Facecamping should be allowed in basement

With the removal of Facecamping, the basement has become quite useless, if not almost an outright nuisance. Right now it serves little to no purpose, other than camping from afar. I wholly support the removal of facecamping in all of the other hooks, but the basement should be exempt from this rule. Indeed, right now you have to keep track of how far you are from the hooked survivors even if one story above them and there is always the risk that getting another survivor to the basement will let the previous one(s) off the hook. Plus, it would make playing the basement fun and unique!

Basement is not useless at all. It can be pretty death trap againts some killers that can patrol around basement and go for easy downs for anyone daring to lure in.

It doesn't need nerfs or buffs.

The big draw of basement is that the survivors are stuck near it after unhook. I know I have more time to push other survivors when they unhook basement

That's the whole point to get rid of face camping till all gens are done.

No, the basement has a lot going for it:

    1. There's only one approach/exit, and serves as a funnel. You're almost guaranteed multiple hits if survs rush the hook, and at least a trade in most circumstances
    2. Unbreakable hooks
    3. Confined space to do a lot of damage
    4. Easy to trap/monitor

Yes, but only if the killer is Leatherface.

I would settle for this, tbh. I actually got the inspiration to write this post whilst playing as him! It's definitely in-character and could make his playstyle all the more unique. At least, I would vouch for an exception be made to Leatherface, if no one else.

You can proxy camp basement just fine. I went against a Bubba yesterday doing just that, no one was getting out of that basement. It requires slightly more effort than being able to just stand in front of a survivor but it works just fine.

I vote for a rework of the basement so it isn't just a deathtrap. because that's less fun and interesting.

like a second entrance to it that is time sensitive. so survivors have an option early but it doesn't last or isn't repeatable...

but I guess you want more face camping?

How would facecamping make the basement fun and unique? Facecamping is literally the most boring thing in dbd for both sides.

Well, DbD is all about being a killer in a typical 80s ~ 90s movie, and those were definitely full of dungeons, basements and lairs where the killer would live and often drag his victims to. Bubba has been brought as an example time and again, but think of Pennywise, should he ever be added to the game... he literally dragged everyone to his lair in the sewers. Needless to say, such a strategy entails risking survivors doing the gens, but still..

And for the record, I didn't mind being facecamped as a survivor and absolutely loved it as certain killers (Nemesis and Leatherface). Honestly, it was hardly ever a good strategy for killers, and thus no killer aiming to win the game did it; doing away with the whole mechanic was a blasphemy to DbD in the first place, but having it apply to the basement as well is downright heretical.

EDIT: I also know that you can still camp the basement and any other hook, for that matter. But it feels clunky and unrealistic to have to tour around your shed from 3~4 meters, which stills get the same end result as before (i.e. killing any survivor who helps the one in the basement escape). I propose doing away with that clunkiness, which detracts from the game's experience and atmosphere. At the very least, I don't wanna be mindful of how far away from the shed I am and such.
