It's been way too long, it's time to unlink outfit pieces that are unnecessarily linked.
No killer weapon should be forcibly linked because their body and head "need" to match.
A survivor wearing a dress, or other long coats etc, should not be forced to use the associated head piece. Likewise for legs on a hoodie.
We all know that the reason that this wasn't the way from the START of the store:
They get more profit out of people being forced to buy 3 cosmetics instead of one, so are happy to make the products worse for the average player for that small profit.
As the second problem only gets worse with every linked cosmetic that's added, it's better to fix this decision now than leave it for later.

Linked cosmetics always have one really cool piece that you can't even get by itself for whatever reason.

The fact the Gabriel moon festival outfit was temporarily given away and could even be worn as separate pieces goes to show that BHVR can do it, they just don't want to.

They have said they want to do it but it’s currently not possible and not top priority.
and to be frank, I do believe they currently can’t implement 2-piece sets technically without introducing bugs/glitches that may very well affect all sets including those that need to be sets for licensing reasons.

The way I will never buy sets on original characters. No matter how good they are. I'm sorry, I just can't. There are some skins even now that are unlinked that causes clipping when mix and matched with other skins, but aren't sets.

Gabriel's Fire Moon Festival outfit got unlinked by accident with the Midchapter release. It was so cool! The clipping wasn't that big of a deal and would only happen when crouching, I think. It's such a big waste to have it linked. :(
Plus, many people will REFUSE to buy a cosmetic just because it's linked. (or has a backpack that cannot be toggled off)
