Can survivors speaking during the trial please not become a new thing for all future licenses?

Okay, I'm sure it's an extremely hot take, but for myself, I find the characters randomly speaking during a trial sort of annoying. I know it's client sided so your teammates nor the killer will hear, but I just dislike it, and it can, for me, honestly be distracting, admittedly. Sort of like when you're trying to focus on something and someone keeps talking in your ear unwarranted.

For the Lobby? I don't mind. I just always think of Benedict Baker's journal entries, specifically one about Nea when he states "yelling out" to her isn't a smart idea during a trial.

I honestly thought it'd be something just special to Nicholas Cage. For my friend group and I alone, we all found out we avoid playing him for that very reason, lol. It seems it might be including Alan Wake in the near future when he joins the live roster.

If you enjoy it - I think that's great. But I'd at least like an option to turn it off or something. I would be completely bummed if I got a dream chapter of mine and the survivor(s) had that fate - but I know it's all-in-all a more self-centered concern.

I presume it’s gonna be a feature of all one licensed survivor chapters from now on

Even with your explanation, I can't fathom why you wouldn't want to hear Nic Cage talking. Unless of course his voice is just annoying in general to someone.

I definitely don't want them to drop voice lines from future characters. But the option to turn it off sounds fine.

I wish I could turn off most of the characters dialogue. I really only enjoy chucky’s.

I think Nic Cage and Alan Wake get mid-trial voicelines because they are voiced by the actual Nic Cage and Alan Wake's real voiceactor. They're getting their money's worth out of them. If Ash Williams was added today with Bruce Campbell's voicework, they'd probably do it for him too.

But a toggle for character voicelines would be a good feature to have.

Not everyone is a Nicolas Cage-Fan. For me he is another Skin and I prefer my Skins to not talk.

    @Topic:

Yeah, stuff like that is long overdue. If they want to make characters blabbering all the time, they should at least give an option to disable this. For both sides, I dont need Chucky be talking the whole time for example.

Options would probably be best, yes, because contrary to the OP, Alan Wake's voicework is actually making me more likely to get him.

I'm surprised people are getting the voicelines enough for this to be wanted, any survivor with voicelines i play just outright say nothing all match aside from the grunts and screams.

i mean i think "hearing killer voicelines but not ur own" would be a nice 4th option, i do like tricksters and pinheads voice lines

Then you might as well also add ''hearing only Survivor voicelines'' & ''hearing everyone's voicelines'' to the list.

You can also go the advanced route if you want and have an on & off toggle option for every talking character.

As Killer I just want to be able to hear Nicolas Cage.

I think you need to refine your argument a little better. Annoying and distracting is pretty subjective, so you need to define WHY you find it annoying/distracting. Is it that the lines are too repetative? Do they interrupt you trying to listen for in game cues too much? Does the characters voice just grate on you?

For example if I play Devil's Advocate, the obvious counter argument is:

Why you would play a character with voice lines, if you don't want their voice lines? Their voice is a key part of what makes that character that character... The only way I can think of to explain it is by saying "I want a Peter Venkman survivor, but I want the character to remain silent, and I don't want to hear Bill Murray's voice throughout the whole trial"... it's like OK? Why the hell would you play Peter Venkman then in the first place? Bill Murray's charisma and charm, and quips in the moment is what makes the character, the character... no different to Cage or Wake... by muting them, the character loses their identity, and it kinda becomes pointless even adding them.

To be clear, I'm not objecting... It's a harmless feature that only affects your own game, so it's not a problem... but I think it's a odd thing to request that vast majority of players who want to play as that character won't care about, and in a lot of cases be baffled why it's even an option... so it doesn't make it a likely thing to get added without strong reasoning.

I love the voice lines and would love to hear them from all survivors!

As Chucky player, I want to say that option to turn off phrases would be amazing
