The Fact That Blight Got Buffed AND We Added a Pseudo-Eruption Meta Is Laughable
That's all.
I've run into four Blight's running The Build (patent pending) with the new infinite rushes or Alc Ring.
I'm just so glad we learned nothing from Eruption.

I'm more and more convinced PTB isn't there for actual input at this point. Just a bug-test and they decide what to change after regardless of any feedback or warnings about this stuff.
I don't think I'll ever participate in another PTB.
15 -
At least you can participate in PTBs
8 -
for me I’ve played 3 games and 1 was a legion and 2 were demogorgons haven’t experienced the new add ons
0 -
The perks are definitly op for him but the add-ons?
Iri tag is a dead add-on after the recent changes. He was like chucky before where you are going to get hit no matter what on a 20 second cd but he was shredding through pallets, now neither are guaranteed and I could just run base kit blight and be better off. Best you can do with it is tunnel someone with it but again why run this add-on for it?
New alch ring compared to old as well, It's solid but It's not down you in 10-seconds broken.

This update was so poorly thought out it's actually surprising. And I have very little faith in BHVR's balance changes so that's saying something.
I just faced a Plague on RPD running Prayer Tablet Fragment and four generator kick perks -- Eruption, Oppression, Call of Brine, and Overcharge. Two generators spawned in the main hall and one just off to the side in the library. She planted herself in the main hall and repeatedly sicked on the 3 generators only. Any time someone got infected, she knew they were working on one of the generators and just rushed over to kick it. To make a long story short, the match lasted about 40 minutes before we all just gave up.
Prior to that, I had went up against a Doctor with Thrilling Tremors, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, and Deadlock. He'd use static blast to make us scream, kicking us off the generators, and then pick someone up to block them all with Thrilling Tremors. And then hook them, walk away from the hook briefly to proc Grim Embrace and Dead Man's Switch before just going back to camp.
What a colossal waste of time this anti 3 gen feature was.
13 -
Just got a P100 Billy that tunneled me straight off of hook twice.
Won at 3 gens, love it.
5 -
Problem I see is what's the point participating in the PTB if the input goes nowhere anyway?
Quite a few people brought up the DMS/GE combo, myself included.
Sure it's neat to try content early, but the point of a Public Test is to stress-test changes and comb over feedback to find logical changes when these problems pop up. If they're already planning changes regardless if they make sense or not and ignoring problems during and after the PTB phase then why even have a test? Feels more like a glorified bug-test.
4 -
It literally makes him one of, if not the best tunneler in the game.
There is nothing you can do to outplay this add-on if you are injured.
Alc Ring is still absurd but not like it was.
AV was massively buffed. Crow and Rat got a slap on the wrist. Hopefully the tunneling 4 slowdown Blight spam slows down
10 -
It takes them years to do number changes or nerf overperforming add-ons.
Why would we ever expect them to change things significantly from the PTB.
6 -

