Please fix proximity camping
95% of games killers simply proximity camp and it's the best, no-skill strategy to get a 4k. Please BHVR do something to solve this quality of life issue for survivors. You could kill it overnight by doing these things:
- TELEPORT OCCUPIED HOOKS: When a person is hook, the survivor and hook transport elsewhere, exactly like the cage of atonement, or give the survivors a perk that does the same thing.
- RAISE BLOCK CAP: Raise the limit on how many times players can block other players - we should be allowed to block killers who continuously proximity camp as their base strategy.
- FIX THE ANTI-FACE CAMPING MECHANIC: This is only about proximity camping in that you are training a generation of killers on how far away from the hook to stand. So, allow the timer to continue if the killer is above you (e.g. proximity camping the basement) or a survivor is nearby and being chased (not realizing they are killing you by being in your proximity). These are far more common occurrences than the concerns about what might happen for the killer.
- ALLOW SOLO SURVIVORS TO PLAY CUSTOM GAMES AGAINST AI KILLERS: Even if just giving us quicker/easier access to the tutorial with Trapper and allowing survivors to switch the maps. This doesn't directly help proximity camping, but survivors need some love since the 6.0.1 patch war against survivors.

So what you're saying is you want 100% completely free unhooks.
32 -
The teleporting thing can never be allowed into the game. If survivors are allowed free unhooks than what is the point of hooking to begin with? Better off to go with 4 man slugs at this point.
20 -
@Raconteurminator @pigslittlepet But its fine to have free hooks or trading into slug and tunnel? Killer double standards as always.
Bhvr never even tried to fix anything related to killer strategies. They just made band aid fixes for minor issues, ignoring the underlying issue eegarding core gameplay. And those had little to no effect on the core issue. Bt didnt fix tunneling. Anti face camp didnt fix camping. Anti 3 gens doesnt fix 3 gens. You see how this works.

You're working on the assumption that I'm taking sides here, rather than just pointing out the flawed logic behind the requests. Just because you play the Them Vs. Us game doesn't mean everyone else does as well. I don't care whether someone is a Survivor main or a Killer main; a good idea is a good idea and a bad idea is a bad idea. The OP is a classic example of a bad idea.

In an average game, no it can’t be worked around. Generally speaking, if the killer wants to proxy camp/tunnel someone out, no amount of body blocking or second chance perks is going to stop that from happening (especially in solo q). To save someone that’s being tunneled usually requires 5 things: 1. They have to be able to loop for 1.5 to 2 minutes at a time 2. All other survivors must focus purely on gens 3. 2-3 gens must pop before the first down 4. The killer doesn’t have 2-4 slowdowns 5. not a top tier killer
It’s a tall order for solo survivors meanwhile it’s incredibly easy for the killer to do and be effective.

Maybe "Bhvr never even tried to fix anything related to killer strategies" because they understand that fine, a killer standing just in front of the hook made almost impossible to make a save, so we are going to grant the hooked survivor a free BT with haste, remove unhook grabs, and add an AFC system so the killer have to move away from the hook granting survivors a chance to do a save while the killer can still defend his hook and punish survivor for their mistakes.
But you don't want to have a chance so you or your teammates can fix your mistakes, what you want is for the game to cover every possible mistake you made so you are never punished for them. In other words, what you want is to never lose.
That's the only possible reason for you people to still complaining at this point.

Fixing proximity camping is a bad idea?
1 -
You see, there's fixing and then there's "fixing." Fixing your loose shelf is a good thing, fixing your loose shelf with gasoline and a box of matches is a bad thing. The idea in the OP is firmly in the camp of, "My wall is on fire but at least the shelf no longer wobbles slightly when I put a book on it".
9 -
It's not going to happen. Not because it's something that should be fixed, but because it's in the list of arbitrary rules BHVR made up about their poor gameplay design and the usual sycophants will chime in and call it a "legitimate strategy".
Good killers win by attrition. Lazy killers try to "win" using the shopping list approach.

Are you serious? Do you play on Internet explorer or something?
Bt didnt fix tunneling. Anti face camp didnt fix camping. Anti 3 gens doesnt fix 3 gens. You see how this works.
You should learn meaning of word "try".
Face camping is not removed?
BT didn't help survivors at all? Free perk is not valid now?

