PLEASE UNCAP FPS
There is LITERALLY no reason to cap it, and its also really dumb that its something we can't change ingame, but instead have to EDIT A FILE! THIS IS THE ONLY GAME I KNOW OF THAT DOES THAT WITH FPS!!!

Can you elaborate? What kind of frames are you wanting? What are you getting?

I have a 240hz monitor and I think its really dumb that the FPS ONLY GOES UPTO 120. There is 0 reason why you shouldn't be able to go past 120, its such a weirdly specific number aswell, like most monitors cap out at either like 144, or maybe 165/175 why 120? AND WHY DOES IT ONLY GO UPTO 120?!?!?!

Also, why does more than 120 matter? Im genuinely curious. Thanks!

Pretty much anything above 60 frames looks a lot smoother as far as I know. I've been using 60hz monitors my entire life so I don't look at frames higher than 60fps often but 100fps and higher looks sooooo good. Once you go higher than 60hz, you can't go back. You just can't, it's that good.
DBD has a hard cap of 120fps that they have not removed. Whether it's related to the coding of the game or the engine (Unreal Engine can go past 120fps, Fortnite proves that), I don't know. Someone else probably has better knowledge on that topic.

The more frames you have in a game really makes the experience feel smoother. As someone who went from a toaster on 10fps in most games, to eventually 60 then 144, and now 240, I love getting to enjoy my buttery smooth frame rates. It just makes it a much smoother experience, and is overall better.

You can kind of experience what high fps looks like if you watch a "The Slow Mo Guys" video on YouTube. They capture stuff at REALLY high fps and then slow it down so everyone can see how smoothly stuff happens. In games its just as smooth, but in real time when you have a higher monitor refresh rate. And to go from a game where I am getting my max 240fps, to literally half that is quite noticeable and honestly feels gross.

Won't happen, it used to be possible 3-4 years ago but, if you were above 120, you had very buggy/laggy movement, 120 fps is the sweet spot for a stable gameplay.

I'm guessing it is an engine limitation. 240hz support would be nice.

As others have said it is an engine limitation, best bet would be 'dbd 2' but im sure that wont happen for years if at all

120 is surely good enough.
60 increased to 120 is a good difference, but above 120 is barely noticeable. 120 to 144 or even 240 will be more placebo effect than anything. The differences will be nearly imperceptible.
