PC VS Console
So I play Xbox and I’ve not truly enjoyed DBD since the forced crossplay. Most of my matches were cheaters (the worst was right after the update, flying survivors every 5 or so matches. Thankfully less of that nowadays now it’s speed snails) showed up was against pc players and more often than not PC players seem to be the more cracked out players that can spin on a dime and micro dodge because pressing A or D while holing W is easier than moving on a thumb stick.
I get they wanted to combine their player bases so they can bring it into one big fold, but why not do what other platforms did and just have it be Console to Console?

Controller sensitivity is so low we have to imagine we're spinning out the killers like PC players lmao. And we're the only ones that actually feels caps like on Blight's rushes or Oni's.

Console-only cross-play would be amazing.
Nintendo Switch has been cut of from cross-play a couple times due to issues in DbD, and my god the matches felt much better when it was just Switch players vs Switch players. I mean, the performance still sucked ass, but we were all suffering together. And getting matches was still instant. There's no turning cross-play off when the game is working normally, though, because then there are no matches to be had whatsoever (I've tried it occasionally and I give up after waiting in the queue for over an hour and not having a single match).
I normally play in a pair with a friend who's on PlayStation, so console-only cross-play would be ideal. Sure, the other consoles have a huge advantage over Switch, but it's having PC in the mix that's the biggest problem.

Unfortunately that is just too much common sense for this dev team to handle. They don't care about their player base, too busy making useless cosmetics for the fools that keep buying them to worry about anything else.

I am almost exclusively a PS5 player, but I do have a Steam account I use sometimes (usually for PTBs), and I also use a controller when playing surv on PC, and M&K for killer.
The biggest problem with the console is the lack of options to tweak your controller settings, not the controller itself.
As for OP's take, while it is easier to make certain quick movements on M&K (like a 360), at a certain level it becomes very hard to actually spin the killer regardless of what equipment you are using. Aim dressing shenanigans are a bigger issue on console, but in most scenarios, getting spun is a skill/experience issue.

But I need ten different backpacks for my main to ruin the entire outfit!

I'm still over here just wanting some KB/M support...

Don't worry friend! They will definitely make more backpack cosmetics. Every survivor shall have no less than 10 useless backpacks!
2 -
I would enjoy having Console-only Crossplay.

With such a hefty demand for them, I doubt they would ever stop! Can't wait for the new Feng cosmetics also!

Everybody knows the real issue this game has...
It's the complete lack of cosmetic options that really let me stand out while my goal is to hide!
It's totally worth the miserable gameplay just so I can be seen by my peers for a few minutes or so I can really let those pesky survivors see what I think is a pretty sweet killer outfit! Makes my whole day better! :)

With their inane backpack fetish, I'd bet they won't be satisfied until every surv looks like a hermit crab

While I too think this would be great, I just don't see it happening. The intent was to combine the playerbase & create one community, and for that reason alone they're unlikely to go back on that. The often glaring performance and gameplay differences (especially on the older gen machines) has always taken a back seat to this imo.
A suspicious mind may say it was also to greatly improve PC queue times, if you have a suspicion mind. Let's think this through:
Say they allow this, and the console players massively opt out of including PC. That means Steam, Epic, and Windows players become isolated from the vast majority of the overall playerbase. Their queue times now are horrendous. Most of the content creators (and each & every one of the Fog Whisperers) are on PC, and they see their queue times all go to poop. Not hard to work out what then follows...
Never gonna happen.

Like how is it even practical to wear a backpack with nothing inside, it practically eliminates most stealth plays, it would add weight that the survivors unnecessarily carry, and they always make them so unique and quirky.

I wish there was more chances to actually appreciate my killer cosmetics outside of just seeing them in the lobby. 1st person cameras really screw over this aspect...
1 -
Might as well just quarantine Epic accounts at that point.

