Face camping
Why is the face camping meter gone when the last gen is done it should be taken off when a exit gate is opened cause your dead either way but kinda sucks that I keep getting face camped at the end of the game cause these killer don't know how to kill and my teammates never do anything to help me or others just themselves

Where is the killer supposed to go after all generators have been repaired? Check the open gates so you can get your free escape? Or maybe patrol totems? What..?

Because camping is perfectly valid at endgame. The killers objectives are hooking survivors and defending gens, and if all the gens are done there's no reason to leave a hooked survivor.
Survivors are similarly under less pressure at endgame, they either escape or they help their team mates, they no longer have to juggling gen repairs as well. Survivors can put all their efforts into healing up and making a hook save, or they can leave.

This is correct. The gate may be closed, but the instant you unhook yourself, a teammate can open it and there would be nothing the Killer can do to stop it.
At the end of the match, there is not much else the Killer can do. There's no more generators to patrol, and if they stray too far, someone will definitely unhook them. If they're not around to stop that, they'll be most of the way to the gates by the time they get back. Tempting Survivors to risk it all and make the save is one of the few things they can do at that point in the match.

On another note, I'm saddened by the fact that pre-endgame you can have two survivors on hooks in the same room, but you CAN'T camp them because of anti-camp. 😥 *sad Bubba noises* 😢

There are tons of situational perks that lose their functionality depending on how the game progreses.
Unbreakable without getting slugged, Renewal/Deliverance without getting a heal in time, DS without getting downed in 60 seconds, Lethal Persuer when everyone runs Distortion, Self Care against Plague, any Hex perk that gets cleansed.
OtR and DS are designed to help you when you get tunneled. If you've made it to endgame, you haven't been tunneled, you've had every chance to play.
DS particularly during endgame made it impossible to sacrifice a survivor. If you down them within about 30 meters of an exit, you can't pick them up because they wiggle off and escape, you can't leave them on the ground because they crawl out. Anyone hooked with DS as the last gen is repaired is essentially guaranteed an escape providing their team mates don't abandon them.
You still have this kinda with basekit endurance, if you're hooked near an exit it's basically a free escape as long as you can run to it within 10 seconds, but the killer can play around it, they know it exists and they can attempt to hook you further from an exit.

The real question is what purpose does the meter actually serve at all. Without kindred there is no way for a solo team to know someone is being camped without going to investigate. And in the process of doing that, the meter gets slowed down to a crawl and almost never results in self unhook anyway.

I never fully understood why they stopped. Probably because too many people used it for too many different meanings.
Some used it as "careful, killer is camping" and other goofes for "killer is gone save me".
There was no universal consent for it's meaning.

To the killer, it means losing what should be entirely fair hooks/kills virtually every second game.
DS used to work in endgame. We don't need to speculate. We lived it.

This feature doesn't work at all , they just camp from a little further and goes back and forth, the bar isn't even at 50% when you reach second stage. They rather get this feature out cause in my experience it's even more frustrating to see the killer camping and don't see the bar fill up. It makes the endgame actually easier cause the killer just give up in front of the last hooked survivor. They should add something like a reverse bloodlust, so when the killer is camping and tunelling they have less movement speed and smaller ranges to hit like T1 Myers and then i think we'll see real changes in the mindset and gameplays

Wasn't that bad.
You try to tunnel at the end of the game, survivor uses DS and leave. You move on to the next match.
It has always been fair play on their part.

It isn't a punishment. Playing nice the entire match didn't make you entitled to a kill at the end.
Choosing to tunnel at the end of the game was the same as choosing to accept the risk of Decisive Strike. It was natural.

Nothing but the knowledge that tunneling is frowned upon.
For some players that is enough. For others it isn't, hence the sheer wave of tunneling we're currently seeing.
Also the reason we need 5 seconds DS back.

I do think that both things have to happen. A punishment for tunneling and a reward for doing something else.

I remember the days that one match I played fair with 5 hooks and 5 Gens done, managed to get a few hooks and slug in end game and I ate 3 DS.
Punishment is a must, since no reward can ever greater than 1 survivor out of the match.
Thought the game is not balanced around 12 hooks (means not balancing around 4K every match), but rather ~6-10 hooks for that 60%. If they totally remove tunneling and force to spread hook and balance the strength from there, killers would guarantee to have at least a kill, at the same time they would never able to 4K. The out come of all matches are likely fixed.
Tunneling "should" stay, but its just not as stupidly op as it is now.

I feel it mostly as an necessary evil in my matches. If survivors get too efficient for me to handle, something that can easily happen as a pig player, i need to resort to unfun strategies to have a chance at winning.
Sometimes it workes out, sometimes it doesnt.

