Rip sloppy butcher

I'm calling it now that survivors wont heal and will just wait the 90 seconds timer, making mangled virtually useless, they will just play sneaky for a minute and a half then heal.

I was expecting a nerf but holy, guess killers will stack more gen regression now, yay, well done.

I dont know what metrics BHVR was following but the only killers sloppy was really effective on we're not the top ones, and helped mostly m1 killers.

Would have preffered to just make it faster to heal sloppy when its done by a teammate, that way it encourages you to rely on your teammates and not run around injured.

Of all the things to nerf, they nerfed the only effective way besides the tunneling, camping, slugging for m1 killers to slow down the game, only affecting killers that are already top tier.

This is what we need, more cooldowns and timers on everything.

Survivors will greed with resilience then heal, at the top level of the game where sloppy actually makes a difference.

While I don't like this change and don't see a reason for it, it's worth mentioning that Sloppy Butcher (and Mangled in general) just changes who it's used on and why, it's not dead.

Like you said, they'll stay injured. Killers that capitalise on that will still get use out of Mangled.

(I also kinda doubt Sloppy makes a difference at the top level of play, that's where survivors don't feel much need to heal in the first place.)

I’m happy vigil actually will have a consistent counter usage presuming they revert it to speeding up mangled times

If they wait it out that still means in practice they are staying injured for longer, hell they might even stay injured for longer than with current sloppy butcher.

May sound counterintuitive, but its a buff for atleast a few Killers like Dredge and Oni, with no timer the survivors actually heal right away, meaning they are only injured for a total of 40-60 seconds because they have no reason to wait. With a 90s timer they will be injured for 90s then the time it takes to heal, for approximatly 100 seconds.

    Its a buff actually.

Tunneling/camping/slugging and stacked gen regression is already the norm. It changes nothing in that regard.

The problem was no one wanted to heal through the mangled. This will probably get survivors healing more once the duration expires and off gens.

If survivors aren't healing, broken is better. Bc broken prevents stypic agents.

it will be huge nerf because the timer keeps going even when your on hook. In essence, the change encourages killer to slug. For example, say mangled is 60 second on sloppy, you get hooked, you stay on hook for 30 seconds, now the timer has 30 second remaining.

The change also punishes spreading pressure because if you hit 3/4 of people, there is large odds that at least 1 of those player will have their timer expire, so change also encourages tunneling.

I'm not saying it's good, I'm saying the perk isn't dead.

It encourages survivors to stay injured, it doesn't encourage killers to do anything other than react to that. Reacting to injured survivors is easier for some killers than others, but because Mangled is something you bring actively as killer, you can bring perks that help you punish that decision even on the killers that aren't natively able to do it.

The change will sadly leave inexperienced Survivors largely unnaffected by the nerf (since most will not want to risk not healing and will heal early for longer anyway) and experienced players, those that already had a tendency to either stay injured (likely to get value out of some perk and/or because they are confident enough that they can take a chase) or only heal in perfect safety will simply wait out the timer.

90 seconds is not that short, but it's short enough that unless the Killer tunnels then waiting it out isn't that much of an issue. If anything being incentivized to continue doing gens for the timer will make gen progress faster at a higher level.

Wait, vigil will make mangled last even less, one more reason to hate this unnecesary change.

Yeah, they just straight up killed mangled as an effect, probably some dev player survivor and didn't like having to heal through mangled and nerfed it. This change makes no sense to me, especially receiving such a huge nerf, it should have been left untouched, like a lot of people said, this didn't make much of a difference anyway, except on bad killers that actually needed it, now its a dead effect and sloppy is a dead perk.

Why would I use sloppy butcher if survivors can simply ignore it and it will go away?

I will just use more gen regression. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If the goal was to get people to stop using sloppy butcher, bravo 👏🏻 you did it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Perhaps try doing something interesting. Like pick up bandages from the environment to remove it quickly. But only spawn a limited number of bandages so you have to be careful about when to use them. Only spawn bandages if some form of mangled is in play. Does the same thing you want but doesn’t make the perk worthless.
