Quality of life changes for Calm Spirit and Distortion
I spawn into the match. Distortion activates because the killer has Lethal Pursuer. The killer comes toward me because the survivor I spawned next to does not have Distortion.
I spawn into the match. Calm Spirit prevents me from screaming due to the killer's perk, Ultimate Weapon. The killer comes toward me because the survivor I spawned next to does not have Calm Spirit and screamed.

Changes to these perks
- Either add: You no longer spawn near other survivors at the start of the trial.
- Or add: [Perk effect] Applies to other survivors within 16 meters for the first 30 seconds of the trial.

Or just run away from the other survivors when you see Lethal go off?
Distortion suppresses your scratch marks as well, so you should be able to do that pretty easily.

If the killer's coming my way then they are very likely to see me running. They will definitely target me, knowing I have Distortion, because I will be harder to find later if they DO let me go.

...not to sound too offensive here but this is literally the 3rd post I've read from you that's suggested changes that only really affect you...
Like the above said, if distortion goes off and your next to someone, sneak away. If someone screams, sneak away. Do something yourself instead of asking for a unnecessary change.

Adam screamed next to me at the start of the match. That means the killer is 32m away. We did not spawn with any good cover around. I tried to crouch walk away. The killer found me, not Adam.
My perk successfully countered Ultimate Weapon, but the game just keeps spawning me next to other survivors at the start of the trial and rendering my perks useless.
I'm not asking for insane buffs or reworks. Just some simple quality of life changes.
If I had access to the Shroud of Separation offering as a survivor, I WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION MYSELF...
----
And of course my suggestions affect me.
WHO in this fourm is posting suggestions, saying "Hey, I steamrolled as this killer using these perks, can the devs please nerf me and my playstyle, k thnx!"

Calm Spirit and Distortion do not counter the killer having eyes.

Then bolt further away. That literally just sounds like bad luck that they found you while looking for Adam. I notice a tracking perk go off I treat the other survivors like plague puked on them, sometimes I get unlucky sometimes it works.
Wouldn't quite call it QoL, just a solution to a unfavorable situation. Wouldn't mind giving the shroud to survivors but adding the effects listed is a why situation. Especially since adding the perk effect one nerfs lethal unnecessarily.

Ultimate Weapon and Lethal Pursuer are for killers who don't/can't use their eyes to find survivors.
The killer could have either perk, so I need to waste TWO perk slots to counter lazy killers getting easy info.
I wouldn't have to dodge the killer's eyes if they didn't come my direction because of ANOTHER survivor spawning next to me.

Yes, bad luck.
The changes I suggested prevent this bad luck.

You could flip that statement on its head and say that Calm Spirit and Distortion are for survivors who go down quickly in chase when found.
Neither statement is necessarily true, for what it's worth.

You're bringing perks to hide from the killer. They can't hold your hand in every situation, you need to know how to hide out of sight from the killer as well. Real laziness is refusing to adapt to the situation given to you.

So to prevent bad luck you want either a bad case start for the killer (if everyone runs either or, then everyone rigs it so the game starts with everyone away from each other and can work on 4 separate gens with little to no risk of three genuine themselves) or to nerf tracking perks when needed the most (lethal in particular would be crippled with the second choice).
Instead of having it to chance or ability, you want the above because you don't want any risk to rng. That's what we see.

If everyone ran Distortion/Calm Spirit, I wouldn't be making this post...

Not everyone wants to run distortion/calm spirit...
3 -
Okay...
Then that logic also applies to your statement when you say "if everyone runs the perks then the killer has a bad start."

The things you're suggesting are huge buffs, not quality of life. AOE infinite scream suppression? That's a big buff.
2 -
...your going to need to explain that one to us.
If your talking about how since not everyone wanting to run those perks would seemingly invalidate that argument you'd be incorrect as since even if survivors don't want to run it, they can coordinate and rig it and that would not be due to simple luck.

There's numerous instances in the game where this could happen, like if you and another person are working on a gen together and UW or BBQ goes off. It's just one of those things.

I believe we have an offering that separate from one another, correct?
As someone that ran both of these perks, if I see my team mate I just walk away lol.

In the first place, the killer can determine the survivor's position to some extent from his or her starting position (because there are rules). If you want to make effective use of distortion and CS, leave the scene immediately after starting. Hiding self from the beginning is the biggest mistake in making the most of these Perk.

What are you on about?
FOUR Survivors can, right now, in the game of Dead By Daylight, choose to team up together and all equip Distortion.
By your logic, the killer's perk Lethal Pursuer is wasted and they have a bad start.
If that's the case then WHY does it matter if 4 survivors equip Distortion BEFORE a change is made to it or AFTER, if doing so meant the killer has a bad start?

"You no longer spawn near other survivors at the start of the trial." Your words.
"(if everyone runs either or, then everyone rigs it so the game starts with everyone away from each other and can work on 4 separate gens with little to no risk of three genuine themselves)". Our response to this specific part. This situation is what we are talking about.
Currently if everyone runs distortion, it's a perk slot apiece and the killer will know that everyone is running it. If your second change goes (Applies to other survivors within 16 meters for the first 30 seconds of the trial.) it's much harsher because 1 person can cover for the whole team if they spawn together (which is fairly common for us atleast) and deprives the killer of the aforementioned info because they wouldn't be able to tell if 1 person brought it or 4.

What I do as a Distortion user is start heading towards the killer from a side approach in a sneaky manner because they always make a run over to the survivor spawns. Distortion let's me sneak passed them, then I pretty much have guaranteed free time on gens where the killer originally spawned, as they'll be busy chasing the other survivors who just walked a few yards away from spawn to work on a gen.
