Twins now has a higher kill rate than Skull Merchant
My request to the devs is please stop reworking killers, because "rework" in their eyes clearly means to make a killer ridiculously overpowered and then when more people obviously play it they see it as a success. 80% of your playerbase are survivors, it's time to start thinking about their fun as well. If every game was against SM or Twins the majority of the playerbase would quit.

Source on the claim they are beating out SM?
6 -
It has only been a few weeks and they were also bugged. Give it a bit of time and the kill rate will decrease again. This happens every time they release a new killer or rework an old killer.
8 -
I suspect that the issue will be exacerbated by a lot of survivors just going next on first hook, as with SM. Though I cant obviously provide data on that
8 -
every single time

Wesker has the 6th lowest kill rate on nightlight currently and yet he's getting nerfed next patch, so what's your point again ?
Also going by your precious kill rate Sadako and Pig should be nerfed cause they're in top 5 highest kill rates while Xeno and Artist should be buffed cause they're in the top 5 worst kill rates atm, would you agree with all of these changes ? I mean you should considering how you think these stats are completely infallible ...
5 -
Only 20% are killer mains???
Thats bad…
0 -
20% being killer mains is the ideal percentage I imagine for queuing purposes.
3 -
Thats why you think that 80% are survivors?
0 -
no, I think 80% are survivors bc people like playing on teams more than a solo experience. I imagine they’d want to keep the killer player base around 20 % bc that’s how math works, 100% for a match divided by 5 players and only 1 spot for killer is 20%.
ie for every 4 survivors you’d need 1 killer which is 20% for ideal queuing times, otherwise one side is lobbying for a long time.2 -
Those stats are including when she was released with the bug allowing you to remove Victor nearly immediately. That was a massive buff that was unnecessary unintended, so the kill rates you are looking at are artificially higher than she realistically is since they just fixed that bug. So those stats aren’t accurate.

Twins is jsut the worst killer they ever designed
Nobody likes to play against it
Nobody likes to play it (aside from 3 people maybe)
Im a killer main, i dont play survivor much. I played against the twins yesterday and its just 0 fun, there is 0 mindgame to victor. Every twins games feel very boring.
When i have to play as the twins for a challenge or ritual, man does it feels boring. The killer is designed with facecamping in mind. Absolutely unfun
They should just delete them at this point

A majority of people play soloq though.

Twins do not have a higher kill rate than Skull Merchant (even when the recall timer was incorrect), please don't forget that the stats that you see online are not official and are not fully accurate. And definitely, given their usage percent, not every match is against Twins and / or Skull Merchant.

Thanks!

That's an opinion though. I personally like the twins a lot. The tag team aspect of this character is incredible and leaves a lot of space for creative gameplay. Victor Airlines also exists.
Some people like them, others don't.
I love Pig. Others despise her.
That's no reason to call for a character to be erased.
4 -
So you are one of the 3 people that like this killer
Since BHVR works only from spreadsheets and stats, their own stats state that this killer is a failure since its launch. The playrate has been abysmal for years, thats not without reason and its not because the killer is weak or bugged, thats just not true. A good twin player can crush most of their games by playing dirty (i mean, playing with the killer design in mind which is facecamping)
Its not an opinion when the vast majority of the community thinks the same
1 -
I'm not trying to be funny, it's really just math. Even if you soloq, survivor is still the team side even if you don't swf. I'm just explaining why 20% player base for killer isn't bad. It's not personal. I don't care to get into who/what/when/where it's not ideal for the player bases to be anything other than 80 surv/ 20 killer % split, when a match is 4surv/1killer.
0 -
It actually still is an opinion, just an opinion that is shared by the majority of the community. And people are allowed to have opinions that aren't shared by the majority of the community.

It's funny, I have never seen twins as a tag team. To me, for them to be a tag team would mean both of them would pose a threat and that is just not true. Victor is the real killer bc he is the only one who has any lethality to him whereas Charlotte is just a boring power m1 killer who is just there to pick up her brother's downs. This is one of the major reasons I hate playing them is bc you are forced to play Charlotte for 30 seconds after every successful injury(if the survivor holds on to victor which happens a lot at least in my few games as them). I just do not see them the way others do. This is why I have been saying that wish Charlotte herself was just a little more interesting to play.

Literally without fail. Even Singularity had a decent kill rate the first couple days and many of us remember how weak it was at the time. Iirc it only took them 3 days for a hotfix which greatly buffed Singularity.
It's only natural that people take a while to adjust to a new or reworked killer. For the one playing them, that's much easier though.
1 -
No, I absolutely understand your reasoning. I did never intend to offend you or go into anything else.
However, this logic is flawed when looking at the overall playerbase, because there simply is no clear cut between survivor players and killer players. People play both roles.
2 -
You ignored almost everything I said. But ok...
The twins are not weak. That much is true.
The reason of why they are played extremely rarely is because they are constantly bugged. There was a bug not too long ago that when you switched between Charlotte and Victor it was very likely to get stuck in play looking down. The Twins-player would not be able to even move anymore.
This bug was in the game for months. The killer never got killswitched.
Other bugs like Victor dying mid air or Victor getting stuck on weird stuff are also in the game since release.
That combined with the aspect of the player getting kicked in the face when playing correctly (getting a hit with Victor), the ~7 second cooldown after each hit with Victor and the problem of holding Victor hostage are enough reasons for people to ignore the unique gameplay they provide and choose another character.
That is the true reason of why the twins have a low pick rate i suppose out of 3 years of experience that I have in this game and the community.

