Deathslinger Improvements

So we all know DS is currently considered like the "bad" range killer that there's no real reason to run him over something like Huntress. I wanted to throw some ideas out as well as have y'all post some of yours to how you'd make him better. To me he currently feels like a high skill requirement for mediocre pay off.

-Decrease TR back to 24m

-Massively increased gun range

-Iridescent Coin could've just been a base kit feature to reward skilled play and taking risks.

He also has a ton of bad addons as well.

What ideas do y'all have?

    Decrease TR back to 24m

I would love that but doubt it.

    Massively increased gun range

There is not really a need for that. At max ranged you often have issue to reel them towards you already.

Iridescent Coin could've just been a base kit feature

    Hell no...

He also has a ton of bad addons as well.

    true

Why not just make him 115%? That would fix his TR issue too.

Some addon changes would be nice too, but that's about it.

"There is not really a need for that. At max ranged you often have issue to reel them towards you already."

Well of course I'm assuming that if they did this they'd also increase reel speed/time to break so that it functions. I can see no need, but it sounds fun, and what else can we give him then? Trying for ideas here.

    "Hell no..."

How often have you actually been hit with this? I can think of maybe once...since his release..how's that so bad?

"Why not just make him 115%? That would fix his TR issue too."

That is a possibility we could do. I guess I prefer taking the slower killers and making their powers worthy of being slow rather than just slapping more speed on them.

I don't remember last time I have played against Deathslinger, but I play him quite a lot, it's not really hard to do in my opinion.

This would make him so much more punishing to play against, where he is already one of best 1v1 killers.

Problem is if you think too much about it, he would end as Trickster / Sadako, basically lose all their original identity, which I would like to avoid.

Simply make him 115% is not complicated change, it would make him better and definetly improved his gameplay. I also don't think it would make him too strong.

I don’t think he needs a lot of changes but I do think he needs another reload buff. The previous buff wasn’t enough and reload addons are still popular so nothing really changed.

And definitely needs some addon changes, they’re not all terrible like Pyramid Head’s but a few stand out as being pretty lackluster, especially Hellshire Iron.

I agree on the reload increased speed but do you think just that and some addon improvements is enough to make him at all comparable to huntress? I don’t think so at all

The three things I would do to Deathslinger is:

    - Increase Terror Radius to 40 meters.

    - Survivors no longer hear the audio whir when the Redeemer is being aimed at them.

    - Increase movement speed to 4.6m/s.

Well he wouldn’t be comparable to Huntress but that’s because Huntress is too strong now.

Glad i'm not the only one who thinks that Deathslinger should be 4,6. Some members here pretend he will be S+++++ killer with this change and i'm done with proving he won't. Just be ready, guys :D

Yeah lol him being 4.6m/s will do the sole thing of helping him catch up to Survivors who w-key on maps that he physically cannot do anything but follow until he gets an angle. On maps where the angles are always there, it won't do anything to him because he has access to his power to get hits already.

4.4m/s with a 32 meter terror radius completely destroys his chances of applying any sort of solid pressure when detaching against good Survivors.

Completely agree. He also has worst map pressure in the game. It won't change much in most chases, but will make him slightly better in other aspects. No one thought that Trickster would ever be 4,6, but he ended up being just slightly better.

The 4.6 would be quite an easy tweak with no developer time to throw on a PTB just to try it out. Literally nothing to lose.

Oh well if you think Huntress is too strong we’re just never going to agree. She barely makes A tier to me and that’s only on a few very, very good Huntresses. For like 99% of the Huntresses you run into they’re playing her at a B level. Which for reference B tier in DBD is like garbage tier and requires many, many mistakes from the survivors to win.
