make the problem even worse.

It's not a death sentence being in basement, but it is a rough spot for survivors to be in. The only time it's ever truly a death sentence is if it's a basement Trapper... or ofc a Bubba, both of which aren't particuarly strong killers, where the threat of basement does help them out.

there is a perk to counter bodyblocking in basement. Off the record extends borrow time from 10 second to 80 seconds. Now you can have your fantasy of going into the basement and escaping every time. There is also decisive strike perk.

The base-kit counter is being good at the chase when your near basement and avoid getting hooked in the basement.
