Why tunneling is so prevelent and a question to the devs.

I would like to provide some gameplay footage circulating on the game's subreddit to showcase the sort of absurd survivors that you can go against, which know how to abuse every single little thing in this game to their advantage.

https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/s/gz4uFKg7wv

This overwhelmingly negative killer experience is very common, probably because of the recent MMR changes.

The game also feels frustrating on the survivor side with rampant tunneling and camping. While eliminating this "behaviour" is not possible, it has been greatly increased by recent badly designed updates. Here are some suggestions to combat this:

1 - Rework/remove for the people and buckle up combo, not a healthy thing for the game simply, there's already currently strong tools like flashlight, flashbang/firecracker, sabotage saves and pallet saves to invalidate killer chases. Anything that is uncounterable is going to feel bad, period.

2 - Revert killer blinds, it is too easy and requires no skill now, honestly just makes SWF bullying easier, the worst part of it is that there is no counter with background player, flashbangs and firecrackers can get you even if you are completely facing a wall.

3 - Rework/remove background player, fun for altruistic survivors but doesn't fit in the game and is unbalanced, just another tool for SWF to have all the fun at the expense of the killer player.

4 - Gen regression overall was completely neutered for no good reason. M1 killers with no mobility have no chance now. Revert these changes.

5 - Save the best for last is up for a rework, while I respect Otzdarva's opinion on why it should nerfed and understand the reasoning this perk is vitally important for M1 killers who you guessed it, don't really have any stronger secondary type of attack or mobility options. It is the only reason those killers feel playable and fun. No changes are needed for this perk.

6 - Supposedly there is upcoming 3 gen changes, nobody likes 3 gen scenarios, it is boring for the killer and the survivors but admittedly often times it is the only thing you can rely on as killer, especially if you are on a huge map with super safe gens that are hard to patrol. If this is changed gens need to be less safe and maps need to be smaller.

7 - Game used to be a lot more fun and varied before MMR. Remove this but obviously keep some kind of mechanism to stop brand new players from playing with more experienced players. New players should have a separate queue for a certain amount of games. Bad sports players should also have a separate queue along with the confirmed hackers. (Bad sports queue should be reserved for those with a very high amount of reports in tandem with behaviours that include disconnecting daily, suiciding on hook early in the game and abusive post-game chat messages.)

My question to the devs is, is this how you envision killer gameplay?. If not why are you not taking steps to change the underlying problems mentioned above which contribute to these negative experiences for both new players and experienced players alike?.

As a Singularity main, this video hurt me. Especially considering that GIGACHAD is using a controller to play the hardest killer in the game. I feel bad for him.

But aside from that, -no- to all of these changes except for 1 and 2. Flashlight changes are way too oppressive with Background Player and firecrackers. It's ridiculous how often its starting to happen. To those of you who might say "look at a wall" or "search the area", good luck. There isnt always a wall, and trust me, you dont have the time to search the perimeter.

FTP + Buckle Up is self explanatory.

Teams like the one in that clip are exceedingly rare and do not accurately represent the average dbd experience.

Yes, this is an acute example to demonstrate how oppressive saves have become, obviously this team is on another level but plays like that are common when playing against SWF especially at high MMR. I should have worded it better.

Yeah, I have been losing my mind as killer with this #########. I understand they want saves to be easier for newer players but this makes it even easier for experienced players. It's not just the timing though, even when I manage to look away in time from the flashbang/firecracker all the way to the side or up it still gets me. Terrible design.
