I am just making this discussion to see if people agree or disagree with anything i am about to put here. But i feel like the current state of dbd i feel like the game isn’t killer sided or survivor sided i think its just people playing one side and just complaining over nothing like yes there are some killer and survivor perks that need to be changed but i don’t like how people are getting mad over a game that i think is not competitive. That is all i can think of for right now but if anyone can comment and bring up any point i will be happy to talk about them :)

We agree that saying it's one sided or the other is silly as there's enough variables and RNG to make it swing one way or another. It's also dumb to us (but amusing) seeing everyone go rabid at almost any change.

That said everyone is different so we can't really fault anyone. Just cause we don't think it's a competitive game doesn't mean someone else won't. Having fun for one isn't the same as another, and yada yada. We can't force people to think differently {we'll sure as hell try and persuade them though}.

And as much as it stretches our belief, we do think a majority are saying what they think is best for the game (whether it would be depends) and don't want it to crash and burn.

Totally agree. I think a lot of people use their anecdotal, personal experiences and project them onto the game as a whole (I’m 100% at fault of doing this as well). And like you said, it doesn’t completely invalidate their experiences. It doesn’t mean they’re true for the game as a whole, but in that individuals mind and experience, they struggle in one role compared to the other and their perception is that the game isn’t fair/balanced for one side.

From the beginning, this game was not a competitive game, but Developer continued to promote this game as a competitive game, just look at 'community cup', SBMM, MMR, Balance here balance there.

dbd players are becoming more competitive, yes blame the developer.

I believe many struggle with the concept of these type of games. The fact that one side is supposed to succeed more is difficult to grasp for many. This feeling is also made worse with the grade system. If you do well you go up, but if you do not, or get tunneled, you get negative actions from depipping. The more competitive nature could be lessened by removing negatives from the grade system, but pvp still brings out competitive nature. The arguments I see most often are based on individuals not winning as often as they want. This game brings out competitiveness from people even when they do not realize it is that. Overall the game is what it is. I agree that people just need to focus on the enjoyment more, but having feelings is what makes a game great.

We've already once gone out of our way to say it's on the players not the devs...

Besides, SBMM and MMR don't make the game competitive, it just tries to find fair matches.

Now this is just me but i think the grade system is just really bad because once you make it to iridescent you are mostly not going to get a pip if you do not get a 3k or escape the trial and even if you escape there is still a chance you will safety pip

Everyone thinks they're the most oppressed person in the game. Everyone tunnels, everyone genrushes, such and such is broken, so and so is useless, etc. Even I make complaints like this from time to time so I'm not any better. I try to make balanced criticisms of both roles of the game, and ignore the melodramatic outcries. Lately, I think BHVR has done a decent job addressing serious problems with the game, though sometimes their methods are too light and others too heavy. Still, it's better than doing nothing at all.

TBF some of these complaints do come from casual perspectives. This is what happens when EVERYONE is playing the same game and unfortunately there is no fix. To get ultimate fun focused experience, you have to play custom games.
