What kind of Killer main are you?

What kind of Killer main are you? Are you brutal and unrelenting getting the 4K by any means necessary? Do you meme around and farm with the Survivors becoming their friend? Are you a jump-scare Killer? Do you like to terrorize with the terror radius?

Personally I am a scary movie Killer so my goal is make the matches as high-strung as possible. I will chase then drop chase then reappear. I will pretend I didn’t see you hiding behind that rock just to turn around quickly and chase. During chase I will strike out and purposefully miss a hit if it feels “cinematic” to do so. Like if I am chasing an injured Survivor out of the Thompson house I will purposefully hit the wall/door frame next to a Survivor just to make them feel like it was a near miss/narrow escape. I will pretend to “lose” a survivor during chase and then go patrol elsewhere, stuff like that. I am on PS4 so I can’t see if people enjoyed the match or not but I always hope that they enjoyed the performance.

Anyways! What kind of Killer main are you? Why do you do the things you do? 😉

I’m very chase oriented, spread out hooks and maybe go for a kill or two after 8 hooks are met.. or a 3k if I steamroll and I don’t want to wait for 3-4 gens to be done by two ppl.

I used to sweat but that got really stressful then I shifted my focused on chases especially when killers would stop chasing me which is the fun part of the game for me. At first I was steamrolled and then eventually I got to where I’d pub stomp 9/10 if I really wanted to go for the 4k win.

“Our first encounter is our lasting experience in this match. You decide your own outcome. Live or Die, the choice is yours.”

I usually play stealth (Myers, ‘manda, Ghost) for the jump scares. I’ll meme a lot with ‘manda. I’m overall more excited about the interaction than straight up winning.

I am the undisputed most sweaty, brutally tunneling, slugging and camping Skull Merchant main (no offense to any Skull Merchant mains) you could ever imagine. I 4k every single match. Always. If it's not a 4k, then it's not me. Also, I take great pleasure in breaking my opponent's spirit and will always go out of my way to nod, shake my head, smack on hook or bm in any other way. I will never use any build that is not carefully crafted to subjugate those puny survivors. I once had a survivor almost escape through the hatch and this scarred me for life. I exist purely to make survivors sad. 😈

Please ignore the matches in which it looks like I play Hillbilly, ignore one survivor because they are already on 2nd hook and instead go for someone else, play with meme perks, let survivors go, write ggs in end game or give survivors second chances when it looks like I might win the game right at the start. I assure you that is not me.

I would also never try to challenge myself by playing dream pallet Freddy with only STBFL or meme around as Bodyguard Bubba.

Same, the interaction part is more fun for me than the actual killing.

That’s terrifying. It reminds me of when killers in scary movies/shows dance around while they torture and kill people. Omg very very scary.

"This is my world. And you can't ever leave." — Freddy Krueger

My favorite thing as killer is control. I love the idea of pulling survivors into a dangerous world where Freddy is the one who holds all the cards. I like to spread the pressure, control the map, keep people asleep as much as possible.

And when they think they escaped from the Dream...

    The nightmare begins again.

I sweat in every single game. I tunnel, proxy camp, and bring the strongest perks I can. Basically everything I complain about. The amount of survivors who give up or DC in my games is actually sort of depressing.

I respect that. Whenever I play Survivor it’s noticeable when Killers spread hooks. I can’t say it’s unwelcome!

That’s hardcore. A slave to the Killing 😂

I’m just kidding though. I think all of us who enjoy Killer have been there at some point.

    Thank you, my friend.

That was the magic of playing Freddy.

    It is, isn't it?

Back when his power was unique, I'd say he was one of the scariest killers in the game. Together with Myers and Doctor.

The survivor perspective was also great: you see the grass moving, but there is no one there. All you hear is his lullaby, echoing through the killing grounds.

I'm all about the bloodpoints. I max out both my hunting and Deviousness categories before hooking anyone.

This ensures everyone has time to earn bloodpoints and then I go scorched earth on everyone**

I don't camp, but depending on my mood I may Tunnel.

** I don't ever hook a Nancy Wheeler. She is always spared for being my eye candy and I have Terrormisu and BPS that I only offer if she's in the lobby ❤️

It's random, like every single build is randomized for each trial. I do play, depending on challenges, offerings or such, and eaxh Killer I like to play as I see their personality.

