Killer/Survivor Rank Rewards

I feel like there is no reason to want to rank up in the game other than "bragging rights" and an achievement. All you get is harder matches and players closer to your skill level. There should be more of a reason to rank up so an idea i had with the new cosmetic shop is depending on what rank you get at the end of the season you get X amount of iridescent shards. Obviously the closer to rank 1 you get the more shards or you could do bloodpoints but I think the majority of the community would prefer shards over bloodpoints because you can buy perks at the shrine or some new cosmetics. Does anyone else feel this way?
