We need something to deal with Immersed survivors at the end of a match
After having a half a hour of my time wasted by a pair of degenerates on Blackwater Swamp, I think it's about high time there be a system in place to deal with people who have no intention of progressing the match and instead just want to hide in a corner somewhere, here's what I suggest
First, improve AFK crows, make them take less time to spawn, make t hem take longer to get rid of, make them trigger noise notifications as soon as one crow spawns, and remove the ability to keep them at bay by constantly swapping lockers and repeatedly dropping/picking up a item
Second, if a killer isn't in chase for 5 minutes, trigger killer instinct on the nearest survivor every 5 seconds
I don't know if these systems would be abusable by quite frankly I don't really care, I just want something in place that makes dealing with survivors who want to waste everyone's time as much as possible outside of reporting
Also, rework Blackwater Swamp into something that doesn't resemble a flaming dumpster fire, please and thank you, I hate this realm and not being able to find survivors because of its colour pallet and the dense foliage is one of many reasons why

I personally like these ideas. I, too get sick of people doing this. I was a survivor in one match and had 2 teammates that kept running out of bounts on Red Garden. They took the match hostage until it closed itself.

icl if the killer tunnels or camps i will make my mission to not be found and to waste as much of their time as they did mine. i’m just petty like that.
but anyways the killer instinct suggestion is not awful but would be rewarding the killer for not being able to find anyone which kind of defeats the purpose of the game (scary hide and seek- as described by one of the devs a few years ago) and if someone is swapping lockers etc they’re not afk so there’s no reason for them to spawn crows.
swamp needs reworked sooo bad, if they do it justice who knows.
i don’t really think there’s anything they can do if im being completely honest
5 -
They just need to remove the afk bird status to not be reset when putting an item on the ground and picking back up again. It's pointless and doesn't add anything to the game and allows survivors to hold the game hostage
5 -
So instead of providing survivors with some kind of come back mechanic, you want to punish those who want to survive. And then you will create a thread about "why are all soloQ survivors giving up 1st hook all of a sudden???" or "why does my killer queue take so long???
6 -
it's not really a comeback mechanic when they're hiding in some corner dropping and picking up an item with distortion
7 -
That's exactly because there are NO comeback mechanics in this game, so 2v1 is a lost game, and there is nothing left for each survivor to do but to wait the other one to die and get the hatch.
6 -
Sure, then give basekit Unbreakable to all survivors
2 -
Okay then just sacrifice them at that point, much better right
Because we have no comeback mechanics and killer managed to make you guys lose 100%, all lost survivors deserves to leave the match immediately in those situation, let the entity consume them so killer gets the well deserved win and survivors don't have to waste time in already done matches
7 -
There doesn’t need to be a comeback mechanic. It’s Dead by Daylight not survivors escape for free by daylight💀
5 -
Sure, give me old Mori.
3 -
Just make it so people automatically get crows when they don't progress the game for a set amount of time and cannot get rid of them until they do, not only does this allow easier reports for players holding the game hostage it also takes away the responsibility of the other side to provide additional video information about that Behaviour...
4 -
I guess unless you do it that long for it to become a bannable offense it is fine but if you do that then that makes you way worse than the guy tunneling and camping...
0 -
As if that will do much when you can just walk around a bit to prevent that...
0 -
If you hide for 15 min and don't progress the game that is a bannable or at least reportable offense, I don't see a reason not to do something about such Behaviour? There is a big difference between that and just trying to survive...
4 -
What exactly would such a comeback mechanic look like? Increased Gen speed? There are just points where the game should be over and survivors should be able to give up, they need to go more in the direction of winning or loosing as a team, instead of rewarding selfish plays by giving people a comeback mechanic for failing to protect their teammates...
2 -
That's a really mature thing to do and surely, it helps driving the community to a better place
2 -
A couple of times I've made the following suggestion: After 5 minutes of no chase, put killer instinct on all of the remaining survivors, until either a chase starts, or a survivor loses a health state by the killer.
1 -
it’s a game
0 -
it’s literally just an eye for an eye but go off
0 -
Exactly, it's a game. So tell me where is the entertaining bit of not playing it and just waste the time of everyone, including yours, to prove a point to a random that you'll probably never ever talk to or meet.
Grow up.

I mean both sides are kind of fair... One guy feels mistreated, as he feels like he did not get to play the game because the other side played in an unfun way and now the same thing happens to the other side... I would almost call it Karma…ofc it is not the most mature thing to do, but then again it is a video game, you can be as immature as you want to, exactly because you never meet the other guy again, there is not punishment for that.
The thing is both sides can do whatever they want within the rules of the game, and as long as that's the case all is fine, so if he wants to hide for an hour, progressing gens a bit every 15 min so it is not reportable then that is completely fine... Quite honestly the other side cannot really complain, they started off by playing unfun to reach their goal and now the opposing side does the same... Not saying it is the mort healthy thing for the game, but it is understandable.
2 -
Except for the fact that, this is actually reportable
0 -
Like I said before, fully depends of the duration of hiding... It has not been clear yet if it was 10 min less or more... I think the line is 15 min of not progressing the game? Which is fairly easy to avoid..
0 -
So you would rather waste 1 hour of your time because the killer played ruthlessly instead of just move on with your life ?
You people have too much tome on your hands i guess.
1 -
Not really? I m just arguing that both positions are valid... I don't even take the time to sit around when somebody decides to bm me while bleeding out, I just tab out and do something else in the mean time, same when the team decides to give up, I deem my time too precious for that... However what I argued about was that one side is not worse than the other... Remember chess merchant when she held the game hostage for an hour? Kind of similar, some people deemed that a good time investment, and if it was only to prove how stupid that thing was... Sidenote: Just like everything else about the stupid skull merchant character was and still ist...

