Nerf Trapper

The Trapper's Dominance:

The Trapper's primary strength lies in his ability to strategically place traps around the map, creating lethal obstacles for survivors. These traps not only injure but also incapacitate survivors, leading to easy captures and sacrifices. Additionally, the Trapper's traps can be re-armed, further amplifying his control over the game's environment. This dominance often results in frustrating gameplay experiences for survivors, especially those who are new to the game or unfamiliar with countering the Trapper's tactics.

Impact on Game Balance:

While Dead by Daylight thrives on asymmetry, where each side possesses unique strengths and weaknesses, the Trapper's current power level tips the scales too heavily in favor of the killer. Survivors find themselves constantly on edge, wary of every step they take, which can lead to a tense but ultimately unsatisfying gameplay experience. Moreover, the Trapper's overwhelming presence can discourage experimentation with other killers, limiting the game's diversity and longevity.

The Need for Nerfing:

Nerfing the Trapper is not about rendering him obsolete but rather about rebalancing his abilities to ensure a more equitable playing field. By reducing the Trapper's trap placement speed or limiting the number of traps he can carry, developers can introduce a much-needed element of risk and strategy to his gameplay. This adjustment would force Trapper players to be more selective and deliberate in their trap placements, fostering a more dynamic and engaging experience for both killers and survivors.

As a survivor main, I completely agree with your assessment of the Trapper's dominance in Dead by Daylight. His ability to place traps strategically around the map creates a constant sense of danger and makes it difficult for survivors to navigate the environment safely. This can lead to frustrating gameplay experiences, especially for newer players who may not be familiar with how to counter the Trapper's tactics.

I also agree that the Trapper's current power level tips the scales too heavily in favor of the killer, which can discourage experimentation with other killers and limit the game's diversity. Nerfing the Trapper's abilities, such as reducing his trap placement speed or limiting the number of traps he can carry, would help to rebalance the game and create a more equitable playing field for both killers and survivors.

Overall, I believe that nerfing the Trapper would improve the overall gameplay experience and make Dead by Daylight a more enjoyable and dynamic game for all players.

It's going to be interesting, so I'll just observe everyone's opinions without giving my personal opinion. I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn about the skill level of international survivors.

As much as I hate Trapper's basement lockdown strategy, there's no way to nerf his traps without buffing his chase. At which point he's not a trap character, he's a chase character.

As a Survivor, the traps are generally pretty easy to avoid as long as you look. They're really only a threat when you are panick running. And remember, the Trapper can get in his own traps too, so it's a double edged sword.

In Asia Server, we give The Trapper as Killer Tier F, meaning he's very weak, almost the weakest of all Killers (not counting Red Add-Ons, but it's not much of a difference. Might help from F up to D Tier)

Even the most recent buff, Setting a Bear Trap grants The Trapper a +7.5 % Haste Status Effect for 5 seconds. It didn't help him become more powerful, it just made his Qulity of Life better.

I think if you can't fight Trapper being the weakest killer in the game, you should delete the game. Then go play another game.

    Moreover, the Trapper's overwhelming presence

No that's Doctor. Trapper has an Unnerving Presence.

Is this thread satire? Did I miss something? Or did some giga buff happened just now?

How is a character that can just place a trap somewhere and that's it, strong? Sure, the trap can catch a survivor but THATS THE POINT.

Trapper has 2 traps basekit. You have to go out of your way to get more.

Traps can be disabled, or avoided. Just look where you walk.

    He's very map dependant.

Before you can set up an area, 3 gens are done. So you have to be very good at defending your field.

The only saving grace of Trapper are his add-ons, and even that's just the few great ones he has.

So nah, he should get buffed or stay as he is.

    No nerfs for trapper, pls.

While I'm pretty sure this is satire (and the general word choices kinda makes it feel even more over-the-top, "Trapper's dominance" and "Overwhelming presence" are not words I would ever associate with Trapper) it needs to be said:

Trapper is probably one of the least deserving Killer to need a nerf in the name of game-health.
