Pig Having a Default TR is Wasted Potenital
Hello everyone, I want to play a game where Pig gets the music she rightfully deserves. With her upcoming buffs, I feel like now would be the best time to mention something like this.
Pig gets much more love than a lot of the other licenced cast, getting multiple fresh cosmetics, a tome, and the Saw Chapter tends to be one of the few BHVR consistently advertises even years after it's launch.
With that in mind, isn't kinda crazy that a license with so much more freedom than the typical arrangement be stuck with a killer who's still using default music?
It isn't necessarily like it'd be hard to find a fitting tune either, Hello Zepp makes such consistent appearances in the Saw franchise it kinda just is the theme music of the series. As a big fan of Pig, an addition as little as this would make already one of my favorite killers that much cooler.
I understand BHVR would have to open it's wallet for a free update to a years old Killer, but I feel like they've made enough similar changes in the past that this wouldn't be too high an ask for them.

I always thought about that. The devs seems to have a good partnership with the Saw franchise. The Pig should have her own chase music and lobby theme. She could also have a legendary skin that turns her into Hoffman.

The Saw Soundtrack, especially all the original score created for the films, is owned and licensed by its writer: Charlie Clouser. Because Charlie owns the rights and licensing control over that score, negotiations for it to be in DbD would have to go to him instead of the movie producers/directors/writers who own all of the characters, story, film rights, an so on.
It doesn't help that Charlie Clouser has a reputation for committing his music to only 1 property at a time, and refuses to budge once a deal is made. Basically, getting him to agree to putting his original score for the Saw franchise into a videogame, would require that the game be ONLY about the saw franchise, and have full royalties rights for every copy sold. Being that Pig already came out years ago, and isn't getting much more in the way of sales... in order for BHVR to convince Clouser, they'd have to get help from the people they are already licensing the character from, AND have enough money to pay Clouser the royalties for every Pig/Saw chapter they've sold to the playerbase as if she always had the licensed music.
Basically, it would honestly be better and more cost effective for BHVR to create their own original score that's just similar enough to feel familiar to the character, but not so similar they could get sued for copyright infringement.

I thought about picking up Pig after the buff and then remembered she's still a 32 meter TR lol. Crappiest stealth killer ever.

This was very informative, thanks!! Shame that the music is likely not in the cards then. Who knows, maybe the music could come as a paid add-on Charlie gets full royalties for. I'd pay for it, though we don't have anything like that in the game currently.

Old post but very true. It's still weird to me that Plague doesn't have her own theme either.
