Chaos Shuffle - Not very random...

I feel like I am consistently getting the same perks. With as many exist, is this normal? Did they only include certain ones?

    All perks are included.

    Just luck of the draw.

The only thing I saw relatively often is someone without any perks xD saw it at least 5 times by now

This happened to me too. I get Empathy, Poised, or Deliverance in so many builds.

I sure seem to get Scene Partner a lot, but that's OK because I heckin love Scene Partner I love treating every killer as if they are Ghostface!

Half true. There are probably all perks included, yes. But there are obviously several perks with much higher rates and some with near non-existent rates.

I mean, I highly doubt that.

It’s not impossible you get the same perk twice or even thrice in a row, y’know.

Its not about twice in a row. I have 10-15 perks that are omni-existent during the whole event time. On both sides. For example: i literally saw Pain once or twice during the event. Or as survivor i have deception every second game, and lithe once or twice at all. Its pretty obvious that there are some higher and some lower rates not an equal rate over all perks.

Especially if you ever played perk roulette by yourself, you know how "random" loadouts work out over a period. Thats not even a bit comparable.

DBD simply has a lot of players so the odds that a few players are experiencing situations where they seem to get the same perks over and over is highly likely.

    I get very different builds.

Sometimes I get a perk I already did but there is nothing weird about that.

If you want a more technical explanation, RNG is often not truly "random", there are many types of RNG algorithms which rely on using "RNG seeds" to determine the likelihood of something occurring or outright having definite results.

I dont know why kind of RNG is used by Chaos Shuffle, so I cant really speak too much on it outside of that.

I think a lot of people here are experiencing a confirmation bias. You make a theory. Any theory. And then anything that supports that theory, you take special note of and anything that is contrary to your theory is disregarded. Certain perks are going to stand out more than others naturally. For example, scene partner is a perk that makes you scream and reveals the killers aura and the condition to activate it is minimal. If you happen to have scene partner then there is almost no way that you won't remember having it. Alternatively, there are many passive perks that are completely forgettable and you could go the whole match without even knowing you had it.

Unless you have been literally taking screenshots of the post match perks and created an excel file and put all the data into it and played hundreds of games then you won't be able to see if there are in fact any actual trends. It absolutely is possible that BHVR messed up how random the perks are assigned and some are given a higher value than others. But anecdotal evidence is simply irrelevant. For instance, one player mentioned only seeing pain res twice. That seems reasonable to me given the number of perks available. But that player no doubt was actively looking for and paying particular attention to when they got that perk. But then the same player might notice they did get some perk they don't like 4 times. That is how a random distribution works. Each and every game gives and equal opportunity for each perk to be assigned. Even if you got the same perk two games in a row it would still have an equal chance of being assigned to you the following game. There will naturally be some weird clusters when looked at on an individual level. It's not until you have millions of data sets where you can start to see how equally the perks are being distributed. And no one player is playing millions of games and recording their data.

This argument feels like such a reach. I don't DISLIKE the perks I mentioned. I just kept seeing them. There was a day I got the basement ritual perk 4 times when I played less than 10 games. Does your confirmation bias argument hold up against statistics?

No Mither definitely had a buffed appearance rate. There was at least one of those in nearly every match.
