Hook respawn is a blessing, why complain?

Hooks now respawning after someone dies is amazing, now I'm not forced to bleed someone out if theres no hooks. It ended up helping me against both a sabo squad and two boil over map abusers. But ofc theres people complaining about it and I really don't see why, killers have been nerfed a lot being limited to gen damage and getting the best slowdown perks nerfed (Pop got nerfed to below what it originally got buffed from) and now since theres a mechanic that helps killers a bit it immediately gets complained about and I really don't see why.

Edit: I don't mean just complaints on forums I see lots of complaints on videos and stuff about it on other sites/apps

I think it is one of those things where people are taking it way to heart when its really not going to change as much as they think.

I am happy about this change: It is now impossible that someone holds you for four minute hostage because the survivor is impossible to hook (and this ones runs back to the deadzone).

I guess, some players like to complain. You will always have these type of people who don't begrudge the other side the slightest thing. I would even go so far as some of them not complain about this change directly, but rather that it wasn't what they would have liked to see. For example: Players complain about slugging and saw this change and were like "Why did they get this QoL change, this won't change anything. This is not fair." or something like this. They may be upset about this change but it's not what they actually mean. I hope you understand what I mean, it is a bit complex to explain. They may also feel disadvantaged as a result. I remember there was a patch in which many perks from the one side got nerfed (or buffed) and the other side was complaining about it. However, next patch they got this treatment. This is btw. no offense or anything. It is just my explanation and this can happen on both sides, in every game, and even irl.

That's because a lot of people don't use threads, I've seen tons of complaints on videos about the changes in the update

For me, the hook respawn is unnecessary. If one hook is gone, there is another hook just right next door. I’m interested in where the dead zones could’ve appeared though, because the only dead zones I’ve ever experienced were on maps that have been since reworked (fixed). As killer, I rarely struggled to get someone to a hook. As survivor, wiggling felt a little useful before (rarely ever wiggled out though) and I was hardly ever bled out. Even if I did go down in a ‘hookless’ area, the furthest hook was still nearby. Please don’t attack me, this is just what I’ve experienced.

I'm trying hard not to judge until it's in action, but if people want to slug, they're gonna slug regardless of dead zones. I don't expect much of a difference in slugging numbers, but I hope the people making this point are right.

Now, tell me it'll remedy tunneling off hook and I'm all ears.

It’s funny that I commented on this yesterday, I was slugged until bled out as the last survivor a few hours after posting. Literally right between 3 hooks but of course I won’t get picked up because I had approximately 30% wiggle progress.

I don‘t like that it‘s removed as survivor and as killer I don‘t care.

I’m also generally very confused about it, at most its complained about as its a buff to scourge hooks since now they can come back, however thats such a small change compared to not having survivors run to the corner of the map where no hooks are remaining so I can’t hook them

Do scourge hooks respawn? I haven't tested this yet or even thought of it till now..

A couple of days before the patch, I had a game where the killer had to bring me to a hook that was far from them because the closest hook was broken. I managed to escape and extend the chase for longer, my teammates managed to complete the last gen. I died but they escaped

If there was a hook there, I would have died, my teammates would not have the time to finish the last gen and the killer would potentially slug them for the 4k

Thats my biggest issue with hooks respawning. It's not about ending slugging because there is not hook around. I much rather bleed out for 4 minutes than losing my little skill expression that can only save like 1 game out of 50. I'll take it.

I remind myself that Sabo got crazy buffs so at the very least there was an exchange and not just a flat buff for killer

In the past I sometimes would slug the last two survivors, when they went down in deadzones and try to coax them to crawl towards a hook or bleed out. A surprisingly large number opted to crawl into a comp corner, just to spite me and waste everyone 4mins.

Well, I had at least three games yesterday, where I was already on the verge to do so, but when I looked around, the nearest hook had respawned. This is such a beautiful mechanic. I understand that there was an element of strategy towards hooking in the past, but sometimes it was just unfeasable to walk out to the far corners of the map, just to preserve the middle hooks, and I for one am more then willingly to openly embrace the new system and rather hook then slug.
