Are You Allowed to Use GIF's on the Forum?
Just curious as I've had mine deleted whenever I've used them. They were not offensive, gratuitous or containing nudity, so I'm not sure why they violated the rules. The only part of the rules I could see that it might pertain to is this:
Please avoid posting the following:
- Things that do not contribute to the discussion (e.g. baits, etc.)
I don't think responding to positive news with a dancing ape for example would violate this as it's not a bait or trolling. It's just an amusing way to respond to someone.
I won't cry about it, but I would like to know if this is the rule I violated or whether it was another one, so I don't get canned by a mod out of nowhere.

I haven't posted one in a while but I certainly used to use them a load and never had something happen. Unless there's been a mod reshuffle recently there's been a precedent for them being a-okay.

Is a CGI dancing ape okay? As that got deleted. It didn't have any genitalia or anything crude.

Dwight just got unhooked and saw killer coming at him instantly.

That seems like a really unfair assumption on your end

It was an ape doing a happy dance in response to finding out the new killer PTB was scheduled for today. I appreciate the clarification but I'm still confused, just about something else now. If you can't discuss the reasoning openly as mod that's okay but maybe someone else could elaborate.
Edit: I'm not sure how anyone could explain it to me without the context so ignore that last request.

that is absolutely impossible since everything can be missunderstood. including a straight forward sentence.

someone posted a thing.
someone posted a happy dance gif to it to show they were happy about the thing.
seems pretty straight forward to me.
maybe my opinion will change if I see the specific gif... but it seems like a very normal and common use of a gif.
edit: like the kronk one above.

I don't want to cause any issues due to confusing anyone so I will post what happened.
Someone made a thread saying that the PTB was today. I asked if that was the case. Someone responded saying it was scheduled for the 20th (today). I responded with this:
I only meant to show that I was excited for the seeing the new killer. I didn't think it would be viewed as being disrespectful.
Hopefully that clarifies it for anyone viewing this thread without the context.

Whilst I'm still not sure why it might be viewed as disrespectful, I at least understand your reasoning. I will try to be more clear the next time I use one.

Oh ive seen this gif. Its halarious lol. I see rizzos point. Hes just making sure nothing is sent with malice or could be hurtful. As long as there was no action taken on you for that misunderstanding its understandable.
Its a slippery slope so i understand. Pictures and gifs can be interpreted in so many ways with no context. Thank you for clarifying. For future reference guess itll have to be recommended to at least have some context so it doesnt come across wrong.

yeah, I just don't see how this can be seen as anything else other than "happy dance of celebration"...
this gif only loses to the adventure of a lifetime apes
