..will this ever be changed to a skill check? Fighting off the entity's claws should be more of a precise fighting action instead of developing mild arthritis in your hands after waiting 100 years to be unhooked!

I'm too busy hammering the space bar while watching the other survivors get downed or crouch crawl around the map to worry about doing a mini-game while on the hook.

And I see enough skill checks while doing gens and healing - I kind of like the break. Will perks that affect skill checks also affect these? Would make those perks OP for fast hook kills.

I imagine the cramp is not as savage when using a space bar but I get your point. I suppose it’s good to have something that doesn’t need a skill check in the game but damn the struggle is real on console. puns

Yeah, spamming the button on consoles can get really bad. My thumb constantly feels jammed these days, and that wasn't a problem before playing this game.

Holding down a button would be less physically taxing. Like the way you hold down R1 or whatever to attempt to unhook yourself. Struggling could be a bar, and you hold down a button to keep the bar filled. If you let off the button, the bar quickly starts to unfill, and when it completely empties (within like a second or two) the survivor dies. That seems reasonable.

I get that the struggle phase is supposed to be "uncomfortable" for the player, but I'd say not aggravating or causing medical issues for players is more important.

One suggestion is pressing a little slower believe it or not you don't have to press it as fast as you think (apologies for deaths caused) or just get the PC version never mind the better fps the space bar tapping on hook is the real big difference!

Thanks for the tip @Petraaahh I have to take an hours break sometimes until I can work my hand again properly! That hour without dbd is frightening..

A skill check would get completely trashed by anyone running Unnerving and Distressing(which i use constantly LOL) but I totally understand the issue with button mashing.

This also further degrades hardware, and if i(or anyone else for that matter) may have to purchase another controller/keyboard to play this because of a game's mechanic, it should be looked into and changed.

I'm actually fairly bored when i'm struggling. I feel like there's not the level of immersion that people claim it is. I play with a controller as survivor, and my new keyboard doesn't need a DBD stress test in the slightest. While you don't have to mash the snot out of your buttons, that isn't the point.

I'm an old man. Have mercy on my joints RIP
