Question about Pinhead
Pinhead main here, and I've had survivors just waiting at a hook for me. I usually walk away from them when they motion for me to sac them, because I feel it takes away from the game.
I barely use his chain summon; I just chase, down, and hook. I use the box when I find it blind, only half the time when I can see it (chatterers tooth), but do appreciate hiding it from survivors (iri lament config). It's a 50/50 shot if I teleport when it's being solved.
I've been told he's an M1 killer, and ppl can't stand his chains.
IMO, on the rare occasions i play survivor, i think Pyramidhead, Ghostie, and Pig are much worse in terms of potential toxicity.
Why does Pinhead get so much hate?

His box can become a 'damned if you do damned if you don't', endless yoyo of suffering that prevents survivors making any progress, and you as the killer don't necessarily need to do anything about it to benefit from that effect. Pinhead is passively frustrating, you can play the nicest pinhead game possible and survivors can still have a terrible experience. He is the icon of sadomasochism, and you need to be a masochist to enjoy playing against him.
By comparison, Pig has to go out of her way to harrass a survivor for her power to be toxic.
I'm not sure how Pyramid Head and Ghostface are toxic at all...

With regards to PH, his ability to toss some type of attack through walls that rip up the ground and have barb wire through it
Ghostie with his stealth. I've only had 1 positive GF experience. Now, this was before the anti-camping mechanism they put in, he would camp and tunnel.
I picked Pinhead because I'm a fan of the franchise, and when i started, I tried out trapper and couldn't figure him out (silly, I know), so I paid for the DLC and picked him up right away.
Was just wondering. Not saying you should like going any killer, but to D/C when you find out it's a specific killer is just ... weird? Not sure what term to use.

Pyramid head has the best tunneling basekit and his M2 special ability has several playstyles that are often….well they’re not fun to play against (that’s what I know atleast)
oh yeah and the cage spawns are easily memorizable and you can tunnel survivors without worrying about anti tunnel perks

He gets much hate, i simply think its because a mistake by a survivor gets the entire team punished rather than that survivor getting downed quickly, i already had multiple discussions on this forums why his reputation as a "pub stomper" is undeserved. However despite it my hot take is that he is still one of the best designed and healthiest Killers in the game, the hate he gets is more or less based on surface level look at him.
- To make most out of his power, he can't camp and tunnel, he has to go and look for the box and switch targets to whoever got it, in fact you can probably win with him in tournaments without using these strats, something many if not most Killers can't claim.
- His power is tricky to use with a high skill ceiling, he also has plenty of counterplay as his chains can be dodged and survivors can manipulate/predict the spawn of the box to be in their favor just as much as he can.
- He rewards both good game knowledge and mechanical skill on both sides, many Killers favor one more than the other.

Pinhead is overpowered and unfair against solo queue - it's as simple as that. Coordinated SWF on comms can handle him easily, but every solo queue match I've been in against him has been a beatdown because either nobody does gens or nobody does the box and it's a permanent chainhunt. It's very clear that solo queue experience was not considered when this killer was designed.
