Why the heck when I play as a survivor that I get strapped with players that are about as helpful as hotdog water with the killer usually way high ranked prestige, and when I play the killer they are like tournament players that own the game in minutes. I'm new and not a good killer, so that's not the issue. What the heck is wrong with this system?

I don't know…why do I get matched as killer to either potato survivors or god loopers survivors. I rarely get a match somewhere in the middle...MMR system in this game sucks imo.

I uploaded a similar post not long ago.

In my 14th game, my third game as the wraith, i got paired as a prestige 0 bloodweb 5 wraith against a presitge 100, a prestige 34 anda prestige 40 something.

Needless to say, i was crushed very badly.

I will not stand here and allow you to denigrate the good name of hotdog water.
    How dare you?!

I randomly get teammates with 50 hours to teammates with 2000 hours. Killers all tend to be between 200 and 2000 hours. Those are not just numbers, they all play accordingly: you can get the infamous green sweater Bill from console who dies within 15 seconds matched with you against a pumpkin head nurse who doesn't miss a single hit, all in the same trial. And in the next game you can get a p100 teammate against an almost perkless doctor who can't land a hit when you are literally in front of him. It's a common knowledge now that matchmaking just doesn't work.

Matchmaking in this game is a potato. Always has been, always will be, and it's sort of a waste of time to even discuss it anymore. It would be better if they made it just completely random with no qualifications at all.

Old rank based matchmaking was much better, at least it was transparent, and survivors were actually incentivized to play well in order to pip instead of hiding all game with Sole Survivor. However ridiculous it might sound, old ranks were a better indicator of skill than the current MMR.

There's a bunch of different reasons why matchmaking is rough. Prioritizing wait time over proper matchmaking and lobby dodging breaking a lobby that could've actually had decent matchmaking are two reasons (of many) why you'll have what feels like such an mismatched lobby. While you may say "I'd rather they prioritize matchmaking over wait times" they have asked that question in quite a few surveys and people vote for shorter wait times every time.
