Can we have an FoV slider that isn't the bare minimum effort?
Can we have an FoV slider that isn't the bare minimum effort? This is the only major quality of life or accessibility feature announced for killers, and it feels like no one cares.
The FoV slider should also be a quality of life feature, and it should go up to 110 horizontal FoV.
I've played so many games with FoV sliders, and compared to all those games, the DBD FoV slider is the absolute saddest FoV range I've ever seen. When BHVR announced the FoV slider, I honestly couldn't imagine they would consider 87 to 103 (horizontal FoV) as a real FoV range.
Alternately, can we get an option to remove the obnoxious floating hands and weapons from the killer screen, unless the killer is trying to aim their M2 power? Part of the reason why the FoV in this game feels so bad, is because killers don't get to see their entire screen because their hands or weapons are blocking the view. Why do they need to be there? I can feel "immersed" in first person viewpoints, without Dredge's rift arms taking up like 20% of my screen. There are so many killer cosmetics I can't use because they block so much of the screen.

I haven't personally tried out the FoV slider, I just wasn't interested, but I don't think it's the "bare minimum". They could've just not done anything and kept it exactly the same.
And the last part is really not a good idea imo... Sure some of the killers weapons are big, but like, the screen would be bare if they just removed them entirely. I really dislike that idea.

You don't think BHVR should at least make some of the weapons smaller, or force weapons to be closer to the edge of the screen? You think the below pictures are acceptable?

Plagues is really bad too. Her weapon covers so much. I could be wrong, but I believe behavior does this intentionally.

That looks like an issue with that Dredge skin. I went in and tested this on my own, and it's really not that bad. Not sure why yours looks so bad.
I don't see this as too much of an issue tbh.

1) The skin has ragdoll physics if the killer moves the camera quickly. It also covers more or less of the screen, depending on how high or low the camera is facing.
2) Your screenshot still has the skin covering like 20% of the screen? Really? You think that's fine? Would it be fine if BHVR caused injured survivors to have 20% of their screen covered in blood?

Yeah me personally, I don't see a problem... I guess I wouldn't be against reducing the size, but it's definitely not a big problem to me. It's not like I can't see what's happening, tbh you're the first person that I've seen complain about something like this.
I just really don't like your idea of completely removing the weapon from the screen entirely. That is what I don't like.

"some animations would need to be updated" and that's why most of the suggested things in this post would never happen.
I'm pretty sure that Skull Merchant's design included heels at first. How I know? Because she still walks like she had them...
A lot of animations in the game, including those of recently released killers, need an upgrade. But animation is one if not the most costly part of 3D graphics, both in money and time. So, guess what BHVR will never do.

I really don't think BHVR cares that much about many of the 1st person clipping and animation issues. Holding a hatchet causes Huntress to constantly dislocate the bones in her throwing arm, rift Dredge's arm has the clipping issues I showed above, and some of Spirit's sleeves still terribly ragdoll around her hands.
And if the issue is the killer animations, then BHVR could just say so. But they've been so silent and uncaring about this entire FoV slider, that it's much more likely they just don't want to do it. The entire time we've been waiting for the FoV slider, they've refused to tell us the FoV range of the slider, we get zero previews or teasers of the FoV slider, and the FoV slider got released with so many other things that it has the least amount of feedback of all this PTB. We couldn't even get a pinned thread dedicated to just the FoV slider, as people kept using the FoV thread to complain about the new UI.
Does everyone remember the survivor HUD, where we got a whole bunch of previews and teasers, and someone from BHVR rushed to the forums to let us know how excited BHVR was to release the survivor HUD??? It was such a celebration, and it really felt like BHVR was happy to talk about the feature, and was happy to give the feature to survivors. None of that happened with the FoV slider. We don't get any discussions from BHVR, about whether or not they discussed a bigger FoV range. No thought process or anything.

No. because game balance is tied to those values. Obviously.

"The bare minimum" would be to do nothing, becuase Shadowborn was already increasing FOV.
Instead they've made Shadowborn pseudo-basekit, which is fine. As for cosmetic issues, that's a cosmetic issue, not an FOV issue.

This FoV slider is the bare minimum, because there were too many comments about accessibility.
