Apparently its a strategy.....
As we all know things are (once again) broken since the last update in DBD. Especially that super cool gen bug that turns clear wins into clear losses is super fun.
Now to my point: I faced multiple SWF groups today that tried and sometimes managed to trigger that bug on purpose to turn their clear losses into an insta win with 3 gens remaining. After that I got the 2 remaining survs teabagging me at the exit gate, writing ez like 10 times in chat and admitting that they know this bug exists and therefor their 2 colleagues dced because it is a "survivor strategy". I find this entire interaction annoying to put it gently.
Also am I the only one that thinks at this point the entire game should just be killswitched for like a week so the devs can iron out the worst issues and maybe fix some code so it doesnt break more and more with each new update. I mean I really like that the devs are communicating about these issues and that they are working on fixing stuff but gamebreaking bugs like these should imo at most be in the game for like 1-2 days until they are fixed and not 1- multiple weeks until the next hotfix arrives.

I mean they don't really need to kill switch the game if you don't like the bugs you can personally take a break but for some people this game is their entire lively hood so even if broken and buggy they still gotta play it so shutting it down all together is never really an option.

I still do not understand how a bug like this even happens without anybody noticing before releasing the update, you'd think if they're charging 10$+ for skins at least the game would be decent quality and polished, but no. Sadly it seems that this game is following the Apex Legends route, milk money from cosmetics while neglecting the gameplay.

Just don't play Killer for now. Or play another game altogether. That is working for me. There is a reason wait times for Survivor matches is going up and why Survivor is rarely getting offered bonus points to que up. Players are aware of the bug and simply are taking a pass. The more take a pass the faster they will fix it. This game doesn't work if there aren't enough Killers.

If you have a video record of that you could've still report it as bug abuse
3 -
Just don't play until it is fixed. That seems to be the easiest solution at this time.
The hold up is probably because they need to schedule their updates with the various platforms, I don't think it's as easy as flipping a switch.

Big surprise, people will abuse bugs.
We saw it with Merciless Storm for like two months.
We saw it with Wake Up.
We saw it with Infinite Mend.
Normal DBD stuff

"I still do not understand how a bug like this even happens without anybody noticing before releasing the update,"
Because it is unreasonable to test everything. Or would you have had the idea to test if in a regular game if someone dies and then leaves the Endscreen, if the Gen Count then gets bugged? Most likely not.
6 -
That's literally every soloq games, not testing that situation seems rather stupid
3 -
@Nazzzak is correct here, they can't put out updates that fast. Years back they streamlined things and put out their patches for all platforms all at the same time. To accomplish that they have send it to Nintendo and Sony and Microsoft who each separately have to certify the update, which takes 3-5 days usually. And it is not free to do so either.

I don't think you could possibly submit it as bug abuse.
Unless they add text to the launch screen stating "LEAVING SPECTATOR MODE AND SPENDING BLOODPOINTS AFTER A MATCH WILL RESULT IN A BAN" it wouldn't even be possible to make people know there's an issue. And this is broken whether it's groups or not, do you expect every solo queue player that gets tunneled out to spectate thte remaining 10 minutes of a match?
It's beyond silly to think you could prove anyone was abusing it rather than doing the exact expected action to take after your game has ended.

There is a difference in intentionally doing it and not, this is quite likely they are abusing it if they are giving up on hook, was SWF, and also teabags at the gate,
2 -
I have a feeling you've never played Dead By Daylight before if you don't think that giving up on hook, being in a SWF(at the very least a duo), and teabagging at the gate aren't in half the games you play.

Except all that at once will not usually happens

If you start testing for this, you can test so many other things. As I said, it is unreasonable.

I still do not understand how a bug like this even happens without anybody noticing before releasing the update
Who knows?
Remember Twins' release? That update basically broke the entire game and it was still approved and released to live servers.

Purposely triggering a bug to succeed is great for the short term but generally the folks who put too much effort in trying trigger it every game says something about their skill level. Report the bug, keep on it and when it gets fixed people will scramble to find the next exploit. It is up to you to choose to keep playing or not, and that is valid if you decide to take a break.

I just don't understand how a bug like this goes through
tons of other bugs has put me off from playing currently ill wait' till the game is in a better state not worth the frustration get enough of that from terrible team mates lol.

I just wouldn't play the game until this gets fixed. I tried to push through it, but it's really annoying getting all these draws, moreso than usual.

Yeah. Just had that one kind of game. One of the survivors "sacrificed" themselves. It was clear at the get go. Killed her and went to hiding for the rest of the match. Not gonna play by their rules

Bleed them out

It's funny, I said in a previous post that I heard things like this was happening and the response I got was "nonsense" and refusal to acknowledge it out of blind support for team survivors. If those people are reading...hate to say it...nah who am I kidding, I love to say it.... Told you so. I played a few games last night to test the waters and indeed a did have a match where they intentionally tried to trigger the bug. (I slugged the remaining survivors and watched them bleed out for their efforts) Obviously I got bashed to hell and back post game lobby but they bring it on themselves lol

Just don't play Killer.

You have to look at this from BHVR's perspective. Bugs in the game, even game-breaking ones, don't seem to do anything to impact player count. If large numbers of players just stopped playing, bugs would get fixed a lot more quickly. But when the only consequence of serious bugs is a lot of forum complaining, then they can afford to take their time to fix them.

Just don't play the game rn the gen bug is game breaking and I refuse to play killer until they fix it

Sometimes bugs manifest upon live

If they are intentionally abusing it, report them. And report them for cheating.
2 -
Just do like many others: either play knowing you'll lose unfairly, or don't play until it is fixed.
It's likely to be fixed in about 36 hours anyway.
They won't do anything about that.
1 -
Regardless on how avoidable the bug is, if they are bragging about using it then there is nothing stopping you from reporting them. Exploiting bugs is a bankable offense.
I am only stating this once though, do not report random survivors for this when it happens. Only report the ones that you show evidence via chat screenshots of them bragging about abusing it.

I am currently taking a break from the game, since it is too borken to play right now and matches don't seem quite fair.
1 -
"Borken" happens when "Broken" and "borked" have a child
0 -
I've been reporting them for cheating, 3 gens done by 2 survivors is not possible without cheating.

Some people are calling it a tunnelling punisher and are asking for it to be added for real, but it isnt a tunnelling punishment. Its a catchup mechanic ( im not entirely convinced its not a test thats accidently made it to live ) because it doesnt punish a tunneller. It punishes getting kills, even if you spread them.
