Survivors holding the game hostage. Solution?
I am seeing time and time again, the last two survivors, holding the killer hostage in a match because they don't want to be found/killed. Whether there's 5/4/3/2/1 gens left, the last two survivors are instead playing hide and seek and waiting for the other to be found so that they have the chance to find hatch. What is the point of this? Not only are you holding the killer hostage (because nothing is getting done) but you are also forcing the killer to either dc, or wait out the hour timer for the match to end automatically. Holding the game hostage IS against the rules, and this is holding the game hostage, whether or not it is for the reason for a chance to escape.
A possible solution for this? Well, in order for the game to continue and not be brought to a stand still because the survivors don't want to play the game until they have the chance to escape, let's bring a sense of urgency to end the game:
With two survivors left in the match, if a generator is not worked on at least 10% within two minutes, the hatch opens up. Along with the hatch opening up, endgame countdown starts. But also, only 1 survivor is allowed to leave through hatch. This allows the game to continue if nothing is getting done and allows for the killer to get another kill or 2. If the countdown goes to 0, the hatch closes, survivors auras are revealed, and the game goes back to normal.
This would punish NO ONE but the survivors who are too stubborn to die and are willing to hold the match out until the automatic timer ends the game. Because at the point where there is only 2 survivors and 5/4 generators left, no one is going to be doing generators, there is no incentive for that. All the survivors have the incentive to do, is wait for the other to die, and get hatch. Is that really fun for either side?

I've seen this happen with three survivors left.
It's maddening. Something needs to be done, this has been a problem for years and it feels like it's gotten worse. Especially since I see some survivors play this way from the very start of the match. The game doesn't punish people who don't participate, even though it's designed so that the entire game falls apart if survivors don't attempt the objective.

Exactly! I have seen 2 survivors have a loadout that basically makes them unfindable/invisible the entire game and ALSO bring the Mother's Dwelling map offering, with the INTENTION to hide the entire game, because that's what they did. The killer had to DC once they figured out what the survivors were doing because there was essentially no way to find the survivors. Did the survivors say something in end game chat? "gg ez" of course.
Edit: Basically same thing happened on Temple of Purgation with the 2 hiders relying on the other 2 teammates actually playing the game

Dont reward the bad behavior!!!!!!!
How is changing "wait for th other idiot to die" to "wait 2 minutes" any better? All it does is remove the possibility of delaying the hatch spawn with slugging. (If this is a thinly veiled anti slugging build, you couldve just said so).

infinite aura reading if you don’t do anything for a certain amount of time

It should be base kit that if a chase hasn't started for 4 minutes, the effect of the 'Whispers' perk is granted until a chase starts.

This is not much different than people slugging for the 4k when they don’t know where the other survivor is. People want a chance to survivor and killers want their kills. Your solution could work if the gate time also speeds up so there’s a realistic chance for both people to escape through the gate. Otherwise a hatch offering becomes to strong on the killer side.

I think it is extremely different. Because if slugging was happening, the game is continuing and no one is being held hostage in the game. The survivor being slugged would eventually bleed out and the hatch opens for the other survivor to find or for the killer to find.
What I am suggesting is for when the game is at a complete stand still and there is no way for the killer to continue the game because the survivors refuse to do gens/die. Wanting a chance to survive is fine obviously, but if there is no way for the game to end because either survivor won't just die, then I just think there has to be something implemented so no one is stuck in the match.
And to maybe add on to my suggestion: When the hatch opens, it does not spawn based off of a hatch offering, so its pretty fair game for anyone to find it. And if the killer finds and closes the hatch, the survivors auras are revealed and the game can continue.
I just would love if survivors stopped hiding in the game and accepted death to get everyone into the next match. Like, it's okay to die in a game 😅
