i dont think this is fair that killers are forced to play vs bots or get DC pen because survivors rage quit.

(and i will quit if im left with bots, i refuse to play versus only bots)

I agree something has to be done about this. I play Spirit or Skull. every 3-4 games I have 2-3 players dc and it’s torture.

I understand you, but I'm also wondering what has to happen for all the other players to disconnect.

I really play killer a lot and I have a case like that about twice a year.

Since I don't usually disconnect, the delay is not that bad too.

Can this apply when you play Survivor and all three of your teammates DC?

I wonder too, the dead guy suicided on hook, i guess they didnt like Plague or my build, its even a map offering they played.

While I don't condone DCing and don't do it myself, if you're playing Skull Merchant then it's almost a packaged deal that there's a high chance Survivors won't put their hearts in that game.

It happened to me in very few matches (and wasn't even playing Skull Merchant). I think these matches can be used to farm stats/bloodpoints, better than eat a DC penalty because of the other side.

I dont play as much killer as i did once, but my experience is that its with all killers, some times failing the first loop is enough, i assume it is because "the game didnt go the way they wanted".

I have played a lot of doc in the past, and blocking a pallet with a shock = 15% chance of a DC, if its the very first pallet add +10% to it.

Yes please. Annoying getting forced to finish a match with nothing but bots.

You are playing plague with thana, ruin, corrupt and pop and you wonder why people DC?

Get rid of reasons why people DC and there won't be anyone disconnecting.

The reasons they DC are their parent's responsibility.

The prerequisite for winning is not giving up.

Except, in that particular match, there was no chance of winning. If there's no chance to succeed, there's no reason to try.

so a game where the killer only has three real perks for 90% of the game is a game where you have no chance at winning?

  • CrypticGirl
    CrypticGirl Member Posts: 656

Yes, when it's three slowdown perks stacked on top of each other, and the Killer keeps Survivors locked in an insta-down state for 90% of the match.

honest question but what else should the killer use?

i am trying to play a build that focuses on dealing with pallets right now instead of slowdowns. i use only one slowdown and then three perks that deal with pallets. it is pretty weak and when it works good i get told that this is as unfun as slowdown cause i take the fun away from playing around pallets.

aura perks are completly dead for me cause every time i do use one three people are immune to them.

So strong builds are a no go??

Pop is useless as long as they keep ruin up, so basicly im having only 3 perks, if they remove ruin i still just have 3 perks.

Corrupt?? after the first down it disables. thats 1 of 12 hook states it secures (if it even does that)

So now im down to 2 perks, and its still too hard?

    • are you serious with that comment??

Also, ruin and corrupt are actually a bad combo, as people will most likely look for boons when Corrupt are up

So killers should moderate their builds, to avoid DCs?? - if thats the case, i think we need full transparency in the game, so killers can see survivor perks and DC if survivors run with 2 or more second chance perks.

Do you only play games that you know that you win in advance?? - if thats the case, then i think you are very self-entitled.

    But they dont stack lol

Corrupt goes away after the first down. (and it gives survivors time to look for ruin, so those 2 are actually a bad combo)

Ruin and Pop does not work at the same time. - so thats not stacking at all

Technically Killers can use whatever they want. If they want to sweat there tushes off to win, that's fine, but they shouldn't be surprised when Survivors feel so defeated that they DC or throw on hook. Killers want to win that badly, congratulations, they won.

that absolutly not anwsers my question.

but from your answer i think i see the problem. what you discribe happens when one side plays competetive to win and the other dont. that has nothing to do with the killer side. when a killer playing for fun faces survivers that came to win he wont have a good time either.

now the real question is what should we do about that. you cant stop people from playing to win since that is what many people like to do when they play and i dont think its fair to blame dcs wich ruin the game for every one on people that play to win.

its not even a dbd eclusive problem you see this in every game the diffrence is most games have some kind of comp/rankt/ladder wich naturally draws in the most competetive players, but even then in normal games most people play to win thats kinda human nature we are just competetive

What should we do? The best thing is to quit complaining about people who give up. We all have our good and bad matches, that's part of the game. So the DC'ing teammate "ruined" our match, big deal. It wasn't our first bad match and it won't be the last either. Better luck next time.

