Is Event DBD actually more sweaty?
There's a general sentiment that both killers and survivors generally try way harder during an event. Whether that be bringing more powerful builds or playing in ways that maximise efficiency (tunneling, camping, genrushing, etc). The games just feel generally sweatier.
I'm curious, is this an actual trend? Or is it just cognitive bias? Is the fact that it's an event and should feel like a celebration just make those sweaty matches FEEL worse, or do people genuinely start sweating more for whatever reason?
I'd love to see some stats on this, are there differing trends in the things people bring during an event? Do winrates change significantly at all? I'm curious.
I'd like to hear all your thoughts on this as well, it's an interesting discussion.

I've always thought it was cognitive bias but this event im not sure. Getting way harder matches as killer and i played survivor twice and i got tunnelled by a vecna twice in a row. I think it could be a thing

Feels like it for sure.
I'm trying to chill with Stbfl + bloodwarden and the new pig fit but all I see is people that could fill a pool with the amount of sweat they bring to the table.

I think a lot of people have an unfair expectation that killers are going to start "farming", because it's an event that awards a ton of BP.

You can test this yourself during the event actually since there are separate queues now for regular and event DBD

I don't really expect anyone to start farming. I don't really like farming as a whole, I think it's boring. I just don't want people to play in an unpleasant way that ends the game super fast.
True! I might give that a go.

It wouldn't be a DBD event if players weren't tryharding like their lives depended on it. Been getting absolutely destroyed on both sides. Doesn't help that there are seperate queues for the events now, either.
I live in the UK where splitting the queues makes DBD's already less than perfect match making even worse. The game's also been sending me to far flug servers where I'm getting 400ms ping, so that's not great either.

Don't forget that Xbox players aren't even part of the normal queues. So that's thousands of players off crossplay.

The new pig fit is godly.

love the new pig cosmetic - had one earlier and she was up for boops!
👉🐽
Made me smile among the pain of other games - have had a few sweatier than a rugby sock games 🧦💦

Amanda is always there to calm your nerves. That's why we follow her footsteps at the church of pig.
May the BOOP be with you.

It sure is.

Getting tunnelled is standard in a vecna match tbh you can't judge it of that hes like the nemesis meme on steroids.
The first player who is chased gets the least gear so others can hide easier when vecnas aura/orb aura is revealed and long cooldown on mage hand doesn't matter if you only need to hit an injured survivor once.
A weak killer that always tunnels :(

Every survivor game I've done has been sweaty Billies that camp and tunnel other than 1 which was an Oni that was slugging.
Every killer match I have had has been against a premade. Every single player using iridescent addons (usually Brand New Parts or Syringe) with 3 gens done at the end of the 1st chase. I actually had a first chase end in ~25 seconds of the start of the match and all 3 gens popped before I started a 2nd chase. Tunneled the person out to get at least 1 kill and got called a toxic overweight fat boy who lives in his mother's basement and other insults. People are so nice in this game.

I don't notice any sweat in SoloQ - everything as usual … people doing no gens and giving up early in the game…
While killers got massive buffs with remoting hooks and pallets, enduring stuns and gaining the 30 % extra movement speed (I know that survivors gain it, too, but it's more an advantage for killers than for survivors) and you have nothing to counter it as survivor while killers just can avoid to get stunned by fake pallets.