I've said it before, but I feel like it's a lazy way to add some character specific flair to an outfit without having to be creative with the design of the actual outfit. All the while making the outfit less practical in-game, as these monstrosities are distracting to you, and make you way more visible to the killer.
If it was just like 1-2 outfits per character with a goofy thing strapped to the back, but it's out of control.
What's really galling is when the outfit is really cool and totally worth buying, aside from the giant eyesore on the back. I can think of 2-3 in the last few months I would have purchased with actual money if not for the backpack add-on. And one I did buy (Haddie's most recent one) only because I want to support that character.
Also, I have no idea how we ended up on backpacks in this thread, but I'm always up to rant about backpacks.

Then they should try to level the playing field so PC players can’t fully dog on console players because they just have to move their mouse a quarter of an inch and spin like a top.
3 -
How would they do that? Dumb down the PC version? That's no way, nor is it fair.
If we're forever to be trapped on a controller, then I'd love more setting options on them. Sensitivity presets for surv and various killers, deal with the dead zones in the sticks, lessen the input lag, allow more binding possibilities, etc.

I play on both PC and console and I strongly suspect most of my opponents on PC are console players. I know the little globe can mean that they're on Epic or Microsoft, but I still think most of the time I'm playing console gamers (the loading times are a tell. If everyone is on PC, the maps load very quicky).
So for that reason, I don't think they would ever split the player base. PC queue times would go through the roof.
In my opinion, it's choppy / lower frame rates that make playing on console so much more difficult. I play with a controller on PC too and the difference is night and day. The game needs better optimising for the various consoles (especially the older platforms). This would do more to close the gap than anything else.

I think the only ones with a fetish is the community.
Can't really blame bhvr for doing simple supply and demand for something that clearly sells enough for them to continue making those type of cosmetics as more than enough people must be buying them continously.
Bhvr is still a business at the end of the day and if backpacks truly didn't sell well, then they wouldn't have a reason to keep making them.

Console only would be pretty sweet
Can always tell when I’m facing PC MnK players… they’re moving so smooth, and counters are so fluid... At times, it’s kinda like facing the AI on Very Hard mode in a fighting game.

I play on Switch and literally came on just now to make my own thread on this exact topic. I'm really sick of seeing stuff like this 2 to 4 times a night, usually after midnight until 4:00AM. Notice the duplicate add-ons.
It's also infuriating that people make YouTube videos of themselves doing this stuff and teaching it to others 🙄

Yea, they should just stop having the art department trying to make money, work on the game programming that they likely know less if anything about for free until they and their families die homeless of starvation.
In all seriousness, I will never understand players like you that don't understand that games need to make money somehow in order to keep their employees working on the game and to pay other bills to keep the lights and servers running.

Did you even notice that I never said anything about not having new Killers, or Survivors, or even just basic perk DLCs that make money and actually add something to the gameplay?

I'd say the biggest difference is framerate and graphic settings / filters. While fps is mostly fine on the newer generations , console ingame brightness is as dark as intended - no options at all. You can tell the difference when a console surv is versing a Dregde in Nightfall (it's almost pitchblack) or Trapper as his traps are much harder to see. And believe me, just higher the brightness on TV doesn't really help here.
Overall surv on controller with 75%-100% sensitivity is fine. And we don't need to 360 as we know it's not working against good PC killers anyway. I remember we used to "zig zag" or FOV tech against console killers before crossplay, and in my exp even some PC killers fall for that.
Killer is another story. Lower fps and sensitivy makes a bigger difference in first person and in particular technical killers like Huntress, Nurse and Blight take more practice and time to compete. (I mained Huntress on Xbox for a few years but kinda gave up on her as most maps have too much clutter now. Now i just enjoy Xeno. :))

It has nothing to do with bootlicking, it has do with you not understanding that gameplay programmers not doing a sufficient job (in your eyes at least) has nothing to do with cosmetics which is a separate job that usually requires a different skillset. Would you want the busboy or waitress at a restaraunt to be cooking your food? No, that is not their job, its the chef that does that. Would you want the chef to be cleaning the bathrooms? No, that's not their job.
Do you want the receptionist like my cousin at the dentist's office to be giving you a root canal? I should hope not. She's not a D.D.S. trained doctor, she's a receptionist!
