Has anyone had to use the anti camping self unhook?
I’ve never been able to use it because every single time I get even remotely close a survivor comes over and loops the killer right next to the hook.
Just curious if anyone’s been able to use the new mechanic.

I don't think I've ever had the meter charge fully.
Hasn't stopped the fair share of huntress players parking 16m away aiming a hatchet at my face though.

I have, unfortunately it was because a tombstone myers was facecamping (he messed up so I got out of that situation but i have seen others just get moried as soon and they unhook themselves) i think its dumb that his addon bypasses endurance off the hook.

I've never yet witnessed this mysterious moment, unfortunately.

Have seen it fill-up twice on my games - one time against a Myers who was standing in front of the Hook with Tombstone ready. The Survivor did not use it (the Bar was 100% full) to give us the chance to do the remaining Gens.
And one time a Billy decided to let a Meg get off the Hook after he realized that the Nicolas who was also in the Trial was doing nothing and the Billy wanted the Meg to escape instead of the Nicolas.
So yeah... It almost never happens.

All the face camp measures did was legitimize proxy camping. Anyone who wasn't doing so before, is doing so now

Only one time, because the killer had to go afk shortly after hooking me because he had some emergency to deal with.

I dont get why they havent done anything about myers facecamping with tombstone
1 -
Three times, twice in a match with a huntress and we all escaped because she wasn't camping properly and one oni because he went afk for a little bit next to hook.

Maybe once since it was implemented, because most killers know they can stay just out of trigger range and still camp you just fine.
It does next to nothing.

Once. It was against a Pinhead, who unfortunately had the Original Pain addon. I did not make it very far.

I’ve found that if one triggers the self-unhook it is only because the killer has allowed it.

I've had it once, it was a glorious day. Had a Billy camping basement on Hawkins and all my SoloQ teammates actually remembered the anti-camp was a thing and went off and finished the last 2 gens and started on the door instead of sitting around slowing down the gauge. Billy never left the entrance to the basement, anti-camp bar filled, I jumped off, he hit me with endurance, teammates ran back to help me get to the door and we got a 4 man out. Honestly the best teammates I've ever had. Has this ever happened since? God no don't be silly xD. It works in situations like that but those are rare, usually someone tries to save and ends up getting us both killed.
However, I will say the amount of campers I get since the anti-camp was introduced has drastically decreased, which I feel was the point. It's more prevention than a solution. Other side of that coin however is that tunnelling is defo worse than it's ever been.

I mean, they have not done anything about the Tombstones in general, so yeah...

Had it 3 times myself, unfortunately the third time I got it and unhooked just as I went to second stage, and the game bugged out, on my screen showing I went to second stage, on everyone else's screen I was still first stage, so this led to some weird interactions where when I was caught and hooked again, I couldnt being unhooked, and had no progress bar for anticamp or sacrifice timer.
The other times it procced though it was great, 15s basekit Borrowed Time is jazzy AF. The main advantage I like to the AFC is you can almost always at least trade.
I have never played old DBD before basekit Borrowed Time was added, but I can't help but feel anyone complaining about the AFC, doesn't know what it was like playing DBD without Borrowed Time. The AFC as it sits is certainly not something I complain about existing in modern DBD xD

Just once, against a Plague on Wrecker's Yard. I've never seen a killer that dedicated to camping.

Twice. Against a Billy that clearly just wanted to see what someone self-unhooking at second stage hooks like, as after I jumped off he just nodded and chainsawed somewhere else. Goofy little interaction that made me realize it can actually be used by killers that want to "unhook" survivors 😄
The other was a Leatherface that really did try to dance at the edge to prevent it from filling up. Then I jumped off and managed to lose him. He disconnected and called me a racial slur.
The duality of man, I suppose.

When anti-camp first came out it came in clutch a few times, had a couple wraiths an gohstface camp undetectable by the hook, but only got the anti camp because other survivors were being mindful of the mechanic with it just coming out and I was running perks like kindred to synergize, 90% of games especially SoloQ your teams going to go for an unsafe hook get downed crawl right beside the hook ur on and let the killer camp you both..
1 -
I've done it at least once, I think twice, and have seen a couple of games where other survivors pulled it off.
Other than the killer intentionally camping the hook, the only other times I've seen it is when the killer runs back and forth in front of the survivor thinking a rescue is coming, but no rescue is happening because the hooked survivor has kindred.
1 -
I've done it twice. Both times against Wesker.
Rarely see it though but I will say that the threat of it has significantly reduced the amount of camping I see.
1 -
Once in probably 500+ games. The problem is your teammates have no idea what the meter is on so it never works. If people could see it on the HUD then maybe they would stop hovering around the hook like morons.
1 -
Once, right after they implemented it. I don't think the killer knew about the rule change. He seemed surprised and flustered that it happened.
1 -
Once against a Bubba, who proved to me very quickly that Bubba can still facecamp.
1 -
Yes though not often, I have had it work several times.
The other day I had a Bubba who must have caught a time machine from 2020 as he tried to Insidious basement camp me but he had two issues:
1) I always run Kindred
2) The self unhook mechanic
He didn't even realise I had unhooked myself for long enough for me to have made a lot of distance and he ultimately lost the match lmao

It'd be dumb for the addon to be unusable if they have endurance, but a 5-10 second timer after unhook that doesn't allow them to be moried would be nice, but only on unhook. Would be awful if all endurance did that.

I think I've done it once, maybe more. The last notable example I can remember is when a Trickster stood in my face. I unhooked myself, and he hit me as soon as my feet touched the ground, eliminating my endurance. And then he tunneled from there.
So the anti-facecamp got me nowhere, and I don't plan to unhook myself with it again...
1 -
Trickster is a nasty camper/tunneller due to his ability to spam knives. Pretty much impossible to get a save from a hard camping Trickster
2 -
I've had it happen 1x in my games as survivor but it was mostly due to the killer hooking me close to another hooked survivor and he was trying to guard them.

We always stack reassurances in our team and that makes the anti-camp proc pretty often. Then we wait last second and jump for max damage. Also broke Hens' all perk streak doing that
1 -
I think I've gotten it twice. First time either killer wasn't aware of the AFC since it was still fairly new and facecamped and tunneled everyone or just didn't care about it.
Second time I don't think the killer knew how far 16m was because he wanted to proxy camp but still was in range.

I had a game once with this Clown proxy camping me
The bar filled up as I got to the struggle phase, so I started spamming the unhook animation (because you can't do the unhook animation during the 2nd phase unless you can self unhook)
2 teammates still came to rescue me. I self unhooked when they got really close just as a message .Of course I got tunneled out.
Now I know many people still don't understand this anti-camp mechanic
