This game will always be survivor sided
16 perks vs 4 perks. 16 hook stages vs only completing 5 gens. Flashlights for saves and toolboxes for extra gen progress. No wonder some of these killers tunnel. It's completely understandable given the state of the game.

You are comparing numbers from two completely different roles that function in two completely different ways. It's an asymmetrical game, both sides are meant to be different and diverse, thus their goals and objectives are different.

I don't even really consider it tunneling when I kill survivors early on. I'm playing a game to win, just like survivors are playing to win also. I paid for the game the same as everyone else and I'm going to play(and kill early, and whenever possible) the way I want to.
Now that's not to say that I won't have fun and let survivors go occasionally if I'm enjoying messing around with them and I can tell they're being friendly, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm playing to win and improve at the game with the killers I've purchased.
I'm still relatively new to the game with about ~150 hours currently and I've seen nothing on the forums but killers complaining about survivors and survivors complaining about killers. It's absurd almost that survivors expect the killers to not…play the game the same way they're doing it.
4 -
And dont forget, its 40% escape rate. With 4 survivors, means they have 160% win rate, while killers have only 60%.
45 -
Them damn survivors rascals always up to something a
7 -
You're halfway to learning the definition of asymmetrical.
23 -
That made me cackle, thank you!
20 -
it's 30 % curently with the 3 top killers lmfao never ben this low in dbd history vecna at 70 killrate twin at 66% blight just behind by 1% less last time i've check it def not 40% with now top killers back in the day had around 60 ish now with power creep plus huges buffs it aint it anymore lol
5 -
I wasnt the one who made it up. A killer actually brought that into win rate argument..
11 -
N-no. No way. Really?
8 -
I wonder if every player that uses the 'it's a 4v1' idea to prove the game is survivor sided realises that if Bhvr ever remove even one survivor for the team (3v1 base), Killers would have like 95% winrate.
15 -
Survivors also have FOUR TIMES as many buttons to push. We need a perk that removes buttons for survivors to even things out.
5 -
i really gotta finish this video i've been working on it for like a year
1 -
Something something bhvr would never do that because they cater to only the cash cow survivors because they make the most money by selling cosmetics cause there’s four of them and only one killer or something /s
2 -
No wonder you're struggling if you're hooking each survivor 4 times
12 -
Yes, that's totally because they cater to the cash cow survivors and not because it would massively sway the game in favour of the killer.

12 hook states, not 16
8 -
This is the same reason I give to trying to accomplish my self unhook achievement off of a first hook. I paid a lot of money, if I want to exit early, I should be able to. The mechanics of the game allow it, my check didn't bounce. I just wish they had a bleed out fast option.

16 hook stages???? no wonder you think the game is survivor sided, you've been making the game harder for yourself this entire time.
11 -
Literally definition of skill issue. I 2hook every survivor before going for the kill and get 4k 7/10 games easily. I literally only use crows and scratch marks for finding as I listen to audio books while playing Dbd. Really you just need good eye sight and the ability to follow characters in the dark to play this game well. You would be surprised how many killers walk right past survivors while they are just crouching next to a hook in the open..
2 -
It's just math.
16 hook states x 40% escape rate x 4 (SWF) = 2560% escape rate.
It takes at least 10 seconds to hook a survivor and 45 seconds minimum PER HIT x 4 (SWF) x 16 hooks / 60 minutes = 30 hours to play for 16 hooks against a top MMR SWF.
The problem? The average MMR day/night cycle is 24 hours. 24-30 x 4 (SWF) = -24 hours. Because they're on comms, they're a day ahead of killers. It's math.
18 -
Man I've gotta go back to school to learn Killer Math 101. I'm confused as hell.
7 -
I hate how a SWF know Im going to play DBD at 21:06 tomorrow as Trapper with Plaything and Pentimento so they would log in at 21:05 using Map items with Boon to counter. One of them even use Plot twist with Nomither to deny my Corrupted intervention.
6 -
Lol, 2560% escape rate, i laugh thinking of a game which 4 survivors enter the trial and like 50 survivors escape.🤣
5 -
That's the power of top MMR comms
6 -
This just proves we need to nerf distortion tbh
4 -
I misread this as 'nerf general discussions' and I didn't even think that an unreasonable take.
1 -
A brown toolbox has 16 charges and Nurse's power only has 2 tokens so really if you think about it by the numbers Nurse is really underpowered.
12 -
This thread was fun.
2 -
Are these your Freddy games?
1 -
It will be 4 man SWF sided

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I do think 4 minutes for being slugged is pretty rough tbh.
0 -
Yes, lets make the game fair
Add 10 generators total, need to repair 8 of them
Make all survivors die in 1 hook

Killer Math is a lot like Paper Towel Math! 2 rolls = 5, 4 rolls = 7, and 8 rolls = 20!
4 -
I haven't played in awhile, but isn't it only 12 hook stages (3 each survivor)?
1 -
killers can literally tunnel 1 survivor out at the start of the game then if they can down just a single other survivor they are almost guaranteed a draw if they don't make dumb mistakes. it's a lot more difficult for survivors to force a draw.
against many survivor groups however this strategy is so successful it usually results in a 3-4k.
3 -
someone didn't get the joke. He's joking that all survivor run decisive strike so you 4 extra hook states. I don't think i have ever hit all 4 decisive strikes. The highest i have hit while playing normally is 3. 15 hook-state is still a lot.

Tunneling is chasing the same person over and over until they die. Killing "early" isn't the issue, it's singling people out, not giving any chance to heal or play at all. It's just a completely detrimental play style, and everyone (barring new players, which has happened in EGC and it was a nice discourse) knows it's gross. People who defend actual tunneling know they're being sketchy, they just dgaf.
7 -
Read that as "power top MMR" and, like, where's the lie?
1 -
You must be new. Game has never been more killer sided than it is now.
7 -
I mean, the game is sort of unbalanced, so depending on survivor skill+ killer skill+ choice of killer+ map + perks+ items brought+ random luck, its hard to say (for me) that the game is skewed towards one side or the other. Kinda a roll of the dice whenever a new game begins whether or not either side has more advantage then the other

Bad math is bad.
40% escape rate means survivors average 40 wins per 100 attempts (25 matches) while killers get a 60% kill rate, so they'll average 60 kills in 25 matches, or 2.4 kills a match. 2 kills is a draw, 3 is a win, so in theory there is a 40% chance of a killer to win any given match.
Also, including the mess of afk and 8 hook killers, a 60% kill rate translates closer to 70-80%.
There's a reason I don't use toxic tactics, and often keep my music running as killer... it's so easy it's almost boring most matches.
2 -
Kill rate isn't win rate, keep in mind that hatch kills don't count and that there a lot of win spreads affecting the kill rate without explicitly contributing to the win rate despite adding to the escape rate. If you count 2 kills as a tie, then a 1k is adding a number to the kill rate despite the killer not winning, and dividing everything neatly by four doesn't work when the fourth survivor only sometimes counts towards escape and kill rates.
These variables don't convert that simply.
1 -
Everyone aware that the math is bad.
2 -
And I get that, but if BHVR doesn't think it's a bannable/reportable offense - why do you and everyone else? It's part of the game.
0 -
killers get a 60% kill rate, so they'll average 60 kills in 25 matches, or 2.4 kills a match. 2 kills is a draw, 3 is a win, so in theory there is a 40% chance of a killer to win any given match.
It's my nemesis again!
4 -
She's new, guys.

I remember when DBD was survivor-sided.
