Playing normal DBD after 2v8 is BRUTAL
I played a match of normal DBD yesterday after playing 2v8 exclusively since it has dropped and the match was brutal. For starters, the queue time was a little longer than usual. Nothing too crazy but definitely long enough for me to notice. Then, once the match started, the Blight immediately came towards us (obvious Lethal Pursuer) and got a quick down on Jake. He proceeds to kill himself on hook. Since he was throwing the match, the Dwight DCs, leaving just me and Sable. Blight takes no pity on us and kills us (as is his right, I'm not complaining about that). In the End Game screen, I saw Blight was running Lethal, BBQ, Pain Rez, and Deadlock. I immediately switched over to 2v8 where the matches were way more fun in general. I'm not looking forward to going back to normal DBD once 2v8 leaves. Having more survivors means that even if one or two survivors DC/throw the match, we can still have a chance at escaping. We also don't have to worry too much about busted loadouts on both sides in 2v8 (except maybe Huntress' aura-reading but even that isn't too busted). Anyone else feel the same?

Yeah… I’m really not looking forward to returning to 1v4. I think once my rift & challenges are completed I’m going to take a break from DBD until 2v8 comes back (assuming it does)

All the good players are already back to 1v4, yes. 2v8 has simply not enough depth.

What I love about 2v8 is the cage system, which removes any possibility of being camped or tunneled. It's great. I played one game of 2v8 and asked myself why the actual game doesn't have that same system. To me it seems like an obvious upgrade.
Going back to 1v4 was rough, but I did it anyway because I'm working on an achievement that can't be done without perks. I'm going to miss 2v8 when it leaves.

Never played against those tunneling Pyramidhead players? Cage system doesnt so anything against tunneling, in fact its way worse cause it disables many kinds of anti-tunneling measures. Thats why it will never be a part of base game unless pyramidhead is involved.

Funnily enough, 2v8 had me missing 1v4 quite a bit and I've really enjoyed my games since going back. Facing a variety of killers instead of just the OG crew has been great.

2v8 is fresh and fun as a killer. When it leaves I think I'll switch to my other games until the next limited time mode. The normal mode is just so repetitive anymore.

My experience as been the opposite.
Survivor in 2vs8 has been fun non-stop.
Killer in 2vs8 has been fun about three days.
When I went back to 1vs4, killer only so far, I found manageable matches where I had some control. Way more relaxing than the 2vs8 genrush that is now the norm.

As a survivor main when 2v8 ends I'm quitting the game entirely until they bring it back again.

Yeah I went to just tunnel in 1vs4 on killer to do my tomes I don't know anymore how to play it all alone. I probably play different games once 2vs8 leaves.

Rather than directly nerfing Distortion, I would prefer more information perks working around loud noice notification, or screaming.
That would fix it.

Damn survivors… BHVR gave yall a taste of what an equalized match feels like and yall dunno how to act. Go back to your 38% escape rate and be happy. Lol

Ya I wont be playing the main game anymore once 2v8 leaves. Its way too much fun. 2v8 or nothing.

This is how much I've been playing 2v8. The first couple nights were mostly killer duos. A mix since then, but I copped a crapton of tome tiers because of 2v8. I tried 1v4 to do some challenges, but man, it's rough going back to such slow gameplay. I think I'm spoiled.
I wish they would keep 2v8 as a custom game mode where we can choose to do default games or use our own perks along with the loadouts for some crazy games.

Ive gone back to 4v1 it's better balanced. 2v8 is fun but needs tweaks.

As a new player (both killer and survivor, started 2 weeks ago), I'm really surprised to see so many people finding that the 2v8 mode is "super chill" : my personal experience has been the complete opposite, especially when it comes to playing survivor.
Pretty much all killers I've seen in 2v8 so far are tunneling people to some extent, targetting survivors who've just been unhooked, are wounded, and were barely able to move before getting instantly knocked down after everyone has been revealed again. At higher levels, I guess this may not be an issue anymore, but when you're beginning the game with other new players, it's not the same thing. Having to run away from 2 killers at the same time just feels very frustrating as you have very few opportunities to escape, and it happens too often that the other survivors are not doing any gens while you're keeping the two killers busy.
I'm also almost constantly facing killers who have a paid skin on their character and a higher prestige level than the survivors, which I do not understand. Since there are so few survivors compared to the number of killers in the queue, it shouldn't be hard to find killers with a similar playtime and level. In 1v4, I found almost all of my matches to be balanced, with very few exceptions.
I probably have around 30 hours of survivors' gameplay, which is nothing, I know, but so far I've never faced a tunneling, camping, or specifically toxic killer in 1v4. I don't know if that's something that becomes more frequent as you get to higher ranks, but so far in my 1v4 matches I genuinely found 90% of killers to be playing fair, with most of them even being nice and funny. I've never seen any killer letting someone escape on purpose or trying to communicate with the survivors in 2v8, whereas I frequently see that happening in 1v4, which is why it is waaay more chill to me.I definitely prefer the 1v4 mode and I am having way more fun in it. There are good ideas in 2v8, but for now it has been adding more frustration than fun to me. With few tweaks and changes, it could probably be really fun, but so far it's not the case for me. I probably have one fun game every four or five games. Also, the very limited number of killers to face in the 2v8 mode available for now gets old fast, even for me as a new player.
Playing as a killer in 2v8 is usually fun, but the time to find a game just kills the fun for me. Having to wait 20 minutes to find a game for a 10-minute match is ridiculous, especially as it is frequent that the matchmaking balance is inexistent (had several times prestige 100 survivors playing against me).
I'll definitely be looking forward to the changes they are going make to the mode, but for now, I am having a much more pleasant and funnier time in 1v4.
Edit: Also forgot to mention the ping issues in 2V81 -
Ah yes, playing excessively survivor sided games will of course make it painful to go back to actually fair game for sure

2v8 made me remember what it was like when dbd was novel and chaotic.
Hard to go back to 1v4 in soloq.

I am a Pig main, so I find 2v8 extremely boring. Oh, sure I don't mind playing Huntress, she was my original main until I was able to purchase the SAW DLC, but…. nah still boring AF.
