Potential excessive slugging solution
I'm sure this has happened to a lot of people. Personally speaking this has happened in 6 out of the last 7 games I've played. More than usual to be sure but it shouldn't happen at all.
Killer must get the 4k or else their heart will stop or something silly. So 2 are left, killer constantly slugs to assure no hatch. Survivors endure 3-5 minutes of peak DBD gameplay of doing absolutely nothing on the ground. Game doesn't punish the killer for doing this. Whether it should is another matter and not the topic for discussion here.
This is about merely trying to reduce the amount of time spent doing nothing.
The solution is:
Once the recovery bar is filled as far as it can go survivor can approach a hook and hook themselves offering themselves to the entity.
Doing this is an immediate sacrifice (so no using deliverance or something to get back into the game). Let's face it, in most scenarios where excessive slugging is an issue, the killer has already won. They just want to get the 4k by denying a mechanic that is specifically designed so players don't give up. Hatch isn't a victory condition for survivor. It's a consolation prize.
There may be problems, one of which is that bully squads 'could' use it to permanently sabotage a hook while making it impossible for a killer to pick up a survivor but this whole issue needs other solutions anyway. Potential answer to that is making such a sacrifice not destroy the hook.
It's not an easy way of 'giving up' either because you need full recovery bar and need to be near a hook.
I haven't seen this idea before and sure it's not ideal but it's better then spending loads of time doing nothing but hating the game while not actually tilting the balance meaningfully either way. Killer wins whether it's 3 or 4k. If adept is the concern it should be 'no survivor escapes through gates' instead of 4k. Bad game design shouldn't be used to make excuses to keep other bad game design.

It's only "excessive" when four survivors are downed and all of them are forced to bleed out
I mean let's be reasonable here, only "good" method to fix that situation is by finishing it up and calling it a 4k for killers
Also stop giving killers an incentive to 4k, there is so many of it and it's stupid
Hatch is never meant to be granted for survivors free either, if people seriously believes they must always get a hatch just do no mither

"Survivors now are instantly sacrificed if all of them are incapacitated and have no means of standing up"
There "excessive" slugging fixed.
AAnyways, stop badmouthing killers who want that 4k. Its jarring especially because survivors are constantly crying they dont escape.
TThey should be happy with doing their quarter of work on gens and just stop trying afterwards, thats what this argument sounds like. Your dog doesnt get euthanized if you dont do 2 gens. (Unlike sirvivors, this is sarcasm)

I dunno I just think it's well known how much misery slugging causes yet people still do it anyway. I think that's worth badmouthing people for. Perhaps I shouldn't have because it's getting off topic.
For what it's worth I play killer more but want to play survivor more but don't partly because of this. You probably won't believe that but whatever it's the truth.
In any case, your solution is 'better' then what we've got now but it doesn't solve the problem of 2 survivors remaining and killer can't find last so makes the other one do nothing for four-five minutes. Surely people must concede that's unacceptable and if they don't… well such opinions show a complete lack of empathy and seeing things from viewpoints aside their own.
With that logic you might as well take hatch away at this point because players who want to deny it can do so. That would still be preferable because killers then wouldn't slug for the 4k. Don't care about winning, losing, escaping or whatever, just hate wasting 4-5 minutes doing nothing and no Unbreakable does not help because it only works once and you have to basically use it when the other guy is on hook because they just find you and down you again. If the killer bleeds both out, Unbreakable is useless.

Why not? from the game balance perspective hatches don't need to exist, at all
It's sole purpose is to force killers to slug for 4k while making survivors a little happy in few occasion, it has no impact in any real gameplay value
And I'm not talking about unbreakable anywhere, did you know no mither is a perk called "no mither" and allows you to get up indefinite times, if everyone uses that no killers can slug for 4k ever again