Blocking doesn't prevent matchmaking from matching you with people you've blocked.
Hooks are simply an objective and killers are free to defend them.

Proximity Camping IS annoying and boring to face, I think bHVR should also do something about it.

Man, I always see you on the ass-end of undeserved salt. You bring up valid concerns my friend. Don't know why everyone's always so quick to insult your opinions.

Nothing wrong with proximity camping. Killers are expected to defend hooks. However, I have always though that the person getting unhooked as long as there are still gens to repair, should become invisible to all players, make no sounds, no blood, can't interact with anything, loses player collision, and no scratch marks for 10 seconds. This gives ample time for them to get to safety while also not allowing them to weaponize it with bodyblocking.

Man I heard people say there would be complaints about proxy camping and patrolling nearby hooks after the anti-facecamp was made but I thought it would be silly.
Guess I was proven wrong.

That's my issue with all of this, the constant goal post moving. Survivors complain about this, and BHVR reacts with oh they must change that. Now they complain about that, BHVR quickly hops on board to nerf that too. Now complaints about something else, you bet that's getting nerfed, now.
Now killers have a long line of rules of what they are and are not allowed to do. Can't hit people off hook, no sir. Nope, you're not allowed to grab people doing an unsafe hook, nope! No, you can't stack slow regression perks on a gen that merely needed to be tapped to counter - you're so silly! No, killer, you're not allowed to be at a hook, now you have to go stand way over there. Nope, you're not allowed to kick this gen more than 8 times - are you crazy? Eruption? Don't be silly, now you can't use it more than 4 times on a gen! Now you must just watch that gen get more and more progress and there is NOTHING you're allowed to do to change that despite being right there in front of you with no survivors around.
Next up, it'll be proxy camping that "must be fixed" followed by being able to block gens from being worked on. Eventually, all that's left is to have killers standing in a corner waiting for the survivors to sign a consent form to be able to even be attacked.

Maybe we should have a rule where once you hook a survivor, you immediately run to the opposite side of the board. Is that easy enough for you?
dozens of pallets, endless windows, always an escape out even if you just w-key and panic. It just can't get any easier my friend.

OK.
We're no strangers to hook~♪ (hook 60s for a stage)
You know the rules and so do I~♪ (16m ant-camp、TELEPORT、10s buff、Activated perk)
A wholehearted sacrifice's what I'm thinking of~♪ (even not hook)
You wouldn't get this from any other guy~♪ (another killer will play same as this)
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling~♪ (Don't want to win, just want to torture)
Gotta make you understand~♪ (In the match, use practical actions to make you understand.)
Never gonna hook you up~♪ (Because hook survivor is useless)
Never gonna Dropped you down~♪ (because killer never pick survivor up)
Never gonna run around and desert you~♪ (camp downed survivor)
Never gonna make you dry~♪ (will pick up survivor in 3m59s)
Never gonna say goodbye~♪ (let survivor Down from the killer's shoulder)
Never gonna pick you up and hook you~♪ (just slug)

That is very nice of you to say. I appreciate it.

Can't wait for entitled survivors to complain about Billy and for them to nerf him to the ground again. Soon it'll feel like he never received a rework in the first place, although I hope BHVR proves me wrong.

So returning to this original post 11 months later. Return to hook is now part of the games DNA and I have a rhetorical follow-up: "why do we have gens anymore?" A majority of my games have killers that now just prox camp and return to hook (or transport there) and so, it seems logical. Remove gens, let the last survivor find hatch, and be done.
I think there are a lot of good points on this thread, btw. BHVR devs have also done a great job balancing the game to their ~60% kill rate, albeit some bumps. The game isn't as fun for survivors as a result , in my opinion, including map changes like Ormond and the Coldwind Farms realm. No buffs to perks like Chem Trap will improve survivors experience, although good try. BHVR could improve loops near hooks, slightly move killer teleport devices away from hooks and maybe some creative perk additions to protect those who unhook, but I fear BHVR won the battle and lost the war. New killers have return to hook as their main skill and not much else and I often feel I'm playing against a dev design rather than a person.
