Isn't it really easy to solve people taking the game hostage?
This is BHVR's definition of holding the game hostage:
Wouldn't removing collisions for like five seconds, when you get a crow above your head or something, literally solve this issue? Why do we have to report people playing like that when preventing its existence entirely would take less effort?

Although this would solve the issue somewhat, BHVR isn't going to implement anything like this. Holding a game hostage through body blocking in a corner or something similar, is not something that happens a lot and would not be that impactful of a change. If you're being body blocked and the game can't progress, if you have to wait more than say 5 minutes, just dc.

How would that solve it somewhat? You'll be able to leave the corner instead of having to DC and eat a matchmaking ban in less than five minutes. It's a really simple change to implement and would allow a whole report option to become obsolete.

It would only solve it somewhat because it wouldn't prevent it from happening, leaving players to still have the chance to hold the game hostage.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be a nice change, because in the odd case, it would help a lot and the game could keep progressing. It's just killers or survivors holding the game hostage happens rarely, therefore the change is not that impactful and realistically doesn't actually need to happen.
I get your point and I see how this would help the rare case, but realistically there are much more important issues BHVR should focus on.

How would it still happen if you cannot take the game hostage anymore? You'd be able to LEAVE the corner, therefore no one is being held hostage because it's impossible. A change like this isn't anything too crazy, in terms of effort, and it would lessen the workload on the people reviewing report cases. Something being rare doesn't mean anything. Blight running overpowered add-ons is rare, and yet that is getting changed next update.

That makes sense, I was just thinking, what if the player is hacking or if they body block again? Again, a rare chance any of those will happen.
Sure, a change like this isn't that big of a deal and will most likely be over looked, but there's still ways to counter it without needing this. AKA not putting yourself in a position where the other player has a chance to body block you or just dcing and going next.
Blight's overpowered add-ons are used quite frequently, and is unrelated to the topic we're on? How can you possibly compare blight's add-ons to a game being held hostage? Do you even play the game?

If a player is hacking, would you report them for holding the game hostage ot hacking? I would certainly report them for hacking instead. Blatant hackers I've gone against just teleport and insta-down survivors and go next, subtle hackers aren't going to be so silly to do that.
The only counter you provided was to DC, which is unsportsmanlike conduct. Not getting in the situation is like saying don't get tunneled, sometimes it just happens and you're trying to justify it as if the survivor deserves it.
Blights with overpowered add-ons are not all that common. You'll genuinely see them running one yellow and one green add-on as they keep the rest for SWFs or when they want to let their wrath loose because they are mad. It's related to the topic because they are rare. I haven't faced a pubstomper Blight in four-five months. Haven't seen a game hostage in six months. I play the game, play both roles on and off.

I get that you want more to counter body blocking to hold the game hostage, but as you said, for yourself you haven't seen a game hostage in 6 months. It's rare. Just take the DC and go next. The change is never going to happen as BHVR has other changes that are their priority.
Not getting into the situation where you can be body blocked is quite simple, just don't run to spaces in chase where you can be cornered. I get sometimes it happens accidentally and can happen just due to collision. Tunneling is a completely different aspect of the game. It's a playstyle (not a fun one) and isn't a form of taking the game hostage. There are perks to counter tunneling too, if you're scared of it, just bring perks to counter it. I would much rather someone DC when they're being body blocked and have a bot take over than just let it happen. Chances are they're going to stop the body blocking as soon as the bot takes over.
Blights with overpowered add-ons are common. The speed add-ons are overpowered and are ones that people were wanting to be changed, alongside alc ring. I suppose it depends on MMR but for me, I face at least 4+ blights monthly who run overpowered add-ons.
As my point stands, it's a rare occurrence to have your game be held hostage through body blocking, so just take the DC or wait until the actual game disconnects you. I have 1k hours on dbd and have never experienced a game where I've been held hostage from body blocking and I have friends with 3k+ hours and have also never experienced anything of the sort.
I get your point and all, but why are you so focused on having this change done if it hasn't happened to you/you haven't seen it in 6 months?

I suppose I worded that wrong, I meant it more like, BHVR has a lot of things they are working on and even if they do look into it, they will most likely just throw it aside since it's not something that the community as a whole is complaining about.
I also wanted to use this comment to mention that another way to counter it is to bring a pink key, as that avoids collision with the killer when used.