Well, DS discourages tunneling and BBQ with its bloodpoint gains encouraged the killer to hook everyone at least once.
Sure, they cannot force every single player out there to avoid tunneling, but the situation was far better with those perks around.

But what if you get ionto the 3v1 and you have 1 gen left that is already being worked on because the survivors are coordinated and you are playing someone like Freddy?

It doesn’t really matter how coordinated they are. You can still tunnel/camp one survivor out at the start of the match and that’s going to severely hinder the survivors. At best they’ll have two people working on gens at any given time. And even if you’re playing Freddy, you’ll still win the war of attrition. Survivors will run out of resources, you’ll outpace them (bloodlust), they’ll make some sort of mistake that nets you a down. Any killer can employ this strategy. It’s why tunneling is complained about so much.

Im so sorry to play that card, but against the teams i go against, when im playing Freddy, im losing 2 to 3 gens for my first down. Thats an m1 killer against map offerings for you.

This surprised me too. Hook gymnastics was an ideal way of letting others know what the situation was, at least on a first hook. Yet even when discussions were put down, people didn't seem to want to agree (and yes, this is a very tiny portion of the playerbase, but still).
If a small guide was put in the game tutorial, that may have helped. Personally, I thought doing quick, short movements meant the Killer was near (simulating panic and shouting at others to stay away), and longer movements mimicked trying to unhook yourself, meaning it was safe to do so.

Do you play maps? IIRC, killer’s map offering supersedes the survivor’s offering. May help. And also Corrupt helps to mitigate Freddy’s slow start. Also Freddy is (poorly) anti-loop. He isn’t an m1 killer.

That isn't how map offerings work.
What is your definition of an M1 Killer? I thought most agreed an M1 Killer is one that can only down survivors through basic M1 attacks.

I use a map offering if i have 4 p100 survivors with 4 med kits in my lobby as pig. Then im gonna send myself to Midwich because i want to have a match and not a complete stomp.
Generally im not a fan of map offerings, because they give an extreme advantage to the player, or players, using it. I like to have a more even playingfield when loading into the match. I know.... a rare mindset in DBD.
As i said before, using corrupt is already counting in perks.
I normally play pallet Freddy. Thats literally an m1 killer. Also i have to say: have you played snare Fraddy in recent times? It does not give you hits at all. Freddy is probably as close to pure m1 as we can get right now besides legion

The problem is, that if you don't tunnel as killer (which is a valid counterplay to DS), you get punished for that during the EGC, when the exit is open and they either crawl out or you pick them up, get DSed, have to watch them t-bag and then leave. There was literally nothing you could do.
The most dumbest escapes i managed was with Deliverance, SB and DS. I was at the complete opposite side of the map and still got out because of DS. You can guess how salty the killer was.

I know that corrupt is great. Its great on almost every killer. But in a discussion about the strenght of tunneling i dont think specific perks should be an counter argument.

I could swear not Queen mentioned waaay back when that the killer’s map offering had greater weight since they could only produce one while survivors could together produce 4. And no people don’t agree on that. An m1 killer is a killer with no anti-loop abilities. To say an m1 killer is a killer who can down only by m1 would mean there are only three non-m1 killers (?) in the game & that the best killers are just m1 killers… that everyone screams are the weakest killers and need colossal buffs. See how the argument falls apart? Look at it crumble.

Tunneling as a come back. Its acceptable for most survivor.
Tunneling right at the beginning, especially if the first survivor down early. Its a guarantee win.
I dont say early down is bad for survivor in general, it would be a close match if killer play fair, but its a lose if killer tunnels. Survivors can not tell which direction killer will go. Its pretty much in survivors' mind that the first down should only happens after at least 2 Gens done, or its guarantee lose, since survivors dont have come back mechanic like killers with tunneling.
Except tunneling not really a come back mechanic as they can pull out at any moment of the match as killer feel like.
- They may start secure a kill when Gates are powered?
- They may start to tunnel with 2 Gens left?
- They may start to tunnel after getting the 1st hook with 3 Gens left?
- Double tunneling, where killers go between only 2 survivors?
- They may tunneling right in the beginning. Do not care if survivors are completely newbies?
There are alot of gray zone and each will have their own definition of tunneling. If you're not getting more than 2K, its only because you didnt tunneling earlier than you should.
And as killer, you would win most of the match if tunneling right in the beginning, this part is the point why I think tunneling is insanely OP. You only lose if survivor is out skill you by a mile, which on paper, you should never win.

This is exactly why the meter needs to stay or DS and OTR need to remain in the endgame. If 4 survivors are still alive when the generators are completed, it was a tough match. It happens to everyone. Getting one kill during the endgame is like scoring a touchdown with no time left on the clock when the score is 28-0. Now it's 28-6. Good for you :)