I didnt play from knight release to chucky so i wasn't around for that. But defending gens is actually playing the game
Hiding in a corner just to waste time, isn't.
Shocking the last survivor with doctor for an hour is the same in my book. I don't get why people get so mad that they need to actually waste so much time doing debiliting things just to prove a point.

Sure, make survivors die in 1 hook
0 -
Balanced on similar level as basekit unbreakable, so definitely fine.
2 -
Why not, so intense
0 -
I can think of many things that make the game toxic
1. Non-progression late games (hide and seek 0 gen progression)
2. Slugging to death
3. Tunneling and proxy facecamping
4. Bully Squads
ALL of these game mechanics either intended or not make the game not fun for some party in the situation and all deserve some redress in combatting it.
BHVR has a toxic problem created by Killer and survivor bad behavior and to make the game expand need to address each element I mentioned.0 -
The devs literally said one time recently that it wasnt reportable when a tombstone myers and a survivor in locker waiting until the server closed is not bannable. When both sides are being petty that prolongs the game, i think the devs just lets it go and dont do anything.
In fact, i personally believe the devs have not banned anyone over stalling a match anymore ever since they lowered the match time to an hour like almost 2 years ago when it was much longer. They will only ban ppl that intentionally grief and hold a person hostage when the other side has no means to progress the match ex: bodyblocking, unaccessable area that the other side cant get to them, the locker exploits etc

If it bothers you that much, why not run Whispers or Crows? Pretty sure there is no counter to Whispers.

old mori was so busted but was a fair balance with the old perks gen speed etc
0 -
It was more of a counter to old key…

Yeah but you actually need to interact with something like a gen, chest or totem when moving around to remove the crows. Just moving around alone will still trigger afk crows until you start doing an action. Dropping an item and picking it up removes the crows within like 5 seconds so people can just crouch walk around edges of map reseting the crow afk status at will using items, which is what most of these people do when holding the game hostage. It's almost impossible to find them if you don't have a perk like Whispers.

It's the same problem as 4k slugging to a bleed-out.
It's called holding the game hostage, and it's reportable (not that that does anything worthwhile). If there's more than one survivor left and neither is trying to win, it's not simply playing the game as intended. The goal is escape, not making the killer DC from boredom, or waiting for the other person to get killed first.1 -
Slugging for the 4k ends the match in 5 minutes
Hiding in a corner and using a item to avoid AFK crows can force a match to go on until the server shuts the match downThey are not the same thing
4 -
hiding the entire match should get you perma ban. Change my mind
1 -
It's still holding the game hostage, regardless of length of time. Literally nothing else can get done and everyone has to wait to bleed out.
1 -
Slugging has been officially stated not to be a hostage situation, immersive survivors are stated to be hostage situation
Enough said
2 -
Clearly it's not enough said. Obviously it could use a conversation.
0 -
If the survivor does not do anything meaningful in 3 minutes, start giving them crow. They need to do 20% of a generator, heal another survivor, or cleanse a totem.
1 -
There doesn't need to be much comeback mechanic in a game where matches last 10 minutes on average. Hatch + Exit Gates as a comeback is already sufficient. Even if they added more comeback mechanics, it wouldn't make a difference. If survivors were getting stomped so hard that they all died at 4-5 gens, there's no point of keeping the game going with comebacks because they would have just kept getting stomped.
0 -
Many survivors do this simply out of spite. Meaning even if there is a comeback mechanic, they will still hide to simply waste the killers time because they are salty. I see your intention but it still allows them to take the game hostage
0 -
I think the killer instinct (or unavoidable aura reading) if the killer hasn't had a chase for a while is the way to go. Make it 10 minutes to prevent any possibility of abuse, and problem solved.
0 -
Killer Instinct should be Survivor action based, not Killer. If a Survivor is progressing gens and successfully out-stealthing the Killer, that is fine. It only is when they don't touch gens that it becomes a problem. 5 mins of no touching gens would be fine (as long as they also aren't completing actions like healing/unhooking).

The conversation has been had. Slugging is not taking the game hostage because it is literally killing the survivors (even if not in the fastest and optimal way possible), and "immersive survivors" are literally refusing to advance the game by not doing the main objective for up to an hour.
Which is funny, because when the server closes it counts as if they have been slugged AFAIK. So, they are losing their time just to grant the killer a 4K anyway.
