I feel like the skull is teasing that we're going to get an announcement about the game. I don't see them releasing him as a killer prior to the game's release (especially far enough in advance we don't know when the release date is) and even then, they might plan it to be a chapter or two after to avoid spoilers right when the game releases. Although I'm excited either way since they've been teasing the same exact thing about the game since the announcement and finally teased something new.

It'd make sense though having him in the game. His own game would be an expansion of his lore, but as far as DBD is concerned he just needs to be able to kill survivors

The way that every licenced chapter recently has been genuinely awful and End Transmission and All Things Wicked have been the only good content drops this year

with 2 forgettable survivors (seriously I never bought them), with terrible map (garden of joy), with crappy perks and then one obnoxious perk (made for this). I also hate playing vs singularity it always a boring match imo. Plus his chase music is awful. I would say the only good thing about the chapters have been dredge.

The way this also applies to Alien Chucky and Alan Wake too.

I don't see it being Frank Stone at all until the game has finally come out. There's no reason to release the killer at the same time as or before the game, because the appeal would be that we get to see him in DbD AFTER learning his deal in Casting, after having become familiar with him. I think they're just gonna nail down a date for Casting's release and it's getting a solid part of the anniversary marketing because releasing their first serious installment in the franchise besides DbD itself is pretty huge, you know?

I feel like it's probably just more to generate hype for an announcement about the game during the anniversary stream, like a release date. MYM released a short time before the last anniversary and people thought there would be a crossover anniversary chapter, but the crossover just turned out to be cosmetics.

I think it’s probably Vecna. However I’d really prefer an original spider killer for the “8” legs. More indoor maps please, we’ve got a disproportionate amount of outdoors now.

Seeing this argument over whether the original or licensed chapters sucked this year is crazy cause I kinda loved all of them. Killers were cool with my only major nitpick being Xeno's tail windup. I love Chucky so much tbh he's one of my new favorite killers. Toba is actually pretty fun when you aren't playing Rush or Ranged killers, and I like Singularities power even if he's hard to use. Unknown was obvs a massive W.

Maybe I'm just an optimist. It's a shame that leaks have made it rather obvious who the next killer will be, but they certainly sound like a fun inclusion, so the presentation ought to be cool.

Yeah there’s of course some killers that indoor maps are bad for but I’d say the majority are fine on them. Also those outdoor maps that’s are great for killers like Billy are awful for all the stealth killers so it’s only fair we’ve got an even spread. I also simply just think indoor maps are healthier design.
