Revise DBD
The game’s objective has essentially stayed the same although the game itself has evolved. I feel this is why the game currently sucks. Different game modes are the step in right direction, but I feel that there should be change in DBD overall.
The EGC is the best phase because…. THERE IS A TIMER!!! This is how the game should’ve been from the very beginning!!
Essentially when the trial begins it shouldn’t doing 5 generators to escape no matter the situation. This has become frustrating for both sides.
A new “Survival Phase” should be implemented. Survivors are trapped in the trial for 15 minutes with the killer. They must survive until that timer ends, which leads to the “End Phase”. If survivors do not escape in 5 minutes the entity will kill everyone. The actual “Collapse Phase” begins after 2 minutes remain. Whether the door is opened, or not. Slugging, and hooking slows down the timer at EGC as usual.
For survivors working on generators aren’t necessary to escape; However, working on generators takes time from the “Survival Phase”. Each generator fully completed takes additional time.
For killer regressing generators, hooking survivors, and a full sacrifice adds additional time. Mori’s shorten the timer. If killers face camp for too long a survivor can unhook themselves until EGC. Even at struggle phase. Killers also begin to lose time from doing it.
I would add more to this, but my work break ended! I’ll return if I see some responses on this. Help brainstorm to suggest a few tweaks to this idea!

I do not want to play matches where all four survivors hide in the corners of the map not doing anything because they think waiting out a timer is better than doing an objective.

Not really possible. Killers have aura reading and perks that allows the survivors to be found. Ultimate Weapon prevents hiding altogether. The reason killers don’t use said perks because they prioritize generator progress over finding the survivors to eliminate. If finding them was more important there would be less pressure on gens, and less gen regression perks being used.
The objective becomes what it should be. Surviving. I don’t even play Solo anymore because there’s no use doing the objective when everyone gets caught in under 5 minutes. In those situations a person should be able to avoid the killer until the timer ends. As opposed to the killer searching indefinitely because one player is really good at hiding.
Depending on what you wear you can hide from killers exceptionally well until a player basically bleeds out. Then you find the hatch.

Major problem of removing generators is that survivors who are not being chased by the killer have nothing to do.

What you are suggesting would be a complete disaster. If they want to experiment with a generator-less game mode then they can do it the same way they did with lights out. It would be an enlightening experience just like lights out. I think everyone has learned their lesson as to why things like terror radius, scratch marks, and perks exist. Perhaps some people need to learn why generators exist.

Generators are not removed. Working on a generator accelerates the survival phase for survivors. So they don’t have to remain trapped with a killer for 15 whole minutes. Survivors won’t “Hide” for 15 minutes straight if killers are running aura read, and position indicators. Like Lethal, Ultimate Weapon, and Whispers. They’ll all die. Fast.
Working on the gens is absolutely a must to increase chances of survival. It’s that when people begin to die right away… The remainders have the option to hide, or run the killer once they’re found. They can do this until the time is up. If someone ran the killer for 5+ minutes you don’t think they deserved to escape?
That’s why survivors quit within the first minute of being hooked. They’ve already decided there’s no hope of escaping. So they quit. Now everyone dies. I experience this in a good portion of my games. That’s why I stopped playing Solo.
At most this would make Solo Q experience a much better experience. This isn’t tedious because perks like Whispers literally tell the killer that survivors are in the proximity. It becomes more useful as survivors are eliminated. Instead players just being locked in a match all day until you’re caught. All because a bunny Feng decided to quit because she got caught too early.

This would be an interesting game mode, but that's it. I don't think it would go well if it was the main game mode but, as a fun modifier, I'm in.

Unsure how this would work with the current balance but the thought of the entity being like "Ugh, this killer... This is taking too long, I'll do it myself." after 15 minutes is kinda funny to me.

I agree lol! The only issue with this is that survivors have nothing to do, nothing to work on.

Indeed. Survivors would need more tasks to complete or at least something to do other than the generators.
I think it would make an interesting modifier though, if done correctly.

I agree 💯
