BHVR needs to clarify if 2v8 is becoming permanent asap
I don't want to get my hopes up, because if it disappears for no reason in 2 weeks I may just quit the game because I can't go back to the normal game mode after this. The playerbase wants to hear some communication from the devs about what is the plan, don't leave us in the dark.

Didn't BHVR already tell us how they're going to do this?
It'll go away at the end of the time, then they'll work on it to improve things + presumably add more killers, and it'll come back at a later date. They said they're going to iterate on it and that this is just the first version, iirc.

I'd be very upset if they take it away in 2 weeks. There's no reason to disable it at all, just leave it permanently. If they want to update it they can do that while leaving it active in the meantime.

It was never intended to stay forever. They were quite clear about this in just about all their communication regarding the mode.

The problem with keeping it is the ques of both modes will suffer if the game mode remains for an extended period of time. DBD does not have the player base to support two permanent game modes, and the fact that the game is asymmetrical just adds to that problem

Seeing how popular this mode is, it would be one of the dumbest business decisions of all time to not make this mode permanent. The game is breaking records on steam.

I would even say 2v8 is the superior version of the game and much more fun as survivor. 1v4 feels like an oudated alpha version in comparison.

I’d hazard a guess to say that the playercount skyrocketed partially because of it being time-limited.
Likewise, keeping it forever will mean the novelty will wear off sooner than later. Killer queue times might go even higher than they already are.

Rushing the decision would not be wise. If they announced it was permanent, and then player counts took a huge drop over the next week, they'd be stuck in a bad position. They should see a the player base reacts over the remainder of the run time.

They also made it clear that there is no definitive answer right now as to whether or not it will become a permanent, as this version of 2v8 is just the first iteration, where they will continue to refine and work on it the mode based on the feedback from previous iterations for when they bring it back next time.
It's only once the mode has been iterated on enough that the big discussion on whether or not the mode will become permanent or semi-permanent will begins for them.

And how long will that take to make the decision? A few weeks, months, a year? Me and many many other players don't want to wait that long. The mode is a massive success and very popular. It shouldn't be taken away from us for no reason in 2 weeks.

There is absolutely no reason to keep it around after the time expires. It gets old playing against the same killers every match. How many people do you realistically think will still be playing this when the second week is up? I want my BP incentive in back in 4v1 as well as some killer variety. Huntress every single match is not it.

You're better off asking bhvr themselves about that as only they would truly know, since the only real information we have is only the segment from the livestream about the topic.
