Dear BHVR - Stop with the backpacks on outfits
A few of them (very few) are meme-y and funny, but I am sick of them.
The new seasonal outfit for Yui is just the latest example of an otherwise great outfit nearly ruined by a big honking backpack. It's practically a trope at this point.
It's gotten to the point where every time I see a cool new outfit I restrain my enthusiasm until I can turn the model around and confirm they don't have one of these kitschy monstrosities tacked onto them.
Or give the option to toggle them on off. But to me it's just a lazy, unimaginative way to seem like you're giving "more" when you design an outfit.
They're not a positive, imo.

I'm sick of them too.

They rarely fit the outfit they're on, and they even more rarely look good.

Yeah, I really feel like they are a result of the cosmetic design team feeling like they need to add value to outfits, but they rarely look good. Sometimes less is more.
I've never picked up an outfit because of a backpack (or a helmet stored on the back, of which there are a few), but I certainly have decided not to buy an outfit because there is one.
And it's not just the aesthetics, these things make you way more visible to the killer.

It's so funny to me how consistently they give outfits backpacks even when it makes no sense. I think Haddie's monster slayer outfit is probably the most egregious example.
I wouldn't call it lazy per se as they are technically giving themselves extra things to model I just think it's too formulaic. They should be more willing to branch out and experiment, give us full helmets/masks that fully cover the face or more interesting designs on the back of shirts/jackets, Ace's bomber jacket comes to mind as a great example of this.
When we buy a cosmetic we want to see our character model and not have it be blocked by giant backpacks that aren't interesting to look at. It should be common sense but somehow they keep making the same mistake over and over.

I think it is because they're trying target an audience of 9-13 years old, young school kids. school kids all wear backpacks to school so they're selling that because they're trying to reflect what buyer is doing in RL into the game. It is weird because i feel like their game demographic cater more towards the young teen, something like 15-20 year old because most of survivor models look around that age. perhaps they have just concluded that young population buys more skins so that what you get in the shop.

I didn't mean lazy in that it's less work, but that it's creatively lazy. Like feeling like you need to add something to the design, and just literally tack on a cliché with some character specific flair and call it good.
But yeah, I'd rather have a cool design on the outfit itself than a giant, boring protuberance that just hinders me in game.

Poor Haddie always seems to be victim to this. The Entity must really hate her, making her carry backpacks around the fog all the time.

backpacks need to go or stop...

Same -- whenever I see a cosmetic that looks cool from the front, I'm like, "Wait, though, because there's probably something weird on the back." And 75% of the time, I'm right.
I understand, in principle, why you would put stuff on the back of the cosmetic -- it's the part that players see the most. So, whoever came up with the first backpack must have seemed like s genius. But a lot of these feel like someone said, "What can we randomly put on their backs?" instead of having it be a natural part of the outfit.

+1
I say No to backpacks too

Agreed.
I don't have anything else to say to this. Just stop it, please BHVR.

I personally like the backpacks, gives me something to look at when i'm running.

The only backpack I like is the one on the Meg hiker fit, the rest I avoid.

They put a backpack on Vittorio's Santa outfit, and a backpack on Jake's Halloween werewolf outfit. Even holiday cosmetics aren't safe from unnecessary baggage. Not to mention the new Dwight cosmetic; it's supposed to be him as a store clerk for a games shop, why does he have a backpack? What clerk wears a backpack?

Its a shame because Yui skin looks nice. Wont be buying because of that ######### backpack of course. Well played bhvr

I completely agree. I just wished we could disable these features like backpacks, clutter or heads. They ruin so many outfits for me. T.T

At this point it feels like they are doing this deliberately to troll and make people angry. Don't buy or unlock skins with backpacks until they get the hint that people don't want them.

They need to either make a backpack slot, or two versions of the torso - one with and without - that you get both of when you buy it at the same cost as now.

An easy solution to this would be to make them unequip-able just like in Fortnite.
