I think it should be an option in customs permanently but not as a split queue game mode lights out is just too simple to want to keep around for a long time

Yes but also no.
I think they should set it up moving forward such that there is always SOME special rotating game mode going on at all times. And cycle them around. Then retool the "regular" queue to be the "Ranked mode" that everyone asks for. Show your rank/MMR, and give rewards based on that.

I'd say make it rotational once we get more modifiers, however keep them all available for people to play in custom game.

If Freddy is eventually made available to play in this mode, then sure. It is actually pretty fun.

The mode is interesting but feels like a worse solo queue experience. I'll be glad when it's gone, as it feels BAD.
Every single match, there is camping and tunneling, and now it's even easier as there are no anti-camp/tunnel perks to punish the ######### gameplay loop. In every match I've played, a console player immediately kills themselves on a hook, whether it's from the camping and tunneling being on full display or because they have no idea what their teammates are doing or where anything is.
I can only picture this being enjoyable from an SWF viewpoint, but these developers only seem to design and balance now on that merit.

They could have just used the original Freddy version for this mode.
I remember it pitch black on certain maps. So really not much of a difference.

Sadly, I don't think it would work. The engine changes are what altered the Dream World vfx in the first place, iirc, so they would run into the same problem.
It feels awful to have my main unavailable, because this mode is pretty fun. I wanted to experience it with Freddy.

I never even thought of this. Freddy's dream world completely clashes with it. That sucks.

The mode is absolutely horrible for a large portion of the playerbase and doesn't even work with all the Killers.

I'd say leave it like it is currently for now. Then they can be smart, and start balancing modes differently.
For example, the rotating game modes don't have to really be "balanced" and they can even tweak the balance of specific killers for each rotating mode. But for the ranked mode they can make the balance different.

I was caught completely off-guard. Freddy would've been one of the best killers for this mode, especially considering he is a horror icon.

First couple of games were kind of hard because I was having difficulty stalking in the darkness. But I've adapted. I got the hang of it. Now Michael's eating well in this mode. Especially when you have your tier 3 at 99. Its a guaranteed down.

Nah, it's painfully mid and will get stale after 2-3 days max.