Which I mentioned, but one decent pallet and that's 20 seconds instantly. I would say the downsides out weight the negatives. He was also already the best tunneler with ring/vial before. Hit off hook with ring, rush again dead.
I'd like to hear what you think makes ring so absurd still.
Vial is his best add-on now for sure, I would not say it's massively buffed though. A large portion of what made it so strong before was it's cd reduction, you could shred through anything and start rushing a coupled seconds later. If the map had solid collision the turn rate was irrelevant.
I would have been fine to see speed go to additive as I always said but halving rat and more than halving crow isn't a slap on the wrist.
The killer did not get buffed in terms of downing or tunneling power compared to his old add-ons.
2 -
That's just it, most of us aren't asking for significant changes in the PTB. It's mostly number-tuning and suggestions for further adjustments down the road.
Take Sadako for instance. Most of us were happy with the changes both as and against her since her strong power had a strong counterplay. With the nerfs, now survivors have far more counterplay than she does a power, leading to the exact playstyles the devs tried to avoid with these nerfs, just with less condemned because players feel like tunneling now is their only option. All people asked in the PTB for the most part were smaller TV aura reading ranges, keep the 2 second interactions with tapes, and Iridescent Tape having the increased cooldowns removed or have the tape back to it's 1.0 incarnation.
With DMS and GE, most asked for GE to be the primary block and have DMS only activate if the survivor gets back on the gen and releases it after GE. Or, they asked for GE to be tuned down in numbers here and there.
And as we know, none of this was considered. The developers had pre-planned a lot of changes before we could supply information and an input and then claim things happened in the PTB that most of us didn't experience or made no sense with the killers and their kits. Really the only one who got it off easy with Billy all things considered, which I personally think is fine because Billy needed some QoL.
6 -
blight iri addon unactivates after breaking a pallet, missing and hitting
1 -
Another laughable issue is that Sadako got nerfed while Blight was made easier to play but remains overpowered.
You would think that a killer with such a powerful base kit should not have strong game changing addons. At this pace i am genuinely concerned they will make Pig worse once her turn comes.
8 -
Personally I'm scared for whatever changes comes to Pig, Doctor, Huntress, Demo, Clown and Hag after this nonsense.
6 -
Laughable ? Im glad you can laugh at this, in my case is nothing but suffer man, horrible match after horrible match, Its impossible to play survivor in solo Q, I just had 4 blights in a row, each one of them with the same freakin build, tunelling the first survivor out of the match at 5 gens. I just cant do noting but wish them the worst. I ve been afk for the last 6 matches so i get killed quickly and decrease my mmr, or at least I hope so, how come having fun in this game is the most difficult challenge?
11 -
When people are comparing this to the old eruption era you know its bad.
5 -
I’m sure eventually it might slow down, these builds are just being tried out so I think eventually killers will probably get bored and try different builds.
0 -
Unfortunately I doubt that.
7 -
You see and I agree it’s so infuriating how our feedback gets ignored.
2 -
0-8 today in solo queue. Just absolute devastation every game. (THREE P100 Billies which is insane) 4-0 on killer. How are your games going? Grim Embrace is absolutely miserable and every killer i've seen run it was a high tier killer. Plague, Spirit, and Blight.
9 -
Yea like they got bored with eruption?
3 -
There was no problem with Eruption, that perk came out with basically the same effect, only the regression was buffed in the perk overhaul patch, so it was nerfed for no reason.
There is no problem with Grim Embrace, it works four times in a whole match. The combo with Dead Man's Switch can perfectly be avoided once you get caught once and you know about it, and in the fourth hook it's a total waste that only adds 5 seconds to Grim Embrace.
0 -
only the regression was buffed in the perk overhaul patch,
This isn't even remotely close to correct.
The instant regression on down did go from 6% to 10% in 6.1.0, but they also increased the incapacitation time from 16 to 26 seconds in that patch.
Additionally, there was a 'bug fix' patch after 6.1.0 that really caused the spike in usage. Before that bug fix, the perk applied regression before incapacitation, so the survivor working on that gen halted the passive regression just before getting incapped. After that fix, the gen continued to regress.
So Eruption got triple buffed in a short time frame.
2 -
No problem with Eruption lmao
11 -
Skill issue I guess.
3 -
Suppose so
0 -
I'm not a dev. I will admit that it's probably more difficult than I give it credit for. But, you ostensibly have a team that discusses perk changes and balance. Within the last year, Eruption was nerfed because of its Incapacitated effect. Given that context, I don't understand how Grim Embrace+DMS even makes it to a PTB, let alone goes live. Did nobody bring up the striking similarities to Eruption?
13 -
I played Sadako....
Its bad. Your literally disincentivised to use your power. You can tp fast, but why would you? It does nothing.
I sincerely hope that they remove this cooldown alltogether. Its completely pointless.
6 -
Agreed. I've been extensively testing it and it's kind of a joke to waste a TV if you're not getting condemned value, or at least threatening with condemned if survivors choose to ignore tapes.
On the upside, the hook lock cap isn't as harsh as I first assumed, only if they ignore the tapes though. Really the problems are the condemned cooldown as far as my testing has gone down, but I'd have rather the PTB Sadako release as she was then make adjustments depending on the data.
2 -
Well we told those add-ons are so busted and should not come to live. But our feedbacks just ignored.
But they will never nerf Blight i guess. Instead they will nerf other weak killers. Like Sadako. Nobody asked nerf for her PTB version and everyone asked nerf for PTB Blight.
But here we are with Blight buffs and Sadako nerfs.
3 -
Was he using the Resident Evil skin? Because I had the exact same thing happen.
0 -
It's not quite as bad as Eruption but it's pretty terrible. Gen blocking is the most uninteractive way to slow down the game and now GE and DMS create a meta that does just that but dialed up to 11. This really can't stay. You literally force the survivors to wait, twiddling their thumbs until DMS is finally gone.
There is nothing worse than the feeling, that you can't do anything meaningful in the game and it's exactly what GE + DMS do.
6 -
definitely not buffed, all of his best addons are worse except adren, which is just a silly buff. i dont see how its a buff.
slap on the wrist though, the killer is still good
2 -
Yeah, killers are eating good rn.
Blight still strong, Billy insanely oppressive, new broken killer meta, buff to general gen defense.
9 -
Agree!
1 -
Sadako is awful...
No feedback was implemented.
4 -
this is a thread about how stupid busted blight is, sadako they already said shes getting changed again.
0 -
Well, the post I replied to was about the patch overall.
Sadako is really bad right now. They would need to revert the nerfs entirely to make her better. Still not great but better.
3 -
They hard nerfed his iri add-ons from ptb, what are you talking about? Just adren?
2 -
This thread complaining about an add-on that's bad?
2 -
PTR on every game ever (League, OW, DbD) is almost unanimously used by people for early access to new characters/skins/game modes, barely ever any valuable feedback is given, hence how this PTR cycle, Grim Embrace SOMEHOW went live along with Blight changes. It's just full of people speedwagoning around on Billy and Blight and playing the new chapter character early.
2 -
But blight changes didn't go live, both his iri add-ons got nerfed into the ground. Adren got buffed from D tier to A tier though.
OW doesn't even have a ptb anymore as far as I'm aware and leagues pbe is actually used quite well, people use and abuse the new stuff and it's changed. If something dumb gets through it gets hotfixed that day most of the time.
1 -
Yeah buy you get the jist of what im saying. People primarily use Beta servers for early access. And Blight has released stronger than he was in the patch prior which should never happen. Same with Grim Embrace
0 -
I do get what your saying but Blight isn't stronger than pre patch whether your talking about the patch from ptb or to ptb, not close either way. The grim thing is super strong though.
1 -
Nerfed into the ground. Literally unusable.
One only makes him the strongest tunneler by allowing him a guaranteed hit with next to no skill required. It's like if Chucky could just keep using his power without a cooldown. So that's a buff.
Adrenaline Vial got straight up buffed.
Rat and Crow got a slap on the wrist.
Alc Ring is still extremely good.
C33 got hit the hardest but is...surprise, still good.
Oh, the humanity of it.
5 -
I've never worked at a game studio, but given my time in a creative studio I will say that office politics can absolutely destroy the creative/design process.
At the end of the day, this is a job for the people at BHVR--if someone at the top is making it difficult for the designers to do their job to the best of their ability, they will stop trying to do the job to the best of their ability.

