Doctors shock therapy can prevent hatch escapes???
TIL.
I really don't feel like this should be a thing. Like, how the hell should a shock prevent me from jumping into hatch to escape?

The same way that it prevents vaulting windows and pallets, I guess.

That is a one-in-a-million occurrence that you will probably never experience again

Indeed. Just really surprised me because I had no idea this was a thing.

Are you looking for real life explanation? A big enough shock will make you lose control of your body so you wouldn't be able to jump into a hatch.
In video game reality, it fits with the logic of the game.

It should not be a thing. But honestly, I think it happens very, very rarely that you are about to jump into the Hatch and are then hit by a Shock which prevents it. Not really worth changing.
On the other hand, Doctor preventing Unhooks with his Shocks is a whole different thing which should be changed at some point.

"Yea that one situation that has 0.005% chance of happening should not be a thing, lets neft it guys."

On the hatch jump. Why shouldnt it? Doctors not that effective. Most of his effectiveness comes from the shock interrupting stuff. And using a power to prevent a survivor from getting a escape they probably didnt really earn in the first place doesnt seem that unfair to me considering if you close it the survivor also gets the gates to escape. The game gives survivors a lot of opportunities. And this it actually comes down to doctors timing. I dont really see a leg at all to move.

Yeah, you did not even read my post. I said it is not really needed to change that.

Yeah i did i was just asking what the reasoning would be for it to "should not be a thing" since both of us know its probably not changing. I just dont see who can see it a problematic in the first place so i thought id ask why you thought that.

Because Hatch is a way of escaping the Trial. You cannot stop Survivors from leaving through the Gate either when you shock them. And while Shocks interrupt the gate opening, Madness 3 does not prevent it.
So the intention is quite clear that Survivors should be able to escape in Madness 3 or when the Gate is open and they are being shocked. Would be weird if Hatch would be the exception (and the only reason it most likely is is because it requires an input to escape via Hatch).

Dbd is a game about exceptions i guess lol. For instance victor prevents escaping through the gates. Does he stop the hatch? Nope. Pig kills you if you run through the gates with a active trap. Not jumping through the hatch. So i guess doctors the only reverse. Fair point though.

It should stay because it's funny to do it on someone teabagging at the hatch.
