I have the perfect solution for Skull Merchant - devs should read this

And it's a very simple solution:

Increase the cooldown from hacked drones for 2 minutes, with this cooldown, Skull Merchant players will have to stop that boring gameplay of sitting gens and use drones on loops/chases

The whole problem about this killer is that a hacked drone just have a small 45 seconds cooldown actually, and because if this is very easy to abuse of spamming drones to protect gens, and we have to keep in mind that she has 6 drones now after the ''rework'' and her drones received a massive buff

Increase the cooldown of hacked drones, and this will force players to use drones in chase, not to defend gens for almost 1 hour

    and is easy to fix this too, she can only use 6 drones in total and not allow her to recall a hacked drone

    if 1 drone is hacked, she can only 5 drones

    if 2 drones is hacked, she can only use 4 drones

    if 3 drones if hacked, she can only use 3 drones

    if 4 drones is hacked, she can only use 2 drones

    the solution is to increase the hacked drone cooldown and not allow to recal if a drone is hacked, forcing to use more in loops, i forgot to mention the part of recalling drones

    Doesn't solve the issue that drones have no real counter in chase

    The easiest solution would be finding a way to remove stacks.

    Getting injured for free mid-chase is probably one of the most frustrating and inexplicable things that leads people to increase their hatred towards this already terrible abomination.

    theres 4 survivors

    she can still use 2 drones, and drones is supposed to be used in chase, not to defend chases

    Well, this would feed into the new trend of giving every killer hard counters on hand. And I bet that Skull Merchant without a power will be soooo much fun to use.

    You do realize that this isn't exactly true anymore, right? The new gen system pretty much makes it to where unless she gets the best 3-gen spawn possible through RNG while also running Overcharge + Oppression she can't really stall games out for very long anymore. Now she can only stall out a match for a max of roughly like 20-30 minutes at most if she's playing right and a typical DBD match is usually like 10-15 minutes.

    I think that I have a bit of a solution for that problem that I think would be fairly reasonable/tolerable for both sides which is that successfully hacking a drone removes a Lock-On stack much like how failing at hacking a drone adds a Lock-On stack. This kind of change would actually be like with Onryo's mechanics and I think that this change would not only make it a little more fair when it comes to removing a Lock-On stack(since it's not currently possible at the moment) while also giving a little more interactivity to her power for the survivors since it'd make it to where there's a reason to hack the drones.

    Agreed. They’re might be ways to improve the experience for survivors and the killer to maintain a healthy balance but a nerf isn’t always the answer.


    I wish I knew what the solution is but I am not a skull merchant main. I would be curious to know their thoughts on what they think would be a good idea if anything.

    This would be a nerf to her, and a harsh one at that, something she definitely does not need.

    Skull Merchant isn't nearly as powerful as the top tier killers in the game.

    I'm a Skull Merchant main and the main nerf that I think would be a bit more reasonable/tolerable for me is either the Hindered being reduced all the way down to like 3% (which isn't very much at all, but is still ok with the 3% Haste she gets) instead of the current like 10-15% it is rn or just have it removed entirely. From my personal experience it's one thing to get the injure with the drones, but the Hindered effect can sometimes be more work than what it's worth and the Haste effect is more useful than the Hindered effect. Also I made a comment right before yours stating a potential solution idea for survivors removing Lock-On stacks.

    then you make her power useless because survivors can hack a drone in less than 1 second, good first step but this is not what she needs


    i think survivors shouldd be more rewarded for hacking a drone instead of punish her for simply existing, like, ´´survivors who hack a drone can´t be tracked for x time´´ or something like that

    You do realise, that she can only use her drones in chase now, right? Drones do not detect you when you stand still. So you can work on a gen unbothered. I'm really not sure what the point of this nerf would be. You'd just take away her chase power, which also would be kind of ridiculous.

    SM doesn't need nerfs. She needs a full on rework. The devs have tried 3 times to make stationary drones work and they failed each time. This is the part of her power that needs to change. Area denial already makes her horrible to play against but area denial with a large range is what actually pushes her over the edge.

    I find the two ideas to be both reasonable and tolerable which could be fair for both sides. Also it'd justify the 45 second cooldown for hacked drones since that would give survivors a decent amount of chances to lower their stacks if needed.

    As a on/off SM player, all she really needs is a recall cooldown of like 10-30 seconds after a drone is disabled and the hindered removed and rebalanced onto her haste bonus from clawtrapping survivors. At least in my opinion.

    And this is why I lose most of my matches against SM. Nobody disables the drones in loops and they disable the ones at gens to give themselves away.

    disable traps mechanics are far too exploitable by 4 man SWF. Unless they weaken 4 man SWF, I do not see them changing skull merchant.

    Skullie don't need nerfs or buffs she is in a good state. But no matter how they would change her, make her the worst killer in the game survivors would still just give up and refuse to play against her.

    She is as balanced as she can be now and kill rate will always be very high since survivors give up. If they all play to win no hook suicides then kill rate would probably be 60% at the most.
