SWF on VC is the reason why the balance in this game is skewed
Why does this game even allow you to make a premade 4 person group when it's a 1 vs 4? Nothing to punish voice chat yet are not balancing the game around them? It is not fair for one team to play solo, then have 4 people on comms. Why is there no regulation on the external use of voice chat? It is game breaking. Can't play any stealth killer with a SWF on communications, and cannot play any killer that uses traps against SWF with communication. You have to deal with SWF using broken combos with no counter.
I am more shocked how people are complaining more about tunnelling and camping than a 4 man group on communications.
The difference between a solo survivor, and a 4 man on communications is a complete joke and then people complain why killers are OP when it is possible to have every single player in this game be in a premade 4 man on communications literally giving them advantages equivalent to like 10 perks if they wanted to.
Survivors complain why people play the same 'broken' killers. You constantly have 4 man group in higher mmr where using any killer with any big disadvantage is a guaranteed loss. Try playing a killer such as trapper against a SWF where they are telling their friends your exact trap location, making the killer's ability completely useless or a stealth killer.
Cool, people can play with their friends, then how is BHVR going to balance this around players playing solo? Everyone including their mother can see they are struggling to balance this game. Solo players are as punished as killers because of the SWF system. Because of this system, BHVR has to assume everyone is playing in a premade, otherwise, it would be completely impossible to win against SWF. If you noticed, the only people who are not complaining about balance are the people in SWFs. The only people who I've seen counter them are those with thousands of hours. Reaching high MMR as killer isn't hard because lower MMR is full of solo Q survivors. Now I am stuck playing with constant 4 man swf bullying squad that I just cannot be bothered. Many killers I enjoy playing, where I cannot even use my ability because of VC is completely idiotic.
If you see I made previous posts complaining about solo Q, started playing killer and now I understand why the balance in this game is messed up. Tunnelling, camping and slugging are nothing but a reaction to SWF. That entire system needs to go otherwise there will be no improvements to balance. Even I started tunnelling and slugging because now I have to assume everyone is playing in a 4 man, and that is what a lot of killers assume as well. Unfortunately, I see no improvements to balancing until SWF is limited to custom games or reduced to 2 players maximum. Until that system is gone, I don't think I will return to this game. Solo Q is so bad that I had to switch to playing Killer, spent so much money on Survivor then later heard from the community that you are not supposed to win without a premade. I've been attacking killers the whole time when they weren't even the problem in the first place, it's the way this game is designed is the problem. Anyways good luck to you guys hanging to the thread of hope, it's only going to get worse.

no but text/voice chat for everyone would ruin the immersion of the game. false immersion is more important than actually having fun according to devs and some vocal players. there's no balancing problem, swf doesnt give that much of an advantage, hud info is enough trust, dont do critical thinking.

From a 3 or 4 man on comms perspective, the game is relatively balanced as it comes down to which side being more determined to win. (Comp tier callouts, strong items, meta Killer addons, map offerings etc) Since the game doesn't tell you if you're going against or queuing with a premade or not, when people share negative game experiences, it ends up being people talking about two different things.
Killer talks about coordinated teams gen rushing, not making mistakes because of location call outs.
Solo queue Survivor talking about teammates making weird decisions, bad mistakes, giving up on hook etc.

While the experience between versing solo and swf can be like night and day, I can't see the devs making any changes . They seem to focus alot on kill rates, and the difference in kill rates between solo and swfs is negligible in the largest MMR bracket, and slightly higher in high MMR (which is, per the devs, only a small percentage of the playerbase). And not every game you play would be facing these teams. Again, per the devs, solo makes up the bulk of the survivor base, then duos, then trios, and finally 4man swfs make up the smallest percentage. The biggest issue with matches, imo, is SBMM. There is way way too much variance in skill in matches these days. Something isn't working.

The difference between solo and SWF is a lot. But make no mistake, this game is 100% making changes as if all survivors are in a SWF. This is the main argument of solo survivors which make up well over half the player base. Killers have buffed again and again and again to combat SWF (which are a tiny fraction of the player base, 4 man making up less than 10%) and solos just get to be cannon fodder.

Only high MMR 4man SWFs have a big difference in survival rate compared to Solos and even then it's still under 50%.

The game allows it to sell better. It was added within one month after release in patch 1.0.3 due to popular demand or maybe because they did not have it ready earlier. Blizzard released Starcraft 2 without chat as well so something like that is not unheard of. I am inclined to believe them on this though.
In any case there is no point in complaining. This will never change. You cannot regulate it without essentially having spyware on everyone's machine. The only thing to do is try to adjust: If you smell a 4man coming on a stealth killer, send yourself to an indoor map. Or dodge the lobby. Or quit the game like you are about to - maybe the best choice.

If you effectively want to kill the game then remove the ability to play with friends... There are so many people that only play because they have friends that play the game, just like in many other games as well. I think a while ago around 52% of players were in some form of party, while 48% were solos. So if you want to half your player base go for it xD
The real issue is that this information gap between solo and swf exists in the first place, if you wanted a balanced experienced you would either need to give voice chat, text chat, a chat wheel, massive aura reading or additional HUD info's and what not or a combination of all those options just to close the gap and still have issues with language barriers and what not. It is still baffling that basically every online multi-player game in existance has some form of communication but the devs and the community seem to be super afraid of it for whatever weird reason... I have never heard people complain that they want those features removed in other games, why even when you can easily mute or disable them...