I replied to you earlier and you didn't respond.
Tag is nerfed, if you want to tunnel it's more consistent to not use iri tag. Infinite rushes can play around some pallets but some are so safe infinite rushes without previous speed can' play around them even on a good blight. Something standard like the double car L tile is a prime example. Chucky can use his power and get a hit as majority of pallets opposed to blight. Again base kit blight would have less downsides and is therefore more consistent at tunneling. Breaking a pallet = a 20 second cd makes it have insane counter play regardless of the miniscule skill on the blights part. It's worse than base kit blight so I would consider it unusable yes. You want to play better legion go for it, if you want to hard tunnel on blight hit of hook and press m2.
Adren isn't buffed either, not even close. The double cd of old adren was what made it so extremely oppressive. If you had a map with solid collision, the turn rate was irrelevant. Not sure how you could possibly think this was an overall buff. The flicks are easily 4counterable and the plus two rushes don't make it broken even with ring.
Rat and crow got literally halved and again I would have been fine making them additive. That's not a slap on the wrist, that's a decent nerf even if they are still good.
again, explain why ring is extremely good without my adding any input. I hope your reasoning isn't map traversal.
C33 stacking with umbra salts makes it interesting but I have no idea what makes it extremely good. Abusing the semi-noticible turn rate is a gimmick compared to base kit bump logic except at some tiles.
Gotta explain your reasoning
Your overblowing all of these add-ons they are nothing compared to the old ones, which I don't have a problem with.
I am always open to discussion but you'll have to explain yourself.
1 -
I did get about 40 notifications.
I don't really think you do want a discussion just based off of your answer about bump logic. I do not have the emotional nor mental patience to argue with someone about this after having such a miserable day on DBD, primarily because of this Killer.
Hope you understand.
3 -
uh, I gave you an answer to every add-on and you told me I don't want to have a discussion. You took one part of my entire response being c33 and how it's miniscule effect can be achieved better at most tiles with just playing blight properly and then you disregarded everything because of that.
Your adept at making statements and never responding to anything against you properly. For such a vet of the forums and the game it does make me sad.
It's not like I told you, you didn't have a bad time playing dbd today. Even without running the new perk combo I know it's strong especially on blight. You had a bad time because of perks not because of the supposed op add-ons.
I'll always explain my thoughts, it's up to you to contest them. Only on something like hook suicide will I just say I am right. If you don't contest me then that means you don't want a discussion or you don't actually have real answers, just statements.

The buffed Eruption instantly regress 9sec of Gen. Unable to do anything for 25sec, and another 6sec of regression. The total Gen time lost is
40sec
On
A Single
Survivor.
Now multiply to 3. A single down could saves killer 1.33 Gen.