At one moment this website had The Pig in the top 5
And yet she is often considered one of the weakest killers
What now?
0 -
They think, this is why ptb 8.0.0 exist.
Sad0 -
Yeah, they should give it a couple of months minimum before making changes based off survivor feedback for sure when it comes to re-works/new killers. Knee jerk reactions can be a little much sometimes.
0 -
I main Pig and Sadako. M1 killer is my bread and butter.
In terms of twins, i like to use Victor in different ways. Info is one example of using him. Just leave him at a certain point you want to have info about and then try to chase survivors into him. Get the hit as Charlotte, get the down as Victor. A ton of fun but probably not super efficient.
0 -
Yes, absolutely there are people who enjoy playing both sides. It will never be cut and dry, to that I agree. It's still ideal to have at any given time 80% playing survivor, and 20% playing killer.
0 -
Pig is actually a lot better than the community gives her credit for. She's just bad in comp because she will get pre dropped to hell and beyond.
0 -
That is true.
0 -
There needs to be a lot more than 20% playing killer, because many survivors leave the game when they die, and queue up for a new game, even though the current game is still happening.
2 -
we are talking about people playing. Not people giving up
0 -
Many games involve at least one survivor dying before the game is over, even if that survivor never gave up.
1 -
If you have 60% of the player base playing survivor, and 40% playing killer. Whose queuing time is going up? Again, I’m not trying to be funny but there’s only 5 spots per match making and the “match” won’t start unless the conditions of 4 survivors and 1 killer is met. It doesn’t matter who got out of what match when as long as there is 80/20 condition or 4/1. If the player base is shifting too heavily to one side or the other, what do you think a developer reaction will be? Look at it as if you were analyzing data. I’m sure if the percent is off little from 80/20 give or take either side not much of a concern, but if it’s off by a lot, big concern bc that is very telling.
0 -
It absolutely matters if survivors leave a game early.
If a current game only has 2 alive survivors in it, and the other 2 survivors have already queued up for a new game, then the ratio for the current game is 1 killer and 2 survivors.
1 -
There is only 1 killer spot to fill, so the algorithm is going to prioritize a survivor queuing up to fill spots probably based off wait time and how many slots in a lobby need to be filled and if there are a lot of people on mmr. If not less mmr based. Region. It’s going to run a programming language to meet 4v1 requirements to quickly fill slots based off conditional triggers to action . Programming language for that does not care if a killer is currently in match with 4 or 2 survivors left bc outside of that it’s looking for not in lobby which is 4/1 or 80/20. Idk if I’m making sense.
0 -
Your logic is incorrect. It doesn’t matter if a game requires 1 killer and 4 survivors to start, because the 4 survivors aren’t locked into that game for its entire duration.
Someone else might be better at explaining this to you. I just ran out of different ways to explain this.0 -
I understand what you’re saying, but in terms of numbers regardless of what’s going on in game, when people are queuing up(it does not matter if they just logged on or just got out of a match, or how many times a killer/survivor got in lobby to go again or what order they exit match) roughly 80 out 100 people need to be queuing up as survivor and 20 out of 100 people as killer. It’s really that simple.
0 -
Oh no, a killer is beating out another killer on a completely meaningless stats page, however will the game continue living
There are a myriad of arguments you could make for Twins being a smidge overtuned right now but "They're beating SM out on the stats" is such a nothing burger that I can feel myself getting hungry for a actual burger just by reading it
0 -
You absolutely 100% need to consider the ratio of players in active games.
In other words, if we take all the players logged into DBD right now, more than 20% of them need to play the killer role.
Anyways, I’m done here. I officially stopped caring.
0 -
out of curiosity would you be able to tell us how many other killers have a higher winrate than Twins currently?
0 -
I haven't even seen a single Twins yet so I'm not even qualified to make a post on the matter
0 -
not really. It’s 1v4 so 20%v80% it amazing
1 -
It's something like 53% or so Solos. A majority but not overwhelmingly.
0 -
must be high MMR monsters that dev were talking about.
0 -
I agree! For matchmaking its a great ratio. To give an overview over the playerbase, its a horrible and illogical statement. There is no clear cut like that.
If 53% of the players play soloq, then the other 47% have to be killer and 2man, 3man and 4man swf. Putting it in this relation, I do think its a majority.
0 -
But still gameplay against twins is miserable.
0 -
Nightlite isn't official stats. It's all user submitted

Twins are so unenjoyable to play, that the Twins main streamers don’t want to play them anymore. I remember a time, where a giant chunk of their streaming content involved back to back Twins games.
…but now it looks like playing as Twins is so very unenjoyable, that they are trying really hard to do everything except play as Twins.
And who can blame them? They were promised a Twins rework to make the killer feels less frustrating on both sides, and the rework was an absolute disaster that got scrapped….. but at least Victor hostages were still gone…… And then BHVR brought back Victor hostages and made them worse. BHVR has completely and utterly failed the Twins players.
0 -
Not only the twins players but also survivor players. No one wants to play against them.
0 -
Sometimes I forget that this game is called Dead by Daylight, as it seems that survivors tend to think they are supposed to escape from 75-100% of their matches.