The issue from the killers POV is that they all rage quit and i was left to play with bots, only bots. - thats not why i play dbd.

If they want out, they could just have come to me and i would have ended the game, but no - because its more fun to make the killer suffer with boring bots or give them a DC pen (i will take that every time im put in this scenario).

  • Starrseed
    Starrseed Member Posts: 1,774

what you do is you either sit through a match even if its a bad match or you accept the fact that you are done for the day and close the game. but just ragequitting and then even saying the other side is in fault cause they dare to play to win is not it.

sometimes a match sucks thats how it is and sometimes it feels like you are on a bad streak and every round is just unplayable but there are also more then enough rounds where you are on the winning side where you loop the killer like his a bot where you feel unstopable do you want the killer then to just nope out? if everyone only stays when he has the most fun no one gets to actually play

You are playing a killer that makes survivors on constant insta-down state and with full slowdown loadout.

Play something different than OP character with OP build and maybe surviviors will participate the match normally.

First of all, your comment is off topic.

They are not constant in an instant-down state, it takes 45 seconds IF they are working on an infected gen to enter that instant down state. (everything you need to know is here - https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/ )

And there are pools on the map to get rid of the infection.

Third, i already debunked that the build is that strong as some claimed (try reading the thread - its not that long)

Fourth, as I already mentioned in this thread (this is the second time you've missed what was said) - "If they want out, they could just have come to me and i would have ended the game"

    vol4r Member Posts: 279

It is constant, if you play against decent surviviors.
Surviviors cleancing gives plague the power, which is probably one of the most powerful in the game - so people would want to avoid it. Both cleansing and not gives the killer an easy mode.

I know how to play against the plague, I have a lot of experience in the game.

The build is strong, and it's full slowdown.

Why would they give you the free kill? If they want out = they DC just to give chance to other surviviors who stay in the match with a bot. I feel like you only see your side of a problem. Which makes the discussion difficult.

Coming back to the topic… To reduce amount of DC that happens lately, we need to tone down broken things within the game, which make people feel miserable to play - i mentioned them before.

Let's look at it from different side. Did you ever see whole team DC against "more fair" killers, that doesn't have stronger mechanic? let's say wraith, pig, trapper, freddy and some other killers. I never did, because people feel like they have a chance to win which makes PvP games good.

They think they are decent, but they really are not, if they play in a constant 1 hit mode. → that is just giving her MORE power than the actual power she gets from the wells.

Im starting to think that you dont know the perks as well as you say you do.

    ——————————————————————————————

No matter how you turn it, this build have 1 less perk at all times, and 2 less as soon as the Corrupt is gone. And good survivors would use the time from corrupt to find the ruin.

As soon as Corrupt is gone (it last until the first person enters the dying state or 120 secs) you have Thantophobia + Ruin OR Pop (you cant use pop as long as ruin is up).

Would you loose against a 2 perk plague? - then i would really say that thats on you.

And Pop only rewards good play right?

    ——————————————————————————————

Yes, i have seen 4 DCs a lot of times, im a former killer main, i played 6 hours+ killer almost every day.

    - I have even had groups where the whole swf dced one at a time the first time they got downed.

Fair killers? and you mention pig, freddy and trapper?? they are really in the bottom list of killers, but yes I have seen it a lot of times on different killers, both Nemi, Trapper, Legion, and especially on Doctor if you block a pallet with hes power, then people often DC. I would guess its 15% chance (25% if its in the start of the game) without having the exact numbers. And dont tell me hes OP, BHVR released stats not long ago where they showed he had the lowest kill rate.

    ——————————————————————————————

But this is really off topic, no matter what. DC pen should be gone if the killer only have bots left.
