The new perk Specialist got me thinking about an older perk: Fast Track.

The new perk Specialist allows you to gain tokens by searching chests and then lets you convert those tokens into a permanent charge reduction on generators.

This got me thinking, could Fast Track benefit from the same treatment of reducing the required charges instead of adding progress? Generator perks are often difficult to buff, but Fast Track isn't too useful and this might make it a little stronger without directly increasing the generator timesave it gives you up front. A permanent reduction to required charges is stronger than just adding progress since it makes regression effects slightly weaker later on (since a percentage of total progress is based on a lower value than normal) and that reduction in required charges can't be undone.

    Interesting change.

    Almost nobody uses Yun-Jin's perks, but this change might make Fast Track more appealing towards players. If this got implemented, I'd also like the amount of tokens per hook increased to 4.

    Is actually an interesting discussion point, because on paper fast track saves potentially 27s throughout, on average maybe 15-18s, or as much time as a commodius toolbox with full charge addons (72.667s to repair a gen or 17.333s saved).

    The problems of course are you can't guarantee you're gonna get the 18+ charges... and even if you do you aren't in control of when you get it either.

    Making this effectively like 2 BNPs makes those downsides worth considering 🤔

    i'd like to see a different change. maybe something like it regenerates tokens every 30 seconds. you gain 1 charge. don't think this perk will ever be used more then other gen progression options.