The only consistency is I never bm. I respect my opponents, even if sometimes the feeling isn't mutual.

I kind of think of myself of a Killer of many colors 😅 How I play a match as Killer comes down to so many different variables (i.e. Am I going for an achievement, ritual, or challenge? Am I more (re)learning a Killer and anything in the match is a learning experience? Are the Survivors giving their all and playing incredibly well, and I want to -at least- attempt the same? Or, are the Survivors memeing and I'm not one to turn my nose up at some wholesome meme-abouts?)

No matter what though, I still prefer to play in a way that is fair and respectful of others (but, you know, still a Killer, probably even trying out a devilish new build), within the game rules (of course), and just have fun with it, and hopefully others will have fun too <3

Though really depends on which of us you ask we tend to be an odd combination hyper aggressive yet non sweaty. Best I can say is like hyper dogs with their favorite chew toys. We don't really care, we just do what we want in the moment and enjoy (still having claws crossed for a werewolf).

I should have added these variables to my post as well as many that you named can alter my playstyle.

I don't try to win when learning a new Killer but rather learn.

I played my first trial as Skull Merchant recently and I don't think I could have hooked anyone if I tried.

I was too preoccupied trying to figure out what the device in her hand is monitoring. Still haven't figured it out 🤔

I plays as Oni and Knight who are both supposed honorable themed characters, so i ll play fairly and honorably for most part. I like mind games so like the op said, I ll pretend to not notice a survivor in the corner of my eye to then suddenly turn back on them. I ll give hatch if I played well and will always let survivors finish there event/tome challenges such as glyphs.

If gens are flying, I will tunnel/camp/slug to win. If the survivors can't stay on their feet, I go for 12 hooks.

I main Bubba, and most of the time I run an obsession build. Ultimate Weapon/Nowhere to Hide, Game Afoot, Nemesis, Rancor. I only M2, I only chase, and I don't care about gens too much. My goal is to win chases, get hooks, and Rancor as many people as I can.

My guilty pleasure is downing the last person, and searching to close hatch. Once hatch is closed I can Rancor my Game Afoot obsession. If for some reason my obsession escapes, I will chase them to the exit gates and bump. The bump is the dance at the end of TCM, and a reminder that I'll get them next time.

This is how I used to play until MMR made it almost impossible, and the maps were changed to be smaller with safe pallet to safe pallet. Now I feel like I have to play with 4 slowdowns, and tunnel/camp at 3 gens to see an endgame. I still win games, but it is nowhere near as fun.

I just want to chase people and not have 4 minute games. *sad Bubba noises*

Find the weak link, proxy, tunnel, just like the devs intended. I let the last 2 bleed out usually so they can have extra time to reflect on my skill.

I generally play to win, but I'm not overly sweaty about it. I refuse to run a build that's all gen regression, and I have no problem playing killers who aren't meta. I also enjoy being able to achieve victory with weaker killers. My main, though, would have to be Singularity. I almost always give up a 4K to give the last person hatch, because it feels better to share the feeling of having a good outcome for a match with another person. Sometimes, if the last person standing was obnoxious, I'll sacrifice them for the BP.

The best feeling as killer during a match, though, is to completely break the survivors as a team. To have played so effectively as to be in total control of the match, to the point where survivors default to the rule of "the best way to escape the killer is to always be faster than the default Meg" feels good. Granted, I'll probably slug the Meg and keep up the pursuit, but still. I guess it's a constant theme with the killers I play: Plague, Demo (just got him when ST returned!), Knight, Singularity, and Xenomorph. I always try to play them in a way that causes as much chaos as possible. Never let the survivors feel safe, like a good survival horror villain should.👻

Depends on the survivors like if they're goofy then I'm goofy, if they're tbagging and purposely following me to insure the flashlight\pallet save then imma go for the 4k but every once in a while I'll play spooky ghostface

I'm a really weird killer who's dedicated to getting as many M2 hits as I can, avoiding M1 as much as possible unless I'm playing a literal M1 killer. Plus it gives the survivors a good time if I'm playing Billy Bubba PH or Nemesis. I HATE M1!!!!!!

I have my limits though I absolutely need to M1 if I'm playing Wesker
