How come these 3 didn't get their own maps?

Blight, Twins, and Trickster didn't get their own realms/maps. Does anyone know why?

These three killers were released during the corona pandemic. I guess this situation made it very difficult for BHVR to create unique maps for all of them too or they needed the team for another job during this time. Iirc, the Twins and Nemesis release were a huge mess which could also be a hint for that.

They released during the time the devs were graphically overhauling maps. So they probably had less resources to work on new maps as they were too busy updating all the others.

And as others have said, they would have been in development during COVID so the resources would have been even less so new maps would’ve been less of a priority.

To make a new map requires a lot of work & time. When you see the last reworked maps & their actual/last design, you can easily understand the difficulties it requires to make some new ones. Devs are already strangling to balance the old ones…

To be fair, Twins and Trickster's updates already broke the game in an innumerable number of ways, and I genuinely dread to think just how much worse it could've been if there were fewer resources on Blight (working on a map) to ruin every chapter that released between Silent Hill and Sadako Rising, and if there were fewer resources on Twins and Trickster respectively I unironically think BHVR's office would have somehow imploded despite people working from home.

No, in retrospect, and especially given the state of the game during that period of DBD, I think that there being no map released was for the best.

I'd personally like to think of it more as a killer actually getting a map being the exception these days.

Bubba and GF didn't get a home map. Neither did Sadako, Pinhead, or Chucky. Granted, all of them were licensed. But it did set a precedent. Wesker strictly speaking didn't get a home map either, but since his release came with the RPD split he may as well share it with Nemesis.

Oni was said not to come with one, but came with Sanctum. Merchant came with the Shelter Woods overhaul.

As I say, getting a map with a new release is not guaranteed by any means. Might they get an associated map in the future…maybe? Doubt it, though.

I believe at that time they were working on updating old maps with better tiles and spawns with graphic updates.

I'm just surprised they haven't worked on giving them their own maps nowadays.

Not necessarily for non licensed killers. Also, chucky came with the rework to Ormond. It's an exception for a killer not to have their own map. That's why it's odd that those killers didn't get their own maps even now.

I really think they could create a new main building for Blight in Red forest. And a main building for Twins in Crotus. And everyone would be happy about it.

Trickster would need another realm though.

Given the state of the game after 7.7.0 I'm not sure they have the resources to lol

Twins could have been getting a variation of the swamp map
