2vs8 que times = how about 2vs6?

But all Survivors have 4 health states and nobody can be slugged (unbreakable base kit) and there is 6 gens instead of 8?

Sounds like that would solve killer queue times… because no killer would play it.

I don't know, it seems hard to solve. They will just need to keep improving it with each release if they really want to make it permanent.

I can only think of reducing survivors to 6, reducing the amount of gens in the map to 10, having to finish 7, while getting rid of the basekit add-ons for killers but making it necessary to hook survivors.

The teleporting hooks should remain, to prevent camping.

It won't shorten queues and here is why. The actual number of people who want to play killer in 2v8 is higher than the amount playing it, because the long queues are motivating them to queue as survivor instead. If you reduce the amount of survivors per game so killer queues are shorter, it will just increase the number of people trying to queue as killer until it reaches the threshold equilibrium of queue time again.

That's why this mode per se has no solution other than constantly trying new conditions until both survivor and killer have a somewhat fair, enjoyable experience. If we want 2v8 to be permanent, that is.

It wouldn't change the fundamental issue: there is nothing new or interesting for survivors. Whether you're playing with 3, 5 or 7 teammates, it is literally the same (classes are just pre-selected perks). This is probably one of the main problems that needs to be addressed if the devs ever want to reduce the imbalance between killer and survivor queues in 2v8 mode.

it very common to have two to three survivors cage in the 2 v 8. In a 2 v6 that would likely be the beginning of the end...just endless unhooking and resetting. I do agree that the mode should go down to a 2 v6 simply for player count sake. It will be quite easy to snowball with a 2v6 so the balance will need to be adjusted of course.

Survivors do get the benefit of not dealing with 3genning, camping, and tunneling being harder but that don't equal fun. It just make the mode more casual which is good. The problem is the mode don't offer anything interesting for survivors like you said. chaos shuffle allow everyone to roll the dice and test new things. 2 v 8 offer getting chase by two killer which is only enticing to killers mainly. The classes are cool but survivors need new items. Something different from the norm

Too convoluted for seemingly no gain

I’ve seen killers tunnel and try to proxy camp. They’re definitely starting to bring that over. I was just tunneled out by a Wraith who had even gone to attack other people then left them to pursue me… across the map. After proxying my cage. Lol

🤣 them wraiths always built diff. Just seem a bit difficult to find someone across a big map with no notification but i don't doubt you at all. I just don't see how one could do that consistently.

I had a match the other day where a simliar thing happened. Essentially, a nurse hooked me, and as someone went for the unhook, the huntress watched and waited to hit me right after I got unhooked. She then downed me. I got hooked again, teleported in the middle of the map. Huntress went on the hill, and when someone else unhooked me, she went after me again. The unhooker tried to body block but the huntress wouldn't even m1 her. Just threw another hatchet at me again. She saw me getting unhooked the first time, chose to hit me twice. Saw me getting unhooked the second time, and chased me down again.

It took like less than like 4 minutes and I was out of the game. Brutal.

Oh tunnelling and proxy camping are absolutely happening now. You play enough and you get a general idea of where the survivor has been caged on the opposite side. Billy and Wraith in particular are zooming directly across the map to the caged survivor. I see alot of transporting cages happening when playing against Billy in particular too.

The first couple days were chaotic but today I've seen the strategies emerging. It's been alot harder to escape today than it has been the last couple days. Also got my first slugging team today which just resulted in team mates DCing... imagine sitting through long killer queues just to play with bots lol
