In my opinion, hatch is a toxic mechanic that makes playing dbd not as enjoyable.

  1. It makes two last survivors to just stealth instead of repairing gens. How many times killer chased you for long enough time to repair gen, but instead last survivor stealthed waiting for you to fall down and be hooked? Same problem for the killer, usually if there is two survivors left you are just playing game of hide and seek, because none of them repair gens. IMO its not really enjoyable.
  2. Endgame slugging, when killer doesnt hook survivor because he wants to do -4. Its never enjoyable to just sit there for addition 5 minutes just because killer wants -4.

Of course, hatch creates its bright moments and cool highlights, and greatly evolved from what it was previously. But its still unhealthy mechanic that causes toxic and unenjoyable gameplay from both survivors and killers.