This topic again? I will say something small op. No swfs do complain about the game balance because survivor is still miserable to play. You do not even know on these forums who is a swf and who is a solo complaining unless you can mind read. I am pretty sure both solo que and swf complains lol cause am one of them who swfs.
Survivor is so bad that the many friends I have who use to play the game have moved on to many other kind of games specially some of them are streamers like myself. It is even a rare miracle to get a 4 man at times now because of the many friends I lost who have moved on since 6.1 from now.
In closing I will say this on every swf topic complaint. Dbd is the only game I see people complain about swf so much cause reality is killers want easy games and pretending like they care of solo que when all they do is tunnel/camp out the baby 0 meg is the reason why so much swf. Resident evil resistance/identity v/tcm/evil dead=no swf complaints ever.

Your second point is wrong though ^^ android is per definition a machine that looks like a human (and also acts like one) , based on the ancient Greek words for men/human and for look (as in appearance), so you might be a machine, but you are not an android :)

That depends by which definition you go... All of them have in common that they closely ressemble humans, however some say they also need to behave like humans or similar to them others say they just do tasks humans can, to say that aspect would be wrong is questionable in general, debatable when you name a specific one though.
Quickly checked that and apparently the term came up in the 1700s and was first described as: "elaborate mechanical devices resembling humans performing human activities, were displayed in exhibit halls."
But that part of the definition is not relevant anyway to say that the Singularity is not an Android.

How in the world could they do anything about comms being used, if they actually wanted to? Discord is it's own separate thing, and the consoles have built-in comms that are entirely separate from whatever game is being played. There's no way to regulate that.
As far as removing SWF, that is one of the true things that could kill off this game. It is one of the biggest reasons for DBD's success, and drives cosmetic sales tremendously.

This game is balanced around a 4-man SWF playing vs a bad killer. That there are still people claiming SWF to be the issue is comical, and literally sums up how much gamesense this playerbase has.

Most SWF aren't even that good. People see 3 TTV in pre lobby and think they're going to be playing some pro team when in reality they're just average.
Killer at the moment feels heavily balanced around playing against a good 4 man SWF. That's one of the main reasons solo queue is such a ######show at the moment and people are just rage quitting in 1-3 mins in like 75% of solo queue games.
I agree SWF is bad for the game but it's not because it's unfair to killers. It's because it completely decimates the quality of solo queue games when they try to cater towards SwF v Killer balance.

I would argue that SWF is balanced and Solo Queue is unbalanced but not for the reasons you think.
Matchmaking makes solo queue a nightmare, because you are now not only having to worry about The Killer and their perks/playstyle but also The Survivors and their perks/playstyle. The only thing that SWF gives you that impacts the game (to an extent) that tilts the scales is reliability… Why? Because this ensures that people WILL be on gens, that players WILL take hits where it matters, that players WILL trade hooks if they have to…. the list goes on. Most of those things require a choice from the player themselves, and most of them aren't willing to do any of them because they feel as though they gain nothing or they are just being selfish. Not realizing the impact it will have on completing their objective.

I love posts like this. Everyone that plays seems to have forgotten this game is not ABLE to be balanced. It was built from the ground up with that in mind.
Party game, one to mess with and have fun.
Definitely not a comp game. That would just make people miserable if… wait…

I've been losing majority of my solo games. That the only way I ever bother opening the game. Is if my one friend is willing to join. Even then you can see when a lose is coming from a mile away, and we only in gold ranks. When I play killer. Which is rarely cause I'm a survivor main and become very empathic way to easily. When I see someone give up mid chase. I don't even feel like killing them. Because I understand how bad it is for them. To not be able to play with a group. Would be even more garbage for survivors.

Gold ranks only shows how much you play, the game uses mmr and the ranks/grades are not used for matchmaking but only for the reward you get after each month...

if people wanna say an android is a robot that looks human and acts human, they can. the first part already makes it correct. every square is a rectangle after all.
limiting it to also include how actions are performed is not important and honestly counter productive. just imagine if we defined vehicles as having 4 wheels, 2 one person seats in the front and 1 big seat in the back for 2 to 3 people? you know, cars. so now bikes, airplanes, wagons… none of those are vehicles anymore and we now need a new name for the entire group. instead of just naming the new 1 thing.
it's unnecessary. androids are just human looking robots, acting like a human is just a subsect of it. like cars is to vehicles.
also, if an android walked into lava or the bottom of the ocean or space, got a sample of something and then walked out. would they stop being an android since a human can't do that task?

I think the easiest solution would be to apply an impact multiplier. If the killer is top mmr, reduce time a gen needs to repair by x. If it's swf with high mmr, dont. If its swf with average mmr, apply multiplier to a certain point (percentual difference between mmr for example).
Solo q get's easier that way and comp stays the same.1 -
BVHR is suppose to balance killers to be strong enough such that when they face SWF, they're capable of winning. The issue is that they don't and whenever they do improve killers, there is always backlash.

This is definitely quite exaggerated.
The biggest problem in solo queue are teammates anyways, which has nothing to do with the game's balance. Of course, solo queue does have it's struggles, especially camping and tunneling.
Solo queue could definitely receive more information to work with, like basekit kindred, and camping and tunneling also should be nerfed more. But solo survivor isn't just cannon fodder.
