Making your own fun

Yo!

In dbd, sometimes you play so long you start finding ways to make your own fun. I'm curious if Im the only one who does it extensively?

I use my forum name typically. If I see a mori in the offering screen, I get all excited. Sometimes though... the killer will mori everyone and lt me go. Ugh... Sometimes they'll tunnel me out and be bored while gens get done lol. The best with when they play to 2 hook everyone and then mori me.

Anyone else do things like this? I've even a build to play around all these killer reactions lol.

Agreed, we all make our own fun and find different things to make our matches interesting. it's also the mindset you have when booting up the game.

Some are in it for the chases and killer interaction and set their builds accordingly. Others, like myself, might prefer more of a background role: doing gens, getting saves and heals while the killer is occupied elsewhere.

Win streaks, hardcore challenges, random perk streaks etcetera are a nice way to spice up one's gameplay. I would personally never commit to those things since I'm just not good enough at the game and it would only make for a frustrating experience. It's quite literally a skill isssue on my part :P.

I'm all for the grind, working towards prestige goals and getting characters leveled up. That is something you can do regardless of how a match goes and is a realistic goal to pursue (at least for me). I like farming in games, whether it is for levels or resources or whatever.

Flashbangs, especially when about to leave. If the gates are open, I ll have to go grab a flashbang just to leave with a bang.

Sprinting to a locker or basement when broken LOS and then slowly leaving. Idea is try and get the killer to go into the basement and/or check all the lockers 😅

When downed, I always position myself right in front of a window/vault so that the killer accidentally steps through it instead of picking me up. Still makes me laugh, especially when they do it twice 🤣

    As killer

Can't have fun, or you get beat ..... or barraged in the messages section.

lol those are awesome lol. Especialy the 'kek vaults' lol.

I dont understand the killer sider though. I usually mess with the survivors and have fun, and still get 4k's if I choose too.

But the forums/twitter/etc have made it 'real' now that killers need to try-hard or lose. I just don't experience that. Ah well.

Good grasp of things lol. Its fun seeing others in a match do things that are 'fun' and just watching lol. I mean, whilst doing a gen.

If that's your real name I think I've faced you a couple of times! I didn't bring a Mori though :D. However, this brings me on to making my own fun.

I keep entertained because every build I do is completely randomised. I use a randomizer to select my Perks, Items, add-ons and Offerings, with sometimes me not even getting an item at all!

However, every single Trial feels different. I make the most with what I have and am often very surprised some of the lesser Perks can be. Also, it means I have to focus more on my skill and knowledge, allowing me to think more and this has really improved my gameplay.

I also play 50/50, but admit I'm a better Killer than Survivor. I also set tasks during a Trial to focus on (like try to get an Iri Emblem in a specific category). All these things make the Trials so much more enjoyable. Unpredictability is what keeps this game fresh, and the only real unpredictability I can count on is what I can make for myself.

    Asking away!

Ill give mine also. Sole survivor, Object of Obsession, Calm spirit, Dead Hard.

Object works to get the killer to see me. If they kill others, I know their answer. So sole survivor will kick in and make Object stop working more or less. Same effect can be used with distortion instead of Sole, but to much less effect.

Calm due to UW, and DH due to my reliance on my one and only. lol

Might try 3 genning my friends though... sounds like a damn blast lol

If I'm playing Mikey and I get the Lab, I love playing hide n seek or peek-a-boo with survivors. I really enjoy the jumpscare factor of playing a stealth killer.

The most fun I’ve had in this game was when I switched from playing as a typical Survivor or Killer and started playing Scratched Mirror Myers with the primary objective being to scare people rather than kill them. It’s so funny and satisfying to do especially when you get invited to a streamers lobby so you can see the clips of them and their teammates screaming their lungs out.

Absolutely, always. I love to read a lot plus I love scary movies. So whenever I play it’s always through the lens of a story/scary movie. It makes it feel so much more immersive and it lets me appreciate all the finer details in the game. It’s really why I keep coming back.

I messed around with on builds on my characters or get some training on killers.
